Percy looked over the gathering crowd of first years from the third step of a stairwell which led further up the tower.

Percy: Settle down, settle down! Yes, I do believe that this is everyone. Very well then ... Welcome, first years, to Gryffindor Tower. I am the Headboy, as you can tell by my badge, Percy Weasly, and you may come to me for any questions or needs that you may have. If I am not around, you could ask for help from one of the very able Prefects. You can tell them apart by the "P" they wear on their uniform.

Now, the room we are in right now is the Gryffindor Common room. It is most 'common'-ly used for doing homework, playing a good game of Wizard's Chess, or just having a chat with some friends. To my left is the House's bulletin board. This is where administrative and student notices go, and it is always wise to check on it every morning before you go down stairs to the Great Hall for breakfast. Speaking of breakfast, it will be served from seven o'clock in the morning until eight thirty. Tomorrow, you will receive your schedules from the Head of our House, Professor McGonagall. Classes start at nine. Now, I'm guessing you are all quite tired, so I will point you in the direction of your dormitories. The boys dormitories go up the stairs behind me and to the left, and for the girls, the same thing but to the right.

Teddylot, being the one student with the most energy. led the way up the stairwell at a dash. Reaching the top, the boys seperated from the girls and headed up another flight. Teddylot was first up and opened the very thick oak door. The room was quite big, enough to fit this years large first year body, and all of the boys' trunks were already brought up and set at the feet of the several four-poster beds, quite a relief as everybody was quite tired.

Teddylot: *leaps through the curtains of one of the four-posters* I call this bed! *sticks his head out for a second* This is Teddylot territory now, punks!

Teddylot gets all up in Bel's face!!!

Teddylot: Eh? Who gave you authority to kick users, Bel? Huh? HUH?! ... yeah, thought so. Now stop scaring away customers!!! And as for you, Kirbynite ... new topic because this bear sucks at intranet fads.

But just to prove to you that I can think at the blink, here's a little poke at a good friend of mine:

Much to Kirby's dismay, a small little teddy bear popped out right in front of his face.

Teddylot: WRONG! This isn't the library. This is the "Media Center" ... for computer nerds and geeks. The library ... is actually on the other side of the school ... right near the Foreign Language hallway.

-----

Zap reluctantly walked into his college class late. He burdened the stares coming from the college kids and walked right up to the teacher who was busy with some papers at his desk. If any one of the older students had not seen him walk in, they were quickly notified by the teacher's loud voice.

Dr. Shelly: And why, may I ask, are you late, sir?

Zap: ... Well, uh, the bus was delayed, and--

Dr. Shelly: Bup bup. So I'm guessing you're one of those "genius" kids from Orange Star I've heard so much about.

Zap: I guess ... sir.

The teacher stood up from his favorite rolly chair, and gave him a vicious stare.

Dr. Shelly: *low murmur* What's your name?

Zap: Uh, Porter. Porter James.

Dr. Shelly: WELL, Porter. You're not in the safe halls of high school anymore. I'm afraid, you've entered the dangerous life of ... the college student--I guess in your case, it would be the semi-college student. So tardiness without valid excuse will not be tolerated! And to finish off ... I'm afraid you're not on my attendance sheet.

Zap: ... wait, what? This is Advanced Calculus, isn't it?

Dr. Shelly: NO ... OF COURSE NOT ... Actually, yes it is. Sit down, Porter. Front row. I want to keep a close eye on you. Unyielding, in fact.

Zap: Yes, sir.

Zap turned around and slumped his shoulders a bit lower. Behind him, the doctor gave a quick little smirk towards his new student. For anyone who saw him, however, he was sure to turn it back into a small scowl. For the student experienced with Dr. Shelly's antics, he would know that the wily doctor was a master at ambiguity. Whether he was sarcastic or not was a very hard task to distinguish. Of course, since Zap didn't know any of this, he slumped down into the closest seat and buried his head in his arms.
The teacher continued by re-introducing, for the sake of the newcomer, what the class would be focusing on over the course of the year and that the following day, there would be a test on everything that they had learned in math.

Dr. Shelly: And since this is an Advanced Calculus class ... I expect everyone to know their stuff, and I don't care how much you forgot over the summer. For those with weak memories, you may take one of last year's textbooks from the shelf by the door before. you. leave.

-----

Mr. Kwasny: Alright, schminks! That is basically what we will be covering over the course of the year. Hopefully, it will all culminate to the A.P. Chemistry exam. If you don't think you can handle it, you might want to take the opportunity to drop down to Honors Chem ... much easier for the average student and less stressfull.

The A.P. Chem teacher didn't really impress Twister all that much. He was overactive, took a liking to all the girls in class and rubbed their backs whenever the class was doing busy work, he used weird expressions and words in his speek, and to top it all off, his voice was at just the right frequency to be annoying.

Twister: *murmurs* Crap ...

Twister placed his head inside his arms for a few seconds, when suddenly a pair of hands touched his back. They were about to start rubbing when Twister sat up with a jolt.

Twister: GAH!!! Don't touch me!

And their went his bonus points for the entire year.

Teddylot: I don't ... seem to remember you ... wait ... no. See, that's the problem with having a "stream of consciousness" mindset. Your mind just ends up wandering, and then you end up somewhere ... like Nantucket ... or Miami ... or somewhere desolate like North Dakota. You know what should happen. South Dakota should merge with North Dakota to make one big Dakota. Of course, it still wouldn't make much difference with the reapportionment.

...

Anyway, yeah, the teacher's lounge is just around the corner, and lucky for you, I ... am a regular.

*echoes the glory*

However, you might want to try adding a bit more shadow around the nose, so that it appears to come out more rather than be flat.

A background would be a good addition, as well. Not necessary, of course, just a beautifier.

Teddylot: Did someone mention my name?

