Originally posted by Ten Well, let's look at it this way. At E3, dozens and dozens of people played each of the different DS consoles set up there. By the end of the last day, most of the DS screens looked pretty good. Very few of them DID have scratches, but I doubt it was the stylus that made them. Probably a persons ring or jewelry rubbing across the LCD screen or something. But, most of the systems were still looking pretty good. Can't say the same about the PSP. |

Imagine that could be your PSP after 3 days of use... It's kind of scary. I'm glad Nintendo is all about durability. |

This RO...what's the download time and the like for it? Learning curve, etc? It sounds intriguing, yet I'm still on dialup, and I know the clients for these things tend to be huge, so...

A scratchproof screen would be very nice on the DS... actually, its practly a necessity Nintendo always has been about durability.. one of its best qualities

That durability bit might be exactly why Nintendo has dominated the handheld market so easily. You could make a bullet proof vest out of SNESs, and that kind of durabilty is required in a hand-held the way most people treat theirs. The PSP looks like it would be unusable after spending a day in someone's jean pocket, but that new DS case looks like it's made out of the armor from a typical vertical scrolling shooter boss. Anyway, this thing looks w00t ^ 23. I'm looking forward to playing FPSs, RTSs, puzzles, and Pikmin on that thing. (edited by Squash Monster on 08-04-04 12:14 AM) |

Nintendo made a smart move (again) by having it flip screened. It has saved my SP, and it will save my DS. The PSP will be finalized and made far better. Sony knows that its future of competition in a new market is riding EXCLUSIVELY on this. |

Quick question about the PSP, I've seen two designs of it. The first design was a sleek, modern looking model. The second is the 80's looking piece you see up there. Which one is the final design? (edited by Ten on 08-04-04 12:42 AM) |

Sony claims the second iteration is going to be the production model, but I think they are going to surprise people at launch with a unique looking system.

A German Boulevar Paper (Computer Bild Spiele) once reviewed the Game Boy Advance, complained about missing Stylus and small resolution. But it passed all durability tests.

Depends on your internet connection speed. I have dialup, so I have someone with broadband download it for me. The main file is about 600MB, and you need WinRar 3 to open it, or you get errors. It's pretty easy to learn. It's the first MMORPG I've ever played, and I've gotten the hang of it. Finally got my Crusader to Level 99. You'll probably want to make your first character into a Swordsman, then Knight. The extra HP and Healing of Crusader is tempting, but most of their skills are defensive. Feel free to check out my RO guide here (link in sig). It's horribly out of date, but it should still do you some good. Also, I suggest that you don't join any guilds until you've gotten to at least Job Level 30 in your 2-1/2-2 class, since by default, 5% of all Exp you earn goes to the Guild. |
