Originally posted by Colleen Well, in the band we played a neat trick on our band teacher. We used the cell phone camera to take covert pictures of this blatantly obvious bald spot on the back of his head, and then we all were given pictures of the bald spot posted on t shirts. Each of us had a little inside joke or catchphrase from our tenure in the band. Then, on the big band trip of the year, when we went to canada for a few days, on the last day before we left for home everyone went to breakfast early wearing their shirts, and so when our band teacher came downstairs he saw a sea of shirts with his bald spot on them! It was quite ingenious. |

Preists don't really need int as much as casters normally do, since their specialty isn't offense and their buff times aren't exactly spaced based on the int stat, they're more to do with the skill level, the stat only plays a small role, if any at all, I think... Dex would help with the casting times, but I've found my preist only really has trouble casting stuff like Magnificat and such, and he's not high enough level to use the advanced skills (Like ME, santuary, Kyrie Eleison...). Knights rock, I love my crit knight, he can both mob and beat down individual enemies. |

Wi-Fi is actually short for "Wireless Fidelity". Products built with Wi-Fi are interoperable with one another and share a single high-speed connection over an extended distance. To put this in a portable game system... genious. Not that I didn't expect it. Nintendo IS always coming up with great new innovative things. As Reggie Fils-Aime (Nintendo's executive vice president of sales and marketing) once said, "While others plan to let you go a little faster down the same roads you have always traveled, Nintendo plans to take you down incredible avenues you've never seen before." It seems kind of obvious I'm the most excited person here when it comes to the Nintendo DS, and it's likely because I'm probably the only one here who has played it. Maybe you have to experience it to understand. Who knows. I simply recognize that this new handheld has HUGE potential. Games can be created that weren't even possible before! It's difficult for me to see how any serious gamer could NOT support Nintendo with the Nintendo DS-- but I do think I'm stating valid points and putting out a good argument in it's defense. Nintendo has always dominated the handheld market, and I put my faith in the fact that they know what they're doing once again. Who's with me? Anyone here as excited as I am? What do YOU look forward to about the DS? Let it all out. (edited by Kirby PopStar on 07-31-04 06:05 AM) |

My biggest hope is that I will have much much fun with the DS, thats the Core of playing videogames. For me at least. The other is I allways wanted to 'touch' my games, as in, select the menuoptions with the finger. And the Stylus is a good way to go. And didn't we allways complaying 'cause any stat-information and onscreen displays use to much space? With two screens the problem is solved. And best, it's foldable, don't damage the screens when not used. Oh, And did I allready said that Nintendo knows how to make handhelds that are good, as in good batterylife, cheap in comparision to rival system, and the Games. I know no other Handheld with this many good games. (Or even another Gaming Device with such a High ratio a good to bad sowftware (expect Game & Watches or similar or Neo Geo). |

I can change the sprites, alter the palettes, edit compressed graphics (obviously, if I just explained the process), edit maps and very limited hex editing. The only reason I can't edit movesets/evolutions is because I can't find the pointer data and don't lnow how to change it to reference to the new list (of moves, evolve, etc.). Oh, great. There's a text box glitch currently happening with AOL. Man, AOL is a piece of...crap. |

If yo're hacking Ruby... Use Pokepic to decompress offset 3748432 and save as a DMP file. Then Open it with TileMolester and edit away. REALISE THAT IF POKEPIC SAYS IT'S TOO BIG, FIND A WAY TO MAKE IT SMALLER. OTHERWISE YOU RUN A HUUUUUUUUUUGE RISK OF SAVING OVER IMPORTANT GAME DATA. And which would you prefer? A cool graphic or a working ROM? |

Well, I do a stat reset soon. Heck i'm considering taking skill+stat reset as I have wasted two skills on basic skill and one on emergency care (don't ask, clicked on that by mistake ) I saw someone with Cat'o'Nine Tails as a pet, how the heck do you catch a Cat'o'Nine Tails. Unless a GM did something special for him... (edited by Kitten Yiffer on 07-31-04 07:07 PM) |

I'm excited about it's connection with the N64. It's like a spiritual predecessor, an older brother. I loved my N64, and it's like it's getting a second chance, only this time, everything is going to be better! I know some people hate ports, but I say, Port those games Nintendo! Enhance all my favorites, add to them, expand on all those great Nintendo 64 classics! Great ports are headed our way, and developers are going to bring new and innovative games our way. With 2 screens and touch screen technology, developers are forced to think differently and innovativley. So many new possibilities for games, and new game types to be created. Even if the graphics arent as advanced as the PSP, I won't buy it. Ever. I'd rather have something new and innovative, mixed with the great games that Nintendo makes, and a pre existing library of GBA games. There's my bursting of excitement. ---------edit---------- Now that I think about it, if its more powerfull than an N64, an N64 emulator for it would be pretty darned awesome, I've only been thinking small, as in Gameboy games... Likely a GM-only pet since there's no tame available for it. 3 points isn't exactly something to waste 100k over... |

Well, some of the skills do I want maxed out. And three skill points would just be perfect. But I rather do that later... GM only pet, hmm... maybe I should ask. They probably want a fee thought... |

Use VBA's sprite viewer in the ending credits, maybe you can edit a name- such as if a group of people made something in the ROM, but you hacked it out of the game, replace their names and stuff... I think that might work- MBK whips out his VBA and tries it... EDIT: Tools -> Map Viewer (do as it shows the credit ya wanna edit) -> click on it and look for Address...that's the best I can do. E.x. Address for "Art Director Ken Sugimori" is 0x0600E2D6...don't know what they mean by address, maybe Kawa'll know (edited by MetalBlueKirby on 07-31-04 10:12 PM) |
