In all honesty Shane, I was surprised that your transparent mario hack got all the positive feedback it did. It was kind of neat looking - I could tell that it didn't take much work, but you didn't claim that it was the best hack this board has ever seen either, so I didn't see that you did anything wrong. I was actually kind of glad to see that you weren't getting flamed for it, which is usually the response that sort of hack gets on this board.

Around here, there are people who aren't satisfied until they see someone thouroghly trashed for a creating a quick-and-simple hack like your own, so there was an inevitable, huge, but strangely delayed backlash. Don't let it get to you. I agree that you should probably start editing levels - and definitely don't start pumping out simple graphics hacks, one right after the next and posting each one in their own thread. But don't do anything purely for recognition, especially not to get it from people around here. There are people who take this kind of stuff way too seriously - make a point not to become one of them.

Wow, this is amazing. I wish I knew how to put this onto a cart - I guess I'll just have to stick with zsnes, because I don't have a clue how to do that. I'll probably play back through Chrono Trigger soon, because of this.

No, there should be a place to buy some more meat, although I don't know where it is. Maybe someone around here knows where to find it, but at least I can tell you that you haven't 'screwed yourself'.
