The new generation will be available in late 2005, early 2006.

We're always delayed 1-2 years.

@Rydain:

1993 Golf 1.9 Turbo Diesel converted for veggie oil with a nice and clean install.
Cost: 300$US
Running biodiesel is simple and requires no modifications.

This is last week.

99.9cents/L for diesel
95.9 for 87 octane

1 gallon US = 4.52L

With the current conversion, it's around 3$US/gallon

But the ingenious me doesn't buy fuel anymore.

Diesel engines have the proterty to be able to run on waste vegtable oil. (There's a few things to know in depth but the process is very basic)

Filter it. Blend it during summer with some diesel (80% veggie, 20% diesel) and voila, you just saved a hell lot of money.

I've seen people here easely save around 1500$ cdn/year
Some extreme cases, they save up to 3000$cdn/year in fuel
3K is a hell lot of money.

Like named above, ethanol, methanol, hydrogen, propane, bio-diesel, vegtable oil

So far, I've tried vegtable oil and bio-diesel (diesel engine)
I've driven an Ethanol powered car (normal gas engine with ultra-high compression 17:1)

I'll give ya all a class later on.

Short term: Biodiesel and ethanol
Mid-term: Hydrogen
Long term: electric

Get an older 96-97 Passat or 97-98-99 Jetta TDI.

They do 50mpg bur are way bigger than the smart cars and a lot more powerful. (120mph no problem)

As for the Mercedes Smart, it's a 2 seater. and has a small trunk.

In my own opinion, the older vehicule is going to be as efficient, has have it's proofs and you won't mind installing a veggie kit.

Questions ?

(There's a lot more info to know than I'm saying here)

The Smart uses common rail diesel witch is recent technology and I have no clue on long term use, even on standard diesel.

The older technology (VW Diesel 2003-, 1999- Benz, older Volvos, toyota, nissan, ford) all use what is called Rotary Pump (aka Bosch VE)
They technology has been around for 75 years.

I'll be direct. Before doing any staff restruc, the current staff should look at themselves. There's no freaking guidelines. No standards, no tracking system on bns, warning etc.

When the board was small, we didn't need it. We we replying like to each others. Short, complete replies. Today the same stuff is considered spam. we were at most, 40 daily active users.

As time went by, new users, friends, etc came along. New staff was needed. It's like running a business. Got more entry-level employes, need more staff to manage all of them. Not enough, you'll have chaos. Too many, they'll step on each other. Small staff can be more lenient. Bigger staff need more stict guidelines. With a lot of people, if one goes out of line, it's quick 10 will follow. Smaller board, only 2-3 will follow, it's not that critical

Anyway, overall, staff needs to get it's act together instead of changing where the problem is.

For electricity, I'm all for hydro power. So far, it's the most long term cost efficient source of energy. Also have a lot of potential. (I've worked with solar and windmill)

As for fuel, ethanol (used here due to anti-gel properties) , methanol (highly used in Brezil) and synthetic diesel (biodiesel) are the 3 technologies I've worked with.

So car, bioD is the most economic to make and only has 10% the poluant of diesel.

Btw, Diesel car polute less than new gas car due to diesel particulate filters.
