Lovely song, Hyperhacker! Its in my head now.

Bad christmas for me this year, folks. Dad's on the dole, mums on less than average London wage, sis having to be on two jobs... *makes you wanna watch It's a Wonderful Life* We did all our food shopping and stuff on Wednesday and this morning but we don't exactly have a lot for presents. I think i may have got a jumper and thats it, but im not sure. Its pretty sparse under that tree.

That said, im sick to death of videogames (the only one I wanted my mum and sis wouldn't get 'because its imported from South Korea'. Jesus Christ, when has that ever stopped anyone?), my mum never buys me CDs i like and the clothes i get are usually too small. I'm happy that the only guaranteed present is a big wad of cash, since my mum knows she doesn't know what i want so i can get all my wanted stuff myself in the January sales... best part of the year, everythings cheap and theres none of the tacky bullshit like you get with Chrimbo. Merry Christmas everyone, and act irresponsibly!

An AR is an Action Replay, like a gameshark.

I bought an AR the other day, but i will only use it for F-Zero GX, since there are certain machine parts in that game that were only available to Japanese versions of the game and the American NTSC and PAL versions didnt get them. Considering their great advantage, I HAD to have them. But other than that, my AR wont be used.

Though i really dont care if people cheat or not. My dad always used to get frustrated with PGR, so he used cheats and he felt better playing it, since before he simply couldn't finish it. Thats a good case where cheats are good (since if you don't have enough skill to complete the game in question, then cheats can show you the things you would otherwise have missed).

Heh, I got 4 presents in total. A clock, a tin of sardines (im not kidding), a really annoying puzzle and... an envelope full of cash. Hooshah!

And for Christmas all day we've had Bob Marley CDs being played very loudly. All-in-all not bad (we still have pressies under the tree for my dad who didn't come over today).

Latest figures suggest 23,000, and rising. The worst hit is Sri Lanka, over 10,000 deaths. What is amazing is, it wasn't just Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Maldives, India, etc. that was hit, but AFRICA was hit too- several areas were destroyed in kenya and Somalia, such was the strength of this quake. Ive been watching footage and its horrific- its not necesarrily the quake that killed, but the tsunamis created from such effects- theres a scene where around 1000 people standing on a beach watch these waves come in, and then a whole tidal wave erupts over half of them and everybody runs. In Sri Lanka whole towns are swept in water and where it isn't overcome theres whole heaps of dead bodies piled on top of each other, mass burial graves being made.Mostly the very young and old died, since they dont have the strength to swim up above the surface.

I have a friend visiting family right now in Sri Lanka, i really hope he's OK. It's amazing that nature can cause this kind of devastation, but It is to be expected.

They are now saying 60,000 initial deaths, a couple of TEN thousands more that are missing, and then there will be the disease that spreads... I wouldn't be surprised if we have over 200,000 deaths by the end of January, disease included. Could you imagine if it got up to over a quarter of a million? Insane...

Too young to work, but for my work experience I did half a year ago I worked for the British news corp ITN. It was good fun, I did various things including archive tape formatting, camera work, satellite work, 3D graphics edtiting and more. The whole thing was like a huge long episode of Teachers (comedy programme that's on in Britain), everyone's either drinking, flirting or smoking. Good times

When Im outta school I'd like to study aerodynamics and become an aerodynamicist, or something in aeronautics. Last chance saloon, id want to be something in physics.

The whole situation is absolutely fucking insane. The American authorities knew of this tsunami outbreak some time ago, but did they tell any of the Asian countries? No. Why? Because, (and this is a direct quote):

"we don't have those countries in our contacts list"

CONTACTS LIST? What is this, a fucking date service? I'll ring Kate but I dont like hannah so I'll fuck her and not have her in my phone book? America can't fuck with countries like this, islands like Nicobar and countries like India simply don't have the capacity to estimate the scale and timing of tsunamis and quakes like this. A huge number of deaths could have been everted if they all contacted each other and told people to move inland, but instead those in the Western world, in the know, fucked Asia and everybody else again by not informing them of what was going to happen. I have a friend in Sri Lanka and I don't fucking know if he's dead or alive and quite frankly its not just the duty of America and the G8/developed countries to inform these countries, but its their duty to help develop these countries so they dont have to rely on dumb fucks like America's senior authorites.

The only county that was informed of the tsunamis was Kenya, by India, and they had just 3 deaths. What a fucking waste of modern communication that no-one bothered to tell anyone anything. They say 80,000 deaths, what they don't tell you is that there is up to half a million people still missing. Even if a quarter of those are deaths, thats still 225,000 deaths sans disease and It makes me fucking sick. Im scared shitless for my friend's wellbeing and Im extremely pissed off and amazed that in the 21st century no-one could tell just 11 countries that this was going to happen. Absolutely fucking amazing (Im sorry for the amount of expeletives but in this situation i really dont care about how bad my language is theres more important things at stake.)

I don't have the money to buy new clothes, let alone CDs. I buy about 2-4 a year, so when I buy I buy carefully. 20-25.

@Abnormal Freak: Care to send some my way? I don't care, I listen to anything.

