How many of you are skaters? How good are you?

I'm not exactly what you'd call pro but I'm getting there. Slowly but surely.

Since you seem to be into newer types of metal, I'd reccomend these artists:

Children of Bodom
Opeth
Meshuggah
In Flames
Dillinger Escape Plan (Beware, they are NOT easy on the ears)
Otep
Fear Factory
Lamb of God
Pantera (Thier semi-new stuff, try the album "Far Beyond Driven")

If you're looking for something different:

Megadeth has a new album coming out soon by the name "The System has Failed. I'd also reccomend the "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying" and "Rust in Peace" albums.

Old-school Slayer is great, check out the albums "South of Heaven" or "Reign in Blood", or possibly "Hell Awaits". They have a more nu-metal-ish album out called "God Hates Us All" as well, but I don't like it much, it seems forced.

You didn't mention Iron Maiden, check out the albums "The Number of the Beast" and "Powerslave". Iron Maiden is one of the biggest influences in a lot of modern punk and metal music.

I just got done listening to 'Episode 666" by In Flames. Heavy new-school downtuned guitar tone mixed with riffs that are more likely to come from old-school metalheads makes for an excellent song. If you brought up the tone of the guitar and made the singer more intelligible, I'd say this could pass for an Iron Maiden song.

Wow, I completely forgot about Pantera, Otep, Iron Maiden, Fear factory, And Lamb of God.
As far as the other bands you mentioned, I shall familierize myself with them.

Have you heard of any of the bands I listed?

Not all of them, but several. Korn, Metallica, Slipknot, Alice Cooper, Tool, and Deftones I'm especially familiar with.

Figures. But hey, if you like their music you should check out these other bands.
you can find many of them at HXC RADIOU.COM, and at Solid State Records.
(don't know how to create link.)

All around my place we got 'no skateboarding' signs and stuff. Also, all the people who spell it sk8ter are EVIL!!! Its skater no sk8ter.

Well there are some skaters who do just want to cause trouble.
I have a place were me and my friends go to skate. And my friends get into fights with those sort of 'skaters' there. For some reason their always having a conflict about who their sponsered by and such.

Elaborate.

Common Example:
"yo man, lets go to the mall and smoke weed. sounds rad."
"lets go use stairs and rails in their unintended fashion! cool."
"hmm... baggy, or extra baggy. Hey, vibrant boxers! Definitely extra baggy."
"im punked out. look how i wear my mom's makeup and have my hair died a bright blue!"
"hey! look, someone who isnt punked out! lets get em!"
"yep. my tight plad shirt under my tight black shirt looks so cool. it really matches my knit hat which I like wearing in summer. it also matches my cool spiked piece of leather. Frivilous! Uh, I mean, punk-edd out!"
"hygiene is for pussies."
"too cool for school, yo."

Thats all for now. catch my drift?

Edit: Indeed, witeasprinwow. The mentioned example usually can barely skateboard for shit. I respect those who can skateboard well, and do it as a hobby. Nothing wrong with that in my books.

Hey I completly agree with what your saying and I don't like posers eather exept
I have friends, guy friends who wear black nail polish/makeup and colour their hair. But that dosen't mean all are like that. Just try not to be too stereotypical. Please?

I second that notion.

I really like the animation, but the characters and story are sub par.

I third that notion.

Although most cartoons of that sort don't have the greatest of story lines, that one I think has the worst one yet.

I dyed my hair three days ago. It's supposed to be bright red but... since I can't bleach my hair it turned out to be this purplish-burgondey colour, high lights?

I learned how to do those things in about 2 weeks. not bad, i think. But since then, i got lazy and never picked up the board again.

For a while, inmy living room, people would practice allies and flips. I had a small 4 foot by 4 foot area where people would just hop up and down. just outside of the area was the couch, and a old style console TV that sat ont he floor.

At least 10 times a night, somone would shoot the board into someone's shins as they sat on the couch, or into the picture tube of the TV.

Damn, those were the days. :'(

Alot of people came over to my apartment in those days. And from my short time in skating, the best skaters were the poeple that i had no idea could skate. The people that LOOKED like skaters.. the ones that fit the stereotypical part.. they coudlnt do shit compared to the average joe's that stopped by and said "Oh neat, a board, mind if i play with it?".

But really, Since the title is "Skater Punk", i gotta mention the music.

THE SUICIDE MACHINES FUCKING KICK ASS.

Ahhh, so you like Punk Rock?
What bands?
On a different note, I went on this trip and I did the unthinkable. I left my skate board. I'm sure that it's not completely 'unthinkable' I guess the right word would be unbelivable. I'm sad nonetheless.

Yes I have had an uncomfortable mask experience.
A clown mask. It had these googley eyes that had spings in them, and there was a straw connected to it and whan you blew in the straw the eyes popped out. But my question is what good is it to have eyes like that on a mask? It makes it so you can't see.

I don't understand. Usually rocks have pretty good balance. And another thing, you can't slide up hill.

Sounds sick! Maybe when your CD comes out I'll have to hear it.

Maybe we should continue this conversation in the entertainment section?

you forgot flying things...

none of the above freak me out, but they annoy me, which makes me want to viciously attack them despite the human behind the suit...

not that I've EVER done anything of that sort....

don't you judge me, I see you staring at me through the screen....

Oh yes, flying things. Thank you. I am also afraid of flying things.
Butterflies, Moths, flies, ect...
