yes, i'm starting over with a clean rom. I'm trying to remember/redo, everything the same way as I had it in the other hack, minus the glitches, lol. OK. I'm getting fed up now. I'm editing Heatman. Now, I have not edited the scrolling data. I haven;t edited checkpoints, I haven't edited how many rooms there are. I'm keeping heatman the same as the original in everyway, except the look. I've backed up my game, and I know it's now VISINE related. I have a fresh zip of Megaman2. Now, my problem. I use TLP to install different pics for heatman's level. Now, when I get to the checkpoint of the level, and I change designs, the game screws up. When I die during the level past the checkpoint, I have to turn megaman left, to make the eneimes appear. AND, for the hell of it. I decided to jump to Wily 1. The game doesn;t go black when the level starts, but it's still glitched. I have to turn left in order for the enemies to appear in the Wily 1 level. Now, what the hell am I doing wrong?!?!?!?!?!?!? What am I doing wrong in VISINE?!?!? Am I doing something wrong with the TSA blocks?!?!? Am I editing to far?!?!?!? what is going on?!?!?!?! Am I not supposed to edit the 4 blocks on the right to a certain degree?!? "aka" like is there a limit to how many blocks I can use to paste TSA blocks into?!? I've excedded $30. Any Ideas? well, I redid Heatman's level design the way I want it to look. Everything is working fine. BUT, I haven't edited, added, or deleted, any of the enemies in that stage. And because I haven't done that, the game hasn't screwed up. That's fine and dandy, but how am I supposed to make my own hack?!? What do I have to with the enemies, and items, so it wont screw up the game?!? Fx3, any ideas, or anybody for that matter?!? I need to know this....... | |||

OK, NEW PROBLEM! I'm editing Woodman's stage. I'm using custom scrooling for that level. Now, I know that this will also affect Wily3 stage, so I kept all the original numbers for that level, when I edited Woodman. I began doing an hours worth of level design, and I was randomly looking through all the other levels, and I noticed the scrooling for Wily3 is all screwed up. The level path, it only shows 1 block?!?!? and when I hit "s" it shows all the values, yet, there's only 1 block appearing in Wily3. Here are my hacked values, and the original values. Original Megaman 2. This is shown when you view Woodman's Scrolling data. 44 40 20 20 20 80 80 44 40 40 40 22 20 00 40 40 40 44 40 40 40 40 22 00 00 00 FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF My Megaman 2 Hack. holy shit that worked. Please, can you explain this to me, cause this happend in my original hack, Wily 3- to the end, were all screwed up, all one block levels. What you've just showed me, is not covered in the Readme, of VISINE. Please explain to me, cause I know this will happen again. Thanks for the speedy reply! The reason why I ask this, is because this could "possibly" save my old hack, I say possibly, because the Wily1 boss doesn't appear, and the game resets itself. wow, I don't have that! ok, I now understand how to fix the Wily castle problems from the diagram of the scroll paths. Thanks. But I have 1 other problem, and I know this one will appear again. In Woodman. When I start at the middle checkpoint, my scrolling gets screwed up. like, the screen I start on is fine, just what it's supposed to look like, even the enemies are correct!, but when I start to scroll, the top part of the level path appears, with my enemies from the 2nd checkpoint floating around. I thought that I;d had this figured out, but I must be doing something wrong, here;s my values, and please tell me where I'm screwing up, because the beginning, and last checkpoints all work correctly. DurfarC, and I, have solved the problem. Thank You DurfarC. I won't get into what the issue was over, but I will say that we figured out it was a problem on my end. I patched a rom I originaly thought was clean, and it wasn't. I'm kinda new to rom patching, and had no idea something like this could happen. Honest mistake. Subject Closed. I want to include extra graphics for sprites, and level design. I do not want to expand the rom for data, hex, etc. In my TLP, the screen goes all the way down to 3F000 Can I expand it to the point of a full blank page on TLP, to include custom graphics? And the ideas I've been comming up with are working, it's just that I need more room for all the other ideas I need. Thank You. |

