No. Bad idea. Very bad idea. Having sprites that change suddenly into other sprites is a mind-boggingly stupid idea.

Don't delete posts. You've interrupted the natural order of things, and now no one will know what my post above is referring to. Frusterating.

Goomba's speed wouldn't be that simple... I think it uses the same value as a lot of different sprites, so changing the speed of one would change them all. Then again, this may only hold true for SMB3, not SMW...

Sheesh. You both sound like idiots.

First, Kyouji, he did say loops. He clearly said something about loops. Next, loops as we know them from Sonic may be impossible, but with a little hacking to the pink corner running blocks.... y'know, the ones that make you run up walls... you could implement them. Or, for all we know, he's not even talking about the kind of loops you guys are.

I like neon red, blue, and yellow. Because it's true, originality is no excuse for it. Which makes it more original. And because no one in their right mind would do that overworld, that makes it even more original.

Yeah, but it's still original. Although if I had to choose between those two I'd stick with Yoshi's Island, thankyouverymuch.

Posted on 04-29-05 12:23 AM, in can i add my favorite music to smw?!?!?!?!??!? Link
First, I really doubt the NES would be support music like that. Next, the SNES and NES engines are quite different. Does d4s know as much about NES as SNES? Meh.

d4s, have you ever taken a look at the Tales of Phantasia engine? They have voices in there as background music. Does that work anything like this engine?

Not good. Fix it.

First, make the black part of the grass extend one 16x16 tile lower at least, so it looks like you actually have grass growing, Better yet, scrap that sandstone looking thing and start over.

Next, the background is dull. Darken it and add some features.

You can't have Mario and Luigi as playable characters in the same SMW hack unless you either hack SMW + allstars, or unless you have some l33t asm skillz. Or unless you're talking about stupid looking recolor Luigi.

He just said the word "loop". He hasn't posted since. So you're both wrong.

Dammit. I don't use the forum jump. So I had to hear this forum from Kyouji.

Oh. That'll work fine.

But is Luigi going to jump higher but be harder to slow down? If so, that'd rule. Do that.

It's not that big of a bump. Geez. While anything over a week probably isn't a good idea, that response is... just plain stupid.

I'm dissapointed in your site, Smallhacker. You need something flashy with iframes and such. Because. Just because.

While I think that an offset editor is a rather stupid idea in general, I have a lot more faith in your ability to make a decent SMW hacking program than, say Darkflight. I'll give it a shot. I want to see exactly how useful an offset editor really is...

The flashy iframes thing was a joke. No one needs flashy iframes.

And as for the editor, I'm dissapointed. It really is as useless as I predicted. It's slow moving because you have to use the arrow keys to choose a value. And no GUI. I'd rather stick with translhexion and my list of addresses. For the many reasons I already listed when it came to DF's editor.

I'm only calling it useless because it doesn't do anything useful. It has no valid use. It's just a crap piece of software and any hex editor can do pretty much everything this thing can do, and so much more.

How the hell does it reduce the risk of making a mistake? Smallhacker's listing system is just as likely to have errors as someone adding them to a list. And any decent list should have all three of the things mentioned above.

This tool is just a feature lacking hex editor that comes with a list. When better versions of those things are out there, this would be... well, obsolete, if the better versions didn't come first.
