* Metal continued walking towards his opponent, even as the pistol was aimed at him. He would merely have to punch out his opponent... but he would surely be shot before he could reach melee attack range... *

"Give me your best shot."

* Continuing his steady march, Metal was almost close enough to smack Garro. But before he could take another step... he kneeled, breathing heavily. He would have to rest a bit before he could actually attack Garro... his head was nearly perfectly still. An easy target. *

"Do you have the courage to strike me down?"

* He was beginning to recover. This was the moment. The time had hit 0. If Garro didn't fire now, he might not have a hand to fire back with the next time. Metal visibly was about to get up and unleash a coup de grace! *

"Curses. Why didn't you shoot me?"

* He got up... ...what? He wasn't critically low on energy? How could this be? Why would he intentionally allow himself to be aimed at? *

"In the moment you would have taken to shoot me, I would have struck you down. But for whatever reason, you are not predictable. A normal person would have gleefully tried to shoot me and met death. It is with this that I would have chopped off their hand and stabbed them in the eyes."

* Metal's right wrist hummed, as the strange wristwatch glowed. An orange laserblade appeared there... and he was right, for the most part. Being caught by surprise by that would leave most people missing a few limbs. *

"But I cannot finish you off without reason. If you do surrender, then there is no purpose to flashy and extravagant attacks, especially since this is not a battle to the death, at least not usually."

* Metal hesitated before pointing the blade at Garro, wondering what the raised hand was for at the moment. *

"I accept your terms of surrender. Seeing as I have no need to kill you, and you have shown that you are an honorable opponent. I'm not sure how the judges will see this, but I am most certainly not going to be a hypocrite."

* Metal brandished the saber again, miffed that he hadn't exposed some dishonerable bandit of mindless killing. However it was a relief. After so many fighters willing to explode the world itself to win, this was almost a surprise to him. He then turned it off and it resumed being a wristwatch. With that hand he shook Garro's. The electricity had since turned off--deactivating most combat functions allowed the short-circuits to seal themselves off. Of course, while it was not likely, being in this position would only heighten the chance for him to be hit by a sneak attack. Frankly, most people would be dead. Had this being not had such an extreme pain tolerance and so much cybernetic augmentation, the light beam would have just incinerated him earlier. It had been a good battle, and he was tired. He vaguely hoped to soon see who he would fight next, and who would win this most lengthy tournament. *

"I accept your surrender. Clearly, fighting one another would be pointless. In a way, surrendering was the best option... any attempt to attack me would provoke the hand-severing counter attack, thus causing grievous injury to you, regardless of whether the attack killed or heavily wounded me.I have a feeling everyone would have lost in such a case; my remaining sensors calculate a high possiblility of you shooting me in a fatal way, and my retaliatory actions reciprocating the lethal damage to you. The only winner would have been evil, which is nothing I need on my resume. After all, the way of balance indicates both."

Well, see you. A shame I only recognize your name... oh well. The fate of a semi-new person like me, I guess.

"Woah!"

* Metal was surprised by the trick shot, causing his eyes to bulge a bit before realizing he hadn't been fatally deceived. *

"You've got to be more careful with that, you might put somebody's eye out. "

* Metal was healed by Garro's magic; the armor once again covering his body. After a certain point, the armor itself began healing Metal as well. *

"And off to the cafeteria we go."

* He left the arena with Garro... who could have guessed two people fighting to the death would leave the battle as friends? *

Hmmm... tables never did work well here. *Delete*

One problem with working with layouts off: You have no clue what happens to the view of people with the layouts on.

Glyph's just like that, Shyguy. Like he said, it's nothing to take personally. Mainly because most attempts by me to communicate with him have resulted in confusion.

I sense this topic is turning to the Dark Side. *Flees*

Hell no as well. Funny that we both thought of the same response.

My first board is (If this is advertising just delete the link out of this post) www.vgf.com/forums , where I've been a member for five years and still post. Yup. Hard to believe the closest I was to being a newbie was five years ago.

I just had to edit again. This is about my fourth or fifth board. I've been to various EZboards, Proboards, and some semi-famous Sonic Hacking boards (Never hacked anything yet, no dice) and everywhere. So, yeah, if you stick my username in a search engine, you'll see me everywhere.

Yet some more editing! Yeah, long ago, I was called a moron. Now it's my rallying cry against flamers. I announce I am a moron, then attack them with lectures. And the vote is multi choice! I can choose all three if I want... which isn't right, is it?

In California, land values skyrocket. Thus, if you're a long time land owner, there's your free money.

Directron

Xoxide

All my favorite haunts for parts and stuff. I know how it's done, and for a thousand dollars, you can make a rocking above average computer. With xoxide, you can get fanless power supplies and all sorts of INSANE stuff
(/UnintendedAdvertising)

You gotta be careful with building stuff, though. Do it wrong, and stuff catches on fire. I know... the legend of the flaming floppy drive still haunts me today. You could upgrade your existing computer nicely too, and keep most of the settings, and save a bundle. All you need is lotsa knowledge and experience and uncommon sense.

* Metal walked in from the nearby cafeteria. *

"A shame I had to lose to him, otherwise I would be the undefeated one. As much as I'd love a rematch, that shall have to wait until the next tournament. But should Kirbynite lose once, then.."

* Metal smiled *

"Well, anyway, good luck to everyone who's managed to stick around all this time. I'll be waiting."

* Metal wandered off to the lobby, awaiting his next battle. *

Yeah, and it costs roughly a dollar a gallon to make or something. All it requires is some different hoses and stuff.