Teddylot, garbed in a hawaiin t-shirt with suitcases in both hands, walks back onto the game board, then looks around blankly at his fellow players from behind a pair of cool aviator shades.

Teddylot: Because if they did, they have impeccable timing. *big smile* Ooh, and check this out. I return with a new authority.

Without another word, Teddylot made his way across the game board onto his favorite square, square thirteen. He gave a small nod toward Grey before sitting down.

Teddylot: This is what you get when you marry ninjas ... a conglomeration of weirdoes. Knights in shining armor, psychics, time travelers, teenagers ... and that's just the icing off the cake.

Twister: Shut up, Teddy.

A short teddy bear and two young men who would probably pass as the youngest attendees of the wedding walk into the chapel ... a little on the late side. Out of respect, Twister and Zap were both dressed in their finest suits. Teddylot, however, sported the same, rough jeans, but this time it was complimented by a cartoonish bowtie reminiscent of an old Bloom County character. The bear, slowly followed by the boys, scurried down the hallway to take a seat behind some familiar faces.

Teddylot: Hey there, Kirb man. Nice digs ... oh, and I see you brought Nakase. Long time no see.

Teddylot stuck his head out from the curtains one more time to see who created the commotion. He looked around, but since he didn't see anything, he pulled his head back into his solitary four-poster then plugged it out at the opposite side. It didn't take long for him to notice Guts at the foot of his bed in a awkward-looking position.

Teddylot: ... I pity the foo'! *pulls his head back in*

----------

Zap and Twister were next to stroll into the large room. On entering, both of their faces lit up at the sight of it. Twister raised his hand to shoulder level, and Zap fived it then shook it. They both tried to dim their happiness, but it was still easily noticeable in their new manner. Zap took a bed right next to Teddylot, but Twister, who knew what it was like to live with the teddy bear, took a bed on the opposite side of the room.

----------

Meanwhile, on the girl's side of the stairs, Kim plopped down onto her designated bed. The day was an exhausting one and she was ready to fall asleep right there and then but knew she had to get a few things done first. She sat up and covered her mouth with her hand to hide a long yawn. She took a few steps toward the foot of her bed and opened her trunk. She slid off her goggles and let them drop on top of her clothes, then began removing her stuff and placing them in the closest dresser. While organizing herself, she started to think about the day and what was to come. From what she could tell, this lifestyle would take a lot of acclimating to.

Teddylot had the perfect view of the Sim-Battle Arena complex from his brand new high-rise office near the top of Acmlm Tower. The teddy bear sat comfortably in a cushy, oversized swivel chair looking outside at the latest hyped battle, doing his newfound duty by overviewing the Sim Arena's battles and by making sure they went smoothly.

Teddylot: ... quite the battle ... it's drawing a large crowd, as well ... hmmm.

The teddy bear pulled out his notepad and began to doodle out the situation for himself. Using the wonderful art of illustration, he figured possible explanations for the anomaly of the large crowd. His first doodle portrayed a battle between two highly paid powerhouses; the second, a doodle of garbage men at a union meeting; and the third, some sort of situation concerning the infamous (and highly feared, I'm sure) Seph2k4. The last one had fire coming out of his mouth.
Teddylot pondered the situation trying to figure out what was going on until his pictionary session was disturbed by some lower-level bureaucratic worker.

Zap: Umm, Teddylot?

The bear swiveled around in his chair to face the serf, then pulled the pencil he had been using out of his nose. Only his head could be seen from behind the desk.

Teddylot: I've been in this office for two days, and already you come hear to annoy me with a "matter." This better be good. You know I hate it when people disturb my gregarious work.

Zap was used to this attitude of Teddylot's so he just brushed off the misused words and offensive banter to give his message.

Zap: Just to let you know ... there's been a new challenge in ... *he flipped through his notes* Sim Battle Arenaaaaaaaaa ... A.

Teddylot: I know ... I've been watching it. It's quite the battle actually, but there's a crowd anomaly I'm trying to solve.

Teddylot swiveled back toward the window and threw his doodlepad at his workman's workman.

Teddylot: Make something out of that, will you?

Zap: There's something your overlooking though.

Teddylot: Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of an aerodynamically sound paper airplane ... of chaos.

Teddylot turned about on his swivel once more to face the no-man's friend.

Zap: That fight ... it's a challenge ... to you. Well, and that other kid, whoever he is.

Teddylot: Ah yes, the barcode kid.

Zap: ...

Teddylot: ... *shoves a pencil up his nose*

Zap: ... soooooo?

Teddylot: Sew? ... no, I'd rather not.

Zap: ... the battle?

Teddylot: Right ... so, what do you think we should do about that?

Zap: Maybe you should accept the challenge.

Teddylot: You know, I was going more in the direction of an amendment ... or better yet, a Supreme Court decision that lies in my favor. It would work because they have credibility.

Zap: Unfortunately, that's something you don't have, and if you don't go down there and fight, you will never have it.

Teddylot: ... Right ... could you repeat that? I had gone into my ADD drive since you came in.

Zap: Go down there and fight!!!

Teddylot: Oh ... why?

Zap: Because--

Teddylot: --Good enough for me. Now leave me, dirt, while I suit up to impress the world.

Zap: ... but you don't have any armor?

Teddylot: True, but I also don't have my pants on right now. Now leave before I call the popos.

Teddylot: You know ... we should have our own theme song.

And with that, Zap and Teddylot's silence were finally broken. Zap continued the deviation by sparking up some conversation.

Zap: Well, Kirb, it may actually be "for your benefit," since the treaty may entail a pact keeping the Gu-Goombas in the large part out of the town. Of course it's not right and the ranch should be nullified, but that can't happen if the town keeps compromising with them. Sometimes ... force is a necessity, you know.
