Taryn, it's basically a limit of 5 posts in the ACS thread per day, to keep people from spamming it up like they used to

You do NOT want to mess with strawberries more than you have to.
They leave such awful stains on everything
And vanilla coke is for cool people only, that's why so many of you don't like it

What if you had a seriously ill child? What if she was your daughter? Do you think you could pull the plug on her so easily?

These days, women get subjected to many tests before they give birth (especially when it's a first child, or the mother is 30 years and over), which excludes a lot of these cases. There are still things getting overlooked (I can't understand how they didn't see that 9 month old boy had 3 holes in his heartchambers), and it's just not fair to take the decision out of the parents' hands.
It's highly likely those children aren't conscious most of the time, so you can't bring the arguement of never ending pain.
If you ever have been in the hospital for a longer time and were in pain, you'd know doctors usually drug up patients, so they're more comfortable (and the nurses get less complaints <<; )

My sister was in the hospital for her first year and a half of life. She had her kidneys fail, her liver fail, her lungs go berserk, a bit of everything. She must've had quite a few near death experiences, basically. Most of it was due to severe allergies, but that wasn't discovered untill it was almost too late.
They started sending my mom to a counselor of sorts, to prepare her for the worst case scenario, and doctors have always, always warned my mother that my sister was likely to die before her 10th birthday.
She's 13 now, and driving everyone insane with her teenager antics and general bitchy attitude; her biggest problem is that she gets overstressed a lot.
If my mom had decided back then not to fight for her, she would never have known if there was a chance she'd pull through, which she did.

So no, I don't think doctors should ever have the right to decide on life or death matters. Technology and medical science advance so fast that, like Apple said, there's always a chance you can get cured tomorrow.

Tea's much, much better.
I should lay off the sugar in it, but right now, I need it. I have to do the laundry, fix up my homework, clean some, finish the dishes I started an hour ago, iron the laundry when my first batch is done (in about 20 minutes), and make the place somewhat clean.
I'm aiming for the laundry and my homework, I'll probably run out of time to finish the rest anyways. (doing homework while posting, yay!)

I cook random people in my oven. Or so the word goes.

I have to really dislike someone to wish bad things upon them, and I have to really hate them to want them dead. I'm generally a calm and loving person, but there are limits, and if you pass those, you can't cross back.

Gee guys, it's just a thread about FF music, from when the board just got back up.
I can understand you'd bump a topic with a bit more content, but this is pushing it.
And that rule is there for a reason. It's no one's fault someone new joins when a thread has been dead for ages, but that's no reason to bump it regardless.
No matter how much your posts adds to the topic, if you're smart enough to make sense, you should understand why you shouldn't bump up threads aswell.

I was in a similar situation to you.
Just change the names and places, basically, I think.
At the moment, I just got my staypermit (I'm living in a different country than I was born in, something you won't have to worry about since it's all in the US for you), I'm going to an evening course to improve my speech, and I'll probably start adult education soon aswell.
In best case, I can start university next year. If I can't (waiting for replies on the matter right now), I'll be getting a job now, instead of in 4 years.
I quit university to move in with my boyfriend and at that time, first his mother, then his father (they're divorced). I basically had nothing, and moved because his mother was so suportive, and her saying she'd help me on my feet there was what hauled me over in the end.
She turned out to be somewhat psycho, so we moved to his dad, where we stayed untill my boyfriend was old enough to start uni.
Which brings me to the current time, being almost the end of the first trimester of uni for him, and me finally being in somewhat of a positive position.
I'm not going to bore you with how I didn't get a staypermit last year and was forced to go back home for a long while, or how all the money I earned then was spent on food instead of giving us a nice start (his dad couldn't support us properly, so I had to make sure we could eat) or how impossible it is to find a job for someone of our age (I'm 20 right now, and I have some work experience, but I never got a positive answer on my jobhunts here, and back home, I had to work at the local McDo's if I wanted to earn anything -.-)

However, have you thought of what might happen when you're there? Can your boyfriend support you untill you get on your feet? Will he?
Can you deal with being very far away from anyone you know, and eventually becoming a stranger to them?
Do you have a back up plan, incase all else fails? Do you have future plans together, aside from just meeting up and living together?

I just jumped in without thinking too much, and I've wasted and entire year with it, and caused everyone unnecessairy pain and trouble. I can give you some pointers or my views on things, given I live with someone I met on a message board and all.
But first of all, get a job and save up for a trip to see your boyfriend and to spend some time together.
You do not want to move in with someone you've never seen.
If that goes well, you need to start planning things. If he's not 18 yet, freeze everything untill he is, and just steadily earn yourself a nice sum of money in the meanwhile, and get a drivinglicense. That alone opens up a lot of jobs.
Plan things together, have him help you finding a job there, and eventually an appartment there.
Buy furniture online if possible, and have it delivered at your boyfriend's, so he can store it for you.
Sell or get rid of anything you can replace when you're moving. Try to have only what you can take with you on a plane remaining. I'm afraid of heigths too, but planeflights are very different, so don't wet your pants over something you've never done.
Try to have as much as possible ready and over with before you move. It requires imense trust in your boyfriend on your part, but I personally would feel lots better leaving everything I've ever known behind, knowing I'll have something to eat tomorrow and afterwards, and have a roof over my head.

Recently, we picked up the DVD of The man in the iron mask.
The modern version is with Leonardo Dicaprio, and one of the few movies featuring him I can watch without wanting to puke.
If only we had studied the box better; it turned out we bought a movie produced in '76.
After watching it, I have to say it had its charms. Obviously, actors didn't have to do a great job then either, and some of the scenes were very funny because of the combination of overacting and smushy violin music.
But said music really set the overal feeling of the movie. They somewhat turned the story from a drama to a romance, with a girl who really could've used some powder to be a bit less shiny, but I liked watching it anyway.
The costumes were more accurate than the modern version, save for the male hairdo's, which couldn't hide the timeframe the movie was shot in XD

My point basically is; are there old movies you enjoy (more) than their current versions (if any)?
