Apparently Aioria is the only one who doesn't want Aioria dead.

That ninji is cute. And believe me, I'm not the kind of guy who says stuff like that. I'm much more likely to kick something someone says is cute than to agree. But I guess I'm a sucker for old Mario enemies... Well, I'll be really glad when this one comes out. It had nice graphics, nice level design, and while I wish the levels had a bit more innovation to them the rest is certainly enough to give this a download. I'll be waiting for when it comes out. |

I vote SMO. Wait, it's not there. Then I vote Trashy's Ninji hack, even though it's scheduled for release soon. Wait, it's not there. Then I vote die. |

I really don't think that we're getting all that much from a single sprite change, Chickenlump. While really cool when done correctly, SMW has two text bubbles per level. We aren't exactly seeing things from a whole new perspective, just seeing a different 16 X 32 sprite for a change. But I approve of the Mario sprite changes anyway, because fat Italian plumber butt isn't exactly my favorite view for the duration of a video game. |

No, it's real. It was about how Mario had to stop Acmlm from stealing FuSoYa's hacking secrets. Unfortunately, I'm not kidding. Someone actually started working on that hack. |

@Kyouji: Wow, that's pretty deep. Kyouji has a pretty damn good point. But the problem here is that we're always looking at the same Mario drawing, which sucks. So the more Mario sprite changes, the better. (edited by Glyph Phoenix on 04-12-05 04:45 PM) |

Silly, maybe, but if people started turning Mario into all these things we'd have some pretty unique hacks out there. I might make a hack where you play as that beach ball Iggy throws at you. And if I'm the only one actually considering doing these things, that's just because I'm crazy. |

Someone already made a SMB3 hack involving Peach and Daisy, so the idea couldn't be that original.

You guys suck. A new stupid fad involving putting various Mario enemies in SMW as the heroes beats staring at Mario recolors for the rest of your natural hacking life any day of the week.

Originally posted by Cruel Justice This is Mario, dolt. The only way we're going to tell an evil enemy from a good enemy is either because they look nicer or because they have a hat or bow or something. And people are making new characters when it comes to these enemy hacks, they just happen to be of the enemy species. Sure, they're not using new graphics, but from Trasher's sigs and teasers alone that Ninji seemed to get his own little personality. But I guess that Trashy's Ninji hack is the exception, not the rule when it comes to originality. The other enemy hacks floating around here, while cool, don't seem to really do any of that. But they never really set out to... all they really do is switch an enemy for Mario. That's all that they're supposed to do, and for what they are I think they're fine. What do you people have against switching Mario for another character, anyway? I honestly don't think any of us look so deeply into the series as to consider it more interesting when a human is in the Mushroom Kingdom like Kyouji said. And Kyouji's the only person here who made a rational comment against enemy sprites as Mario, so... |

Use YY-CHR. Then you won't have to have the problems of those other, heathen tile editors.

If it was only two days, it's not a bump at all. But if he didn't contribute anything, it may be spam. Which means that you aren't at fault here, peter_ac, he is. Therefore this topic wouldn't be locked.

But then you wouldn't be able to climb back down... I personally think a tile like this would rock, if it worked like the ones in Donkey Kong. It would let you climb up into things... and... stuff... You know what I mean. But I think it would be harder than you guys think... the whole down-pressing thing would probably involve controller reading ASM which might or might not even be supported by blocktool... I don't know how the thing works. |

I have a cra-ZAY-zee idea. All I need is a ROM address or two that can be changed to stop Mario from walking left and right. I still want Mario to be able to do everything else he can usually do, but... not walk left or right. Got that? C'mon, help a hacker out here... |

I disagree. I think it makes the status easier to see. If you ever get a background, black and white status will end up being nigh-invisible. Sure, the status should be changed sometime down the line, but I'm all for the status being in color.

Well, I was thinking something along the lines of "Super Slider World" or "Super Mario Slider". The basic idea is to... um... slide. I noticed that in a slippery level in my hack you could escape certain thwimps just by coasting... no left or right necessary. I noticed that it was a lot more fun, just coasting and sliding past enemies in my own little self-imposed challenge than playing the actual level. So I figure that a well-done hack consisting of only sliding and jumping and the like could end up more fun than other hacks. With a few conveyers and custom Mario movement blocks from Blocktool this could work. At least the idea's original, right? |

That very last idea is terrible. Shadow Mario was a one-time deal. He was only there so Bowser Jr. could frame Mario, and we'll probably never see him again in Nintendo history except in SSB trophies and whatnot. A hack where you can choose between Mario and Wario would be nifty, though. You'd have to live with a crummy Mario recolor or find a way to change Mario's graphics to Wario and stuff like that. But using Wario would let you play as the bad guy, and it also would let you have more freedom when it comes to good-guy, bad-guy stuff because Wario seems to end up doing both as long as it involves treasure. Wario or no, just don't do the Shadow Mario thing because the idea sucks. (edited by Glyph Phoenix on 04-15-05 02:24 AM) |

Dude. The whole music file for a single song probably takes up a number of bytes. You could probably fit a lot in 64k of music data.

That's what's wrong with the world. Not global warming, not war, not the gathering darkness, but the global depletion of awesome from people in general. Soon we'll all wither away and drown in a sea of lameness. We gotta start a protest or something.

I voted yes with and without credit and peter_ac sucks/cheats at polls. I voted yes with credit because assembling tile squaroids and correcting palletes both suck. They should get credit for that. I also voted without because you don't really need to credit, but it'd be nice... because, once again, assembling tile squaroids and correcting palletes both suck. I voted peter_ac cheats at polls because I like screwing with forum polls. |