hmm, so it is possible? All i need is one blank page to view on TLP to do all the ideas I've got. I'm really excited over the things I've come up with. I'm not asking for spoon feeding, all I'm asking, is where for a complete noob, aka, me, to find the most simplest documents on how to do this, and also, one that give examples. I need examples, that's the only way I can learn. If it gives examples, I can do trial and error stuff, as long as I have a template. Please no flamming, no saying you never had your hand held, and all that high and mighty stuff. I'm just a die hard hacker, that's still fresh, and needs a little guidance. wow, lots of input. Johnny 5 likes! :-) anyway, I'm not looking to do fancy backround graphics. if this can be done, my main objective, is to create multiple graphics for sprites. so far, I have 1 sprite that's normal in the game, and through the course of the game, you'll encounter that sprite, but it's in a different form, still doing the same task as the original. I started getting crazy ideas for the last part of the game, but I'm out of blank space, (unless theres garbage that I can get rid of) I got rid of all the Jap text, and replaced it with custom, ripped, sprtie graphics, told VISINE where to look. placed the sprite I want to use, and BAM! It worked! so, if this can be done, I'm true to my word when saying I want to learn. I'm an out of the basket, complete noob, to rom expansion. So, I don't want fance blinky sparkman, geminiman type graphics, I just want more space to insert silly looking sprite graphics. My idea works, I just need more space. This hack is about 80% complete. Games almost done! Problem. When you defeat Wily, it's supposed to show that red flying object, and eventually crash to the ground, and the game is over, well.... When I defeat wily, the red thing is blue, and goes all the way to right side of the room, and never crashes, and, cause it doesnt crash, the ending doesnt appear. the screen just stays where it is. Here's an image of it. Also, for some reason, wily is glitched in the machine where he's jerking the controls. But I know I have the right addresses pointing to the right banks in VISINE. Anyone know what's causing this, any solutions? If not, this game will end right there, and I'll release it as is. :-) Thanks Coming soon, for real. Megaman Ultra. EDIT - Also, I just noticed, the red spinning ball isn't in the glass in those pics either. actually, this is just the original ending backround I didn't change this. But all the other level designs are changed, either, completly, slightly altered, and complete original designs. Anyway, anybody have a clue to my problem? :-) EDIT ____ ok, i still have no luck with this. I just rememberd that the 8 boss room level, is shared with quickman. I decided to do a check, make sure all values are in place, and I'm getting the same response. Here's my values. Please let me know if something is in the wrong direction. If you want to see what I see, just scroll above, and that's what happens with these values. Slot 8 is the fight with quickman, Slot 9 begins the 8 boss room level. Slot 9, Bank 0 - 09000,09000,09000,09400,09300 Slot 0a, Bank 1 - 11000,11100,11200,11E00,11300,0DF00 Slot 0b, Bank 6 - 12A00,12B00,12C00,12D00,12E00,12F00 Slot 0c, Bank 7 - 15400,15500,15600,19400,19500,11500 = this one includes the graphics for wily, the spinning red ball, and other positions. Slot 0d-1a, Bank 7 - 15400,15500,15600,19400,19500,11500 Any ideas? I also forget this glitch as well. In the 8 boss room level. Bubbleman, Woodman, and Flashman, are all glitched. The rest of the enemies are fine. Any ideas? EDIT - damn it, i did something, can't figure it out. here's an image *sigh* i'm lost. First, Special Thanks. Fx3 - for your amazing VISINE editor. Thank You. And, Thank You as well, for your help and assistance. DurfarC - You were the first one who helped me understand VISINE. I Thank you for your help, and I also thank you for your help with my glitches as well Disch - Thank you very much for your time and assistance as well. bbitmaster - I thank you for taking the time to help me understand FCEUXD. I promise, now that this is over, I'm beginning to learn 6502, to further my hacking abilities. Your were a big part in helping me understand hex editing, which has allowed me to do different things to game. Thank You. Your teachings won't go down the drain. If I forgot anyone else, I apologize. And now..... Megaman Ultra........ This game features all 8 original, and Wily levels, either, completely edited, partialy edited, and original concept edited. Some music has been switched around, his bullet speed has been increased, a vast majority of text editing has been added to this game, certain weapons I've given new names to, I've included some classic, and original sprites, to join the party, and, some enemies are hex edited to act differently. And now, some screenies!!! Megaman Ultra Nothin Fancy Bubbleman Bubbleman is at his old tricks again. Looks like he's taken a fancy to his old style. The city awaits the victor. Airman WOW, Airman's taking it to the streets. What traps does the man of air have for Megaman on the ground? Crashman Crashman has been instructed to goto what's left of Stoneman's area. Looks like Crashman's been blowing up already. Be careful. Flashman Don't let this fool you. Flashman's got a few tricks up his sleeve in his new crystal caves!! Heatman Well, well.
