That overworld looks amazing! I have seen many good hacks out there before, but not as good overworlds. That's why I'm not hacking SMW anymore, the overworld and all the 96 levels takes to much time to make. There are also many good hacks released already that I cannot compete with. But this, this is surely a new SMW game!!! The structure of the overworld may look similar to the original game, but that doesn't matter. I hope the levels will have the same quality that the overworld has. Keep up the good work, I can't wait to try this out! (If you need some help with the levels, feel free to PM. But no, that's your choice...I don't want to ask such weird questions). If someone says that this hack is crappy, don't listen to them, but report it to me, and I shall give them their lessons. Haha, just kidding...

Good luck with the hack

You're right. Just to mention it, on my old computer (from 1998), it was only 64mb RAM, but when I bought this bad boy in 2003, I got 1024mb RAM! That was a great, noticable difference. Not only the RAM, but everything got better, including the internet connection. That was a great experience...

Seems very promising, but are you going to release that doc. in English too? It could help people change the text in their hacks (not translate, but change story, names etc.). I know the basics, but there may be something I, and especially new hackers don't know about this

(and most of us don't understand Dutch at all)

Posted on 10-27-04 02:01 AM, in Need Upgrade or new computer? Link
What is: If you want to play the newest games at once, you'd better buy a new one, because when you're upgrading, you may think that "since I upgraded, I have to keep this computer for an extra year" or something. But if you can stand the slowdowns or still can play old games, you can upgrade the old one. My old computer only had 333mhz and 64mb RAM, but I had it until the middle of 2003, when I got this one, which has 2,53ghz and 1024mb RAM.
If money isn't all that matter, you can buy a new one, but you can also upgrade the old one's weak parts. And since I'm not a master in computers, you'd better find it out on your own, but this is at least my advice in some or another way...

Eh, what's a Norwede? I think you were supposed to write Norwegian?! Btw, it's cool to have friends from far away countries

btw, the gas prices in Norway are quite high too, but what's even more strange is that an oil company (Statoil) has many gas-stations here in Norway, but on one station, the price was HALF of the price on another one. Nothing major, just weird

Who knows?

Personally, I think they make editors (out of hex) for making levels, data etc., but they may have the same graphic program etc. for every game...

That's only what I believe though...

Making a new game out of Perfect Dark or Golden Eye would be cool! But I'm sure you must have a lot of knowledge with hex, coding and a lot of stuff before you can start...

Btw, there are some people who are making an almost exact "copy" of Goldeneye in the UT2004 engine. Take a look here: http://goldeneye.downclan.com

If this will be released, you may at least make new levels and stuff for that game in some or anoter way

I found some interesting PD info that will be posted in a thread in about 2 seconds about editing the levels (via GS)!!! And the link that DurfarC provided has some AMAZING shots of retextured GE levels and an amazing PD like gun.

I know they are However, it seems that the project has been in silence in four months now. You can follow the progress and download some more in their forums, but... They need more mappers and people to help them too. I was nearly to join, but I found that I didn't got the time and the experience... Yet....

I think the editors game creators make are a lot of better than those we are making for ROM-hacking now. However, some of the editors made today(like Lunar Magic...) can do the work nice too
