EDIT: Yeah, it's pretty damn glitchy though.

Oh yeah, don't go past the Pipe in the end of the first part of the level, where you're upside down...

Well, don't do it three times.

Also, if you try and glitch through the ice blocks. (Burn a lower one, duck underneath and stand) you can do some really trippy things.

It screws with Luigi's collision detection, but the fireballs work fine.

EDIT: *Shouts out* Also, if you hit the vine in the Lava area while running with the Power-Bar full, you spin up it, instead of climbing!

A SMB hack with Sonic graphics would be awesome...

As in, changing Mario, Toad, etc..

Then again, you would have to do an assload of ASM if you didn't want a plain recolor of Sonic for the second character...

Not only that, but it kills the idea of a level hack... Only two other objects alligned vertically would really be lame...

I want to see somebody just hack it so, in Overworld (1-1) type levels, there second row of the ground block would be something different.

If I could, I would hack it like that, not as you have shown.

What I mean is, that now you can't have more than 2 objects alligned vertically in any area above the "ground"

Meaning, the already-limited capability for making SMB levels is now... Less...

Also, this ground means you can't use stuff like Mushroom platforms with it.

I'll assume this is also in SMB3, but nonetheless, It's something that could be improved..

In the area where you get the Racoon Power up, and are able to fly...

If you run, get the turbo bar full, jump, turn around, then run, Luigi doesn't really hold his arms up while "charged" like normal. Also, if you try and fly, you won't get much luck....

If you are running for a long enough time, the bar may also suddenly empty...

Hope I described that well enough.

EDIT: It's in the original game... I should know that..

It'd be cool if it was fixed though.

Gah! How ironic, I didn't think of that.. *Points to name*

Anyways, it'd have to be more gray-ish, because a real-black Shadow would.. disappear in the underground, and castle levels.

Well, I've got a quick question...

So, in this new SMB hack of mine, there will be no Super/Fire Mario, for a reason..

Anyways, I've essentially gotten rid of every "Big" sprite of Mario, and while changing the smaller ones, I came across a problem...

The "Standing sprite" is just the often-used "small" head on another two tiles, which are just Y-axis flips...

And, there is only one tile for this.

How can I add another tile to this, and make it so all the of "Big" Mario sprites are pointing to the same tile? (There is a blank tile that's being used next the 1-up, so I could make them all lead to that.)

I might say that it's a dangerious magical object that increased the size and strength on a person, but makes them invisible!!!

Err...

Gwahahaha! I mananged to do it on my own....

There is bunch of Values for the graphics on TEK, and I managed it from there...

Well, I fixed the standing sprite. I'm going to have fun with the hack.....

Oh yeah, second question.

Say, the character I use NEEDS four colors, (One is black, for the outline)

Anyways, this will probably be a whole lot more complex than anything I could accomplish.

But, as in SMB2, where Mario had white for his eyes.... Gah, let's see if I can explain this.

Anyways, the game had more than one sprite moving with Mario. (I'll assume.)

So, a transparent color would show whatever is behind him. (In my case, it would be whatever is needed for an outline)

I could use the palette of the blocks for this, but I don't have any idea how I could make something follow around a character, in this fashion.

Hmm... I think I explained this good enough, but I don't know.

Also, I could rid the game of any powerup information to help stash this info.

Also, I know that this would reduce the amount of enemies to be shown on the screen at once. I'm fine with that.

I'm 15, male, about 125, and around 5'6".

I'm not sure how I manage to keep my weight so low though. I'm a lazy ass, and lacking motivation for most things....

Weird though, my body itself is fairly strong. It's my arms and legs that need work.....

Running and pushups would probably help. I dunno though, It might be a pain to explain to my Mom why I'd want to take a daily jog. She might think I'm off doing drugs or something. (My sinuses get screwed up if I run in the cold, and my eyes get bloodshot and glazed. I'm also sort of a jittery, if I try and push myself.) And it really does look like I've been doing something. O.o

My main concern is just to increase my stamina. I'm out of it fairly quickly, and a good punch to the arm or something hurts more than I think it should.

The main reason I want to do this, is because right now, I have to have every level black, no scenery, and it still doesn't work when you get hit as small Mario, or enter the castle at the end of the level.

The last one probably won't work. It's the boarder around the character, and that palette would most likely have to be constanly changing.

I'll look at the sprites though.

Trombone.

Surprised some others play it. Heh.

A little while ago, at a Basketball game (The band has to go to them) I slammed a hit in the back of the head with my slide. Was going from 1st to 5th position, with some fast-based eight notes. (At about 110 beats a minute)

I couldn't play the next few songs, because I was laughing too hard.

Yeah, well I helped discover glitches like that in SADX! Hah! I almost got into the Twinkle Circuit level with Tails! (The level entrance coding isn't there.)


Anyways, I love this. Sonic hacking may give me some desire to really start hacking again.. I may try it out. Just need to find a rom, and some other goodies.

An SMB hack? I've got to help. ^.^

Well, the "Cannot Send Source Object" error only happens with certain objects.

It also works with both Blocks and Foes.

Oh, beware the YY-Mario "Increase number of objects" command.

It takes the objects from the next hex level. (Getting another object in 1-1 will take the first object in 1-3)

However, when you DO take an object from a previous level, it will be added on, in a new page at the end of the level, allowing for bigger levels.

At least, that's how I do it, when I need to.


Just make sure you don't shrink the following level, like 1-3.
