It is stupid, it is irritating, and in fact, I think it is great. I mostly like it due to the flack that I can fire at it, by making my own colour coded alert systems.

Yasser Arafat is on his death bed.

The US presidential election is coming near.

Ramadan.

Piece together these three pieces of the puzzle, adding the emergence of a new Al-Qaeda tape...Gee golly, I'm pretty sure that American interests are going to be attacked.

An admirable and romantic idea...But talk to a homeless man named Port Perry Bill around Oshawa, Ontario. He'll tell you life alone on the streets is a lot harder than you'd like to think.

Pft. I don't know why everyone gets so uppy about soldering...I mean, Christ...It isn't like doing arc-welding, or even asetaline torches. I don't really have a problem with it. In fact, I've had to do this before to tonnes of shizzle, so it shouldn't be too much of an inconvenience.

I do occasional awareness work for something called the Mequila Solidarity Network. And after working with them and various labour movements and various trade unions in my area, I awoke and realized that free trade isn't truly free until free trade is fair.

In a MAJORITY government, the role of the opposition parties is dulled. Whereas in a MINORITY government, the power of the any of the given opposition parties greatly increases.

To say that a Parliamentary system doesn't work is to not look at all the aspects, but then again, for the past decade people whined about how bad having a strong Liberal majority was, yet Canada's standard of living went up (and swiftly crashed when the political infighting began). But really, it should be put that each nation has a unique sort of mentality when it comes to politics, their democracy, and most importantly their nation identity. And that is what defines what works best in a nation. Given that the US is strong, economically and quite stable, the Presidential republic works beautifully. But, in another nation, as Arwon has said, the President has unfettered power and can exercise this somewhat unfairly...Such as President General Musharaff.

As for the PM having power, it is depending on the situations of the nation. Currently in Canada Paul Martin's Liberal sit with a minority government, meaning a voting down of a bill can cause a dissolution of Parliament, aka a vote of no confidence. It is a problematic system, but thus far it has worked in our nation. It yanks the arm of the ruling party to do what the other parties want and amend bills and ratify legislation. I don't know much about other nations senatorial systems, but Canada's are implaced by our Prime Minister, and for the most part...Well, it is more or less a cautionary board of elderly men that look over incoming legislation for grammatical errors.

Well, when a people have a belief system that is over 8000 years old, it is a little difficult to shrug off, neh?

I wasn't bringing in Fundamentalism. I was taking into account basic democratic structures, such as Presidential Republics or Parliaments, or various other forms of said democratic structures.

Again, in a PM structure, it really depends on the status of the government. Minority vs. Majority can really make a difference. If a majority government is in power then there is not much that opposition can do, but generally, they make deals behind closed doors in the shadow cabinets and caucuses with the leading party and have the backing of lobbyists. This generally sways the PMs head. Minority governments generally work the best, as long as it is a moderate party. If a hardline left or right party comes to power in minority, with the opposition from the moderates and the other side of the spectrum...Instant dissolution of Parliament and a new vote.

But, if you have a crappy president with his party controlling congress and senate...It amounts to pretty much the same as a majority Parliament.

And I'm going to stand by a statement I have believed for years. What works best for the people is what should stand.

Progressive income taxation. That's the way to go. Why should the poor have the most taken away from them and the rich be given an unneeded breath of fresh air? The upper echelon's of society have obviously benefited most from it, thus they should give the most back. Common sense.

I don't know, Asian cultures are based around adoption and adaptation. The Japanese especially are relatively hardset in the older ways, so I'd say that your argument is entirely geographic.

No, anarchy is the total break down of society into free standing individuals, without any governmental or corporate services.

Libertarianism is the concept of the removal of government and complete privatization of society. The highest point of the capitalist system.

I'm going to name what I believe in, but when I have to run out of the house and not get back until slightly later, I can't really elaborate my stance. Progressive taxation is exactly like that Utilitarian idea. Sadly, there is another form of taxes that Green parties favour because it is "environmentally friendly" you're taxed less the more spending power you have, it is a very right wing idea. Basically, if you purchase more heating gas, more firewood, more food and more gravel when you are making your house, dinner, during the winter, etc. the total cost of your taxes goes down as you put more into the economy, but if you can not put enough money into the economy, then you fuel the government. Frankly, I think it is a bad idea, but hey, there is always complete equalization or seperation of society.

Utilitarian:
1. Of, relating to, or in the interests of utility: utilitarian considerations in industrial design.
2. Exhibiting or stressing utility over other values; practical: plain, utilitarian kitchenware.
3. Of, characterized by, or advocating utilitarianism.
Libertarian:
1. One who advocates maximizing individual rights and minimizing the role of the state.
2. One who believes in free will.

Kicking my cousin's ass for the first time at Street Fighter.

I always was E. Honda, and he was always Blanca. So, I'd use Thousand Slaps, I was a kid, didn't know better. I always got wasted. Then I disovered Ken, Ryu, and Guile and projectile attacks. Of course, he still owned me. Soon I discovered how to time my attacks, and then I found the almighty Zangeif and his awesome flying Power Bombs. Soon, my cousin could not touch me in a fighting game. To this day he cannot defeat me, in anything...Except golf, but that is a totally weak ass sport.

Odd.

I'm your anti-typical nerd. I make fun of people, I do poorly in school, I never go to LAN parties, and I'm good at sports. Queerer yet is the fact that nobody wants me dead.

To be quite honest, I hate hanging around with the other nerds at my school. They are high strung, and annoying rich kids. The jocks on the other hand are generally nice guys, I hang around with them, and they generally don't make fun of anyone. I guess it is a more American thing, you know, the bastard jock.

Yeah, we're talking to some other better known bands right now who have recording contracts, they're setting us up with a whole shit load of stuff. In fact, if all goes well, we might go on a four show tour across Southern Ontario. But, unfortunately, the printing of our original demo was all but scrapped in favour of a cheaper and more easily distributed 5 way split.
