Oh well. Well, if anybody still wants it, here is the combination 3up and goal block I made. Since I haven't tested it there is a chance that it won't work right. So, for the love of ROM, make a backup. In order for it to work right you have to set its setting to coin block and all offsets to -1 except for Below which you set to 0. I think. Since I haven't tested it I'm not sure. 3 up + goal block Also, it doesn't do that sprite thing where it says "3up". But it plays the music and all. (edited by Glyph Phoenix on 07-15-05 09:56 PM) |

There already is a block that only can be destroyed by Yoshi's fireballs, so why not just take that block and make it look like a block of ice? Unless you're looking for coins and such to come out, in which case I still can't help you because I haven't figured out how to create sprites or even change the graphics of a block during Blocktool block code. |

Originally posted by Ikuzou There are emulators that do that. In fact, I think ZNES can do that. I thought I did it at one point in ZNES, anyway. Or maybe it was VBA. I did it during one of the systems that can run Rockman and Forte/Megaman and Bass, anyway... |

Er... Lzh and rar are two totally different compressions. Lzh is more popular in Japan for some reason.

Eh. Well, that 3up block thing is supposed to exit the level by the same way a ? mark sphere does. So it might work after all.

Asking for a block before looking to see whether or not it is included with Blocktool makes Baby Mario cry.

This program idea wouldn't make sense, though! You'd have to make a totally different emulator build just for SMW to check certain level information in RAM and open up a MIDI file and play it. It entirely misses the point of emulation when you go and make this feature that only works with one rom on one emulator and takes more work than it would to just put the music directly into the game. There almost certainly are executable versions of Mario World in existance. But they have nothing to do with rom hacking the game. |

I got pwned. I thought I had used the "Yoshi Fireball block" before but it was the "No pass Yoshi" block that I used in... Illiad, maybe? But until I figure out how to make blocks permanently change to some other sort of block it's probably better if I don't take a shot at making this one. Really, though, is there like a reference for Blocktool stuff? Because I only stumbled on the "high byte of the block type is in Y register" thing by chance and that's pretty much all I know. |

I'm not, though. I'm just saying it wouldn't make any sense.

You can move Mario like you do a sprite. You just can't erase his starting position.

He didn't even steal it correctly. It has to be the guy you ran over who says "Oh, you're the retarded guy? Oh. Well, don't worry about it." Besides, nobody really needs an excuse to run over Kyouji Craw.

Since it's not here and that's the only good place, I guess not a publicly known one. Maybe by studying the Yoshi Fireball routine that the Blocktool block Yoshi Fireball points to you could find the actual address if there is one. |

My mediocre blocks would be better if I could use all of Blocktool's features. But I can't find anywhere that has the information. I'd ask jonwil but I think he sorta dropped off the face of SMW hacking or something. So far I know that in your Y register is stored the high byte of your blocktool block type and the low byte is 7E1693, but that's about it. |

Don't make any more threads until you read the Lunar Magic help file. Most likely you are continuing from an old save file and the help file tells you specifically not to do that. |

You know your way around a custom block, right, HH? Well, try screwing around with direct page indexing (and while you're at it, explain it to me. ). I learned from the Music.bin block that somehow direct page 03 is the low byte of the position of the block in Map16. That means if you had a block that was in the fifth position of page 3, the value would be 3. Maybe. I'm not really sure about this one because I don't understand direct addressing. |

Just wondering, what kinda checks does it make? How does it tell what kind of rom this is?

A hell of a lot better than glitchy graphics, though, right? I'd give this a download but I'm not going to paste all the different files together.

Of course it's avoidable. Don't place 3 of those sprites on the same screen. Really, though, look at those damn chains. Each link in the chain is a 16 X 16 sprite, and each ball is 4 16 X 16 sprites. That's a lot of sprites. So if the twenty-fourth of those 16 X 16 sprites (not counting Mario or your item box) doesn't want to load on you... I'm not sure of what exactly causes the sprite limit, but a really easy solution is not to use three at once. |

[16:57] Kyouji Craw: My excuses are getting worse. [16:57] Glyph Phoenix: Which ones? [16:58] Kyouji Craw: When Ziff said that attempted murder in fact does not carry the same punishment as murder, I essentially said "Dude, nothing that's been said in this thread is even remotely connected to reality, why would that be any different?" [16:58] Glyph Phoenix: You suck. It's not a parked car but it'll do. |
