| Only on XP systems, it seems. Windows 98 has no trouble loading it. I tested the problem, and it's the music. For some reason, Windows XP stalls when loading the music. There was gonna an option for disabling music and sound so that XP users wouldn't have to load the music, but with that came a weird speed decrease that would screw up netplay. I don't know the cause of it, it seems to just be a problem with the multimedia engine I'm using. I'll try to find a way to make netplay work with that, though. The menus are getting kind of outdated, and I'd have no place to put where to select a custom skin, so I think I'm gonna redo the menus for the next version as well. And maybe those boss tweaks I talked about. A tournament of eight? Might be tricky to set up, but alright. Some notes: If the server's full and somebody else tries to connect, the game won't even show up for them. Also, if you're in-game and somebody else joins or disconnects, the game will stop. In the future I may make it so that if somebody just leaves, their character dies and that's it. You'll also have to decide on one of two modes: Pure(original Nintendo rules) and Enhanced(with all the new stuff). Anyway, I ain't signing up for a whole new forum just to join a tournament for my own damn game, so just put me the list, k? Pffft, 50 hours, is that all? I could do that if I REALLY wanted to as long as I was fed. And lack of ANYTHING for two days, whether it be food, drink, or sleep, still shouldn't kill you. What a weakling. |

Well, it looks like you'll get to try out custom skins in your tournament now, because the next version is here! You'll find it on the download page as usual. Along with that are the tweaks to the bosses(the edge warp has been disabled, and they get some invincibility time after every break point. Bowser also actually chases you now, instead of just randomly flying around the screen.) and bug fixes for stunned players and form changing(hopefully no more falling through the floor when taking items). |
I'm also gonna be gone for a while, from Sunday to Thursday. No more game development then. However, if I have access to the Internet, I might make a little guest appearance in your tournament. NOTE: Everyone in the tournament must download the new version to play against each other. Different versions are incompatible. Also, I told ya I'd get the new version out by Saturday, Zerodius. 11:40 PM Saturday, but hey, I know my deadline!

Trust me, the pole doesn't compare to what I'm about to list. I got up to about 2500 when the guy lauched a rainbow flashing ball that WIPED the whole screen for an instant kill. |

Not bad for a simple gimmicky game, although it gets kinda boring after you hit 100, and the looping music track gets annoying. |
