| well I ummmm.... ya see, I well... sorta locked my SMW hack and then accidentaly deleted my backup copy X_X can annyone help me? I would like to get my hack editable again, or do i just start from scratch again(yes again, like for the third time). any help would be nice, but i wont send anybocy my hack, its not done, yet. HELP! | |||

| well, do you thing you could try and make a file then make a copy of it lock it, and look at the changes, i think? then tell me how to dupicate it, that would help alot. | |||

(the lock format). But if you take 2 unedited Roms, lock one and keep the other unlocked, then compare the two in a hex editor you will see only a few minor differences scattered thru out the ROM. There are really only 4 bytes (I think) that you need to cahnge to unlock the rom. But if you want correct graphics, level layouts, and interactions, there are alot more you need to change. I have all of them documented in an .xls file I can just look of og to unlock a rom.