Posted on 01-07-05 12:00 AM, in just 4 talk about school (^.^) Link
School for me is OK but getting more frustrating. I'm in my final year of GCSEs in Year 11, I already have two from some express schemes my school offer (I did French and Statistics last year, got a C in the former and B in the latter ). I was going quite well until my mock GCSEs started, and I absolutely failed. My predicted grades from the last few years were As and Bs, and an A* for Maths and English, since I was highest in my year for English 3 years running and got a 6.7 on my ellis test, another high. When I got my grades back I looked at them and positively weeped:

English- A (Good)
Maths- B (not bad)
Science- D (poor)
Extra Science- D (poor)
Japanese- F (atrocious, but Japanese isn't exactly a piece of cake after just a year)
PE- A (very surprised, good)
History- B (not bad)
Art- D (poor)
Design et Technology- E (worst grade in the year... just 32%. Considering I want to become an aerodynamicist when I'm older, that's just a tad worrying).

Okay, so 2 As and 2 Bs at mock stage isn't bad. But the number of Ds, Es and Fs I got has really got to me, and Ive had my first detentions in years today after I missed a coursework deadline. I did get a perfect 27/27 on the second English paper but the English lit. was horrible... anyone else here doing GCSEs?

I'm mixed on this. I like to believe that we have own control over our fate and we decide what to do, and that there is no higher power. But at the same time I have a mindset that tells me that what I do is predetermined, or rather that everyone has an inherent... sort of luck, I guess you could say, or spirit, that ultimately shapes how people turn out. Their decisions are theirs, but the actions and consequences of such decisions are changed according to that person's 'luck' and the people around them that would be affected. I know that sounds weird but some people do seem to go through life without much in the way of troubles...

And as for inherent evil and good... I think that a certain amount of bad or good is already in us from our genes, but again your overall 'luck' can change this, as well as those around us. But the set evil/good in us doesn't ever completely shift, there will always be a small amount of it through our lives.

EMLL!!!

Seriously, (R)Evolution wasn't great. The crowd was on fire and it nice to be in Peurto Rico but the PPV wasn't all that. The fact that Trips won and both Eugene and Lita blew out their knees (and were seen being wheeled out in wheelchairs at the airport). is really bad for Vince and the WWE, and wrestling is on a downer. But hey, Brock Lesnar says he's gonna make a comeback... Though why he would is beyond me. In the CFL he's making more money, working less and is getting a less exposed life than in the WWE, yet he feels ready to return (especially after the reaction he got at WM XX?)? I for one would love him back, but for his sake it could be career suicide, and a lot of the guys in the back don't like him.

I also find the storylines baffling. They have Mohammad Hassan and Dhavari (sorry for sp mistakes if any) preaching the 'racist' America they say they are from, yet WWE then go to Iraq and put a show on for the troops? As much as I respected the WWE for doing that show for the troops during the holiday season, the WWE did not have enough vindication in that storyline to use it in Iraq, which obviously shows the absolute bull that the storyline is based on. Hassan could easily have entered as a normal wrestler who was a bad guy for different reasons, but they decide to stick him with a gimmick that absolutely is not needed. Dressing up Gory Guerrero as a turkey is OK, but having this storyline isn't.

I like all rap, but especially Jurassic 5, Arrested Development, A Tribe Called Quest and Eminem. And of course The Beastie Boys.

Well from the family tree of old school hip-hop
Kick off your shoes and relax your socks
The rhymes will spread just like a pox
'Cause the music is live like an electric shock
I am known to do the Wop *wop*
Also known for the Flintstone Flop *flop*
Tammy D getting biz on the crop *crop*
Beastie Boys known to let the beat...
"Mmmh..drop"
Now when I wrote graffiti my name was Slop
If my rap's soup my beats is stock
Step from the tables when I start to chop
I'm a lumber jack DJ Adrock
If you try to knock me you'll get mocked
I'll stir fry you in my wok
Your knees'll start shaking and your fingers pop
Like a pinch on the neck of Mr. Spock

Games I find overrated:

F-Zero GX- Yes everyone thinks this game has amazing graphics and speed and is extremely difficult, and yes I love F-Zero more than anyone but I simply didn't feel the F-Zero spirit when I played it. The newer, goofy characters like Deathborn and Digi-Boy aren't a patch on the X-generation like Mighty Gazelle and Beastman, and the track desgins were just... frustrating, and not in the good way. The fact that there is little railing on the tracks means you can fly off easily (which also triggered the hugely unpopular Spaceflying 'debates' you get in the F-Zero community nowadays...I like flying but it is a little extreme to fly a lap in 4 seconds), and they get pretty repetitive. Its not bad but if it kept some of the lessons F-Zero X taught everyone then maybe it could have been better.

Metal Gear Solid- Bought it. Played it. Sold it in a week. Its a nice concept but it just drags on and on and on and on.

Games I find underrated:

F-Zero MV- The third 2D F-Zero game was pretty much ignored because of its unique nature in gameplay and its hard difficulty, but the physics on this game are near perfect and it has been playtested to death, so nothing 'wrong' can be found. It is solid and enjoyable, and is probably the best time trial game ever devised. The hundreds of top 2D players attracted to nintendo's tourneys in 2001 proves it, only Mario Kart has had a stronger cult following of underground top players.

Bishi Bashi Special- super fun.
