I want to turn these two into an item system. But the L and R code doesn't seem to listen. It does something unpredictable, and in the end it's right. Because I made a backup in time. Read the stickes before you ask stupid questions like this.

I think that last one looks rather good, actually. The background may be bright, but it's not contrasting... all the colors are similar tones of red-orange. I like the stained-glass sorta thing you have going on there. Your sprites are major no-nos, though. Did you fix the glitch that happens when castle sprites and yoshi are in the same level? And that black podobo in the tar pits... bleach. Except for that stained glass in the last one, I haven't seen anything new or interesting here. |

There is something wrong with stupid hack ideas, not new ones. Don't bring up a bunch of crap, ask us to like it, complain about our solid points in the topic, and then top it off by making another topic about the same thing.

You're going to have to PM an admin if you want your name changed, Matrizzle. Not many of them hang around this particular forum.

That seems to be the case. This person-shaped mech should be only a little smaller than the building. After stomping it into the ground, it should pop back up the color of your shirt and it should generate funds every day afterward... Until some blue-wearing punk stomps on it. So you might want to roll a MD-tank or something on top of your building to protect it. |

Get off your freaking high horse, BGNG. "I've taken the opportunity to identify what the issues seem to be and what can be done about them" and "I am met, however, with disbelief and scorn from my fellow members"? People give you quality responses, you shoot them down, then you get mad at other people for doing the same to yours. You aren't the first person to propose "Let's work together". You aren't the first person to propose possible solutions. Don't act like you're better than people just because you've been tossing around ancient ideas. You can accuse me and the others of pessimism all you like, but you're mistaken - it's not pessimistic thinking, it's realistic thinking. We're not mad at you because of your 'solution', but because you make comments like "Delete your reply, Stifu". What was going on in your head when you made that comment? You can't order people out of your thread because they don't think your idea is peppermint and roses, and it makes you look like an idiot when you try. For your sake, stop it. |

Not a bad idea. Build one that does sprite actions and the stuff MWR did, too... Knowing what we know now, MWR is looking more and more obsolete. "Unknown bits" and "unused sprites" my ass. Mo' like... "click this button to corrupt your rom"..."bits"... I got nothing. |

Uh... no. There are a lot of settings that work for a lot of sprites, peter_ac, but 0B, IIRC, is the only one that works for big boo and there's a bunch of other sprites that require special settings.

I've looked at this problem for a while now, and I'm thinking that there really is no solution for more levels except heavy duty ASM hacking... which isn't so bad when you consider the fact that it's rarely more difficult to fit all your levels in then it is to reach the amount of levels you want. Except for peter_ac's monsterous SMB collection, maybe, who here has actually ran out of level space? |

Heh. After 250 levels, it's probably about time to wind the game down to the ending. Besides, there's always room for a sequal.

I think you guys are too hard on the more senior hackers. There's the occasional case of "find it yourself" BS, but more often than not they're willing to open up and give you all sorts of information. And n00bs have tons of chances to learn. Google, Zophar.net, stickies at large, and simply posting clearly here can net them a wealth of information. If they can't figure out what's laid out in readmes, then it's too bad for them. All newbies aren't looked down upon. Only the stupid ones. |

Don't do that. There are already too many glitch hacks out there. Do you know why people make them? Because they're easy. Anyone can half-ass a glitch hack. It's just too easy to go too far and make the glitches annoying rather than interesting.

Nah, you really need to watch out for Yellow Earth. See, with all us bigwigs after the building, anybody who's not as massively powerful as Black hole or with one of those genius Special Advisors (which are of such rarity that they have not been seen since the original Black Hole assault) can't touch the building. Because that'd be stupid. So you just know Kanbei's gonna blunder in without Sonja's guidance and then while Grey's complaining and Kyouji's beating the crap out of Bloodstar he's going to take the building. And then we'll all probably just kick his ass, but still. |

x23DA sets the message box variable. x18F90 reads the message box variable each frame, apparently. If anyone knows more about the message box, your help would be greatly appreciated, since I want a short mini-cinema at the beginning of my hack. Edit: Also, does anyone have any data regarding Mario's speed? I need to hack Mario's running code to allow for a DASH powerup. Yep, I've got something big planned.... The biggest hack since SMO planned, probably. Edit again: Well, it might have been. It's not like SMW hacking had a lot going on. But instead it's going to be another one of those down-the-crapper reject hacks of mine. Heh. Yeah, I know, you all saw that coming. The funny part is that he calls it a mini tutorial. I'll add it to the front post, and update a bunch of other stuff I should have updated already. |

Originally posted by asdf Eheh. No. People demanding that HDMA is used need to rethink things, but you can hardly blame information sharing for that. Originally posted by asdf You know why we complain about bright palettes, screenless threads, and unoriginal ideas? Because they suck. Honestly, you're angry at people.... because they don't like these awful, awful things? Originally posted by The Kins Heh. You totally zinged that word, man. Really, though, we should probably toss out that word in favor of something more accurate. Because it's not new-ness we're against, or lack of a knowledge base, it's unwillingness to look at obvious sources for easy to find information and just general stupidity. Originally posted by HyperHacker There's been a major misunderstanding here, methinks. When one says "n00b", one usually means idiotic newbie. Not those willing to learn (and willing to study themselves rather than make a topic before checking around). What it really is: anti-idiot sentiment misunderstood. Originally posted by BGNGOriginally posted by The KinsIf I chose to take this out of context, I could make any number of resultions about your intelligence and attitude based on the presence of one word in one of your posts. Ahaha. No, you couldn't. Not without looking like an idiot. Did I base this idiot judgement off of just one meaningless word? No, I based it off of this solid example of your stupidity. See how that works? No? Well, you'll get it eventually. Originally posted by BGNG You know why Stifu made that "Jesus" remark? Because you look really foolish saying that grudgingly making compilers going to help anything. Even if that actually helped (BASIC compiler? Yeah, that's going to save the community.) there are lots of communities that need help. If you're not having fun helping this one, then leave. |
