Not a chance my Friend. im actually waiting, right now im working on a website, where im gonna post other peoples hacks. and programs, as well as some things im working on, and thats where you will hear about updates and stuff, so heres whats happening(A priority List):
1st: Doing the site, and uploading programs, and ips patches.
2. learning vb.net, which, is what im gonna do the editor in now, seeing as its more OO(Object Oriented) and it will make a better choice, for multiple reasons, such as: there will be more features, probably faster loading the gfx and probably load the rom faster as well. and a MUCH better layout, because its easier to make a XP style with .NET as well as custom button shapes, etc. What im working on in .NET right now will be the Interface, which ill post later on, and in .net ill have more control over what happens. and after the YI editor, ill be working on 2 things,
1. A sample hack, to show Island Magic(New Name, Thanks to whoever mentioned it) and
2. Other Rom editors for roms with all the data, but no editor....

Well Thats about what I have to say..... ill post Interface screenshots tonight.

to answer some of your questions:

1. Im not to sure about the Pipes.....
2. With the layers, im gonna make it so you can switch by right clicking anywhere in level editor interface.
3. The overworld, will be editable. if you can call it an overworld....
4. as will the text.

Yeah, I dont think its possible, there are more layers, and I believe the layout of the level is a little different as well, so it wouldnt work, and yeah, ill make sure there is an ExGfx option.

There will also be an internal editor that has most features used in external editors, mainly so people dont have to have a seperate editor to edit the gfx easily.

I can try the Test Level thing, I might be able to get it, although it probably depends on the Emulator, and I definently cant program my own Emulator....but I suppose I can add it so you can specify an emu so you can just go to run game, or if I get it to work, Test level. and yeah, ill have hidden features...

We will see about the Name, as for focusing on the interface for right now, I need to because I dont know all of the vb.net I need to know to make some of the functions, but im just about there, then I need to make a dll kinda like Lunar compress, but just for YI, which I will also release, then, I will start the functionality.

the interface is almost ready for screenshots, I just need to do a few things, and the main part looks similar to LM, since I couldnt think of anything else, but the layout for the other editing parts are much different

not in my opinion, I dont know why but I like .net better...that way I can add some things that were harder or impossible to add in vb6...

basically, it sort of is the same, but you will see the difference when I post screenshots in a little bit, theres no major changes, but I did make it look a little different and still simple to use.

or I could if i wanted, to do whatever the hell first I want to...so we will see what happens....because that way, I can do what I feel like working on, and dont get bored and do something else instead, so you see my point?!

edit: and fu didnt even start with level loading first, in my pm he said he started with the 8x8 editor...

Yeah, I guess your right, ill just have to see what I can do about the ExGfx...I hope I can get it. but its probably not gonna be there first release...and yeah, I think ill use lc instead of making one will make it move faster

If he is in the mood to make a GUI that looks good, let him. Just think, he goes on to add an ExGFX option and he does it for like 3 monthes. Let him do what he wants in the order he wants. As long as it looks good, loads a level and can edit even 1 tile, that would be a huge step forward.

no, the foundation is not the interface, im also working on variables, types, a few custom controls to make it easier to make functional, and as well as making the lc dll commands I have for vb ported over to .net, while also working on the interface from time to time. so im not just working on the interface.

I did this yesterday, but here, its the layout for the editors, ive done it much different, and its not done yet, but the first thing im gonna get to work is the 8x8 editor, then the 16x16 then the gfx editor. then ill load the levels. and seeing how I have to recode it, I dont see how its possible to have anything really being read really yet.

I still need to add more tabs, and buttons, etc.
Next screenshot I show, will have the 8x8 editor working.

Well, basically, im following the way fu did it in LM, he said he started with the 8x8 editor, then the 16x6, then palettes, and so on
