Just skip this idea, d4s.

If someone wants to cheat his way throug a game, it's just up to him. I personally can't see the advantage of cheating cause what are you playing for then?!

Anyway, renaming him as a cheater would be quite funny... but that's just my tiny opinion...^^

Nice going^^

Anyway, I'd like to know if there's some document on the net that actually explains the structure, data is stored in SNES-savestates (preferably SNES9X-savestates, but ZSNES will do as well...). Does anyone know such a doc and the location where I can find it?

This new release together with the new version of the Grafx-plugin definately improves a lot.

But do not expect the flickering to be completely gone. The game still has some issues...

Maybe you could create some special Item that makes you invisible (could let you sneak around some knights protecting the castle for example...). I could imagine some tricky things to do with such an item...^^

Posted on 04-28-05 08:05 PM, in Labels for Tototeks Super Flash Cartridge... Link
Hello there.

As there were quite some requests on tototeks board for a custom label for their SNES-flash-cartridge, I created two versions. One for our european and japanese SNES-lovers and another one for the US-version cartridge-type.

If you don't know what the Flashcart is yet, just go to tototek.com and take a look.

If anyone searches for some label for his Flashcart or if you now want to buy one, you can go to my website www.Digisalt.de and load down the label in section "downloads -> Sonstiges" (sorry, no english version yet...).

Any feedback would be appreciated. Also if you want, send me a picture of your labled Flashcart and I'll put it onto my website soon... (webmaster_AT_digisalt.de).

So there you go.
Enjoy^^

Just a little question aside:

Am I the only one having no trouble with running SNEStool on my XP-machine?!

I mean LIPS is alright but I'd miss the other functions provided by SNEStool...

then why does he not reply within the correct thread?! I mean you don't have to be a rom hacker to use this board correctly... *sigh*

Can someone close this thread, please?

Hello there.

I'm hacking Lufia and the Fortress of Doom to translate it to german. Because of the lower speed of the PAL-snes, the Intro runs much slower than in the original. So I'd like to increase speed-values when you're on the world-map for example...

I found this on the net:

Move around caves and world map quicker:
4DB4-D401
Not effective when leaving a vehicle or boat.

This is a Game Genie Code... now I wanted to know, if there's any way, I can kind of disassemble this code to learn, what it does to the game and how it could be applied to my rom...

Any ideas?!

@darth mole: Uhm,... about tracing, I think there are quite many motivated hackers who just don't know how to trace efficiently.. me included. If I want to trace, I try something. And I don't succeed. Then again, I try, and nothing seems to work. When I finally get a Tracelog (like once D4S created for my Lufia-issues), I seem to be so confused that I can't get any idea on how to interpret what happens during that code-segment...

Are there no simple tutorials about how to trace data with geigers SNES-debugger?! I really do want to learn how to handle this.... But seems like I'm just too stupid...

As far as I can see, there are no further hacks of that game, yet. But anyway, Mariokart Omega seems to be a track-only hack as well (alrigtht, the drivers sprites are modified a bit and some track-tiles exchanged, but not really an overall-hack like Mario Kart R....).

Yay! MarioKart64 hasn't been a good successor to the original, I agree... anyway: what about the AI-thing in MarioKart?! Is there no skilled hacker on this board willing to figure this out? There'd be plenty new hacks for this wonderful game in the future...

Hey, d4s!! Even though you're done with Mario Kart R, don't you want to create a milestone like Temporal Flux or Lunar Magic for Mario Kart?! We'd all look up to you then... if we don't do it yet^^

Hi there^^

After a long period of time, I updated my website again. It's a complete rewrite of the page with an english version included as well. But the reason for this thread is another one: I created some little tools written in C that make life easier if you want to change palette-data within an SNESrom. Of course, I wrote a tutorial that explains how to handle the tools as well.
If you like, you can give it a try and go to my website at http://www.Digisalt.de. Any feedback is desired.

So long, FloBo

Yeah! That's exactly why I wrote them... perhaps I should write another tool for exporting palettes from ZSNES savestates as well...

Yay^^ Thanks for the feedback from all of you!! Glad you like the new layout

@d4s: There's a decompressor out on the net for SNES9X savestates, so finding data within 9Xstates easily possible, but it's much easier meddling around with ZSNES saves because you don't need decompress and recompress all the time...

@Heian-794: I realized SNES9X kind of messes palettes up when I tested my searcher-tool and recognized it refused to work when using SNES9X-screenshots... anyway ZSNES uses the technically correct decoding for palette data, so I'll stick to this one...

@Ok Impala!: I didn't have much spare time recently, so progress goes slowly... anyway, I'm currently improving my Lufiatools, so this should speed up the translation-process in the future... there'll be another release this summer, I think^^

Anyway, if you want an all in one and easy to handle solution for most of the common games, go to http://www.tototek.com and buy their flashcart.

I have one and I don't want to miss it^^

Well, I didn't know d4s was hacking Mario World (the streaming sound demo left out)... but anyway: Nice looking thing there^^ Great graphics! Especially the BGs. I love them. Also it does seem to have quite a well balanced level of difficulty unlike most of the other crap MarioWorld-hacks out there^^

Looks very promising. Keep it up^^
