Well, duh! You overwrited pages 0 and 1. You need to change the page to a blank page first or you will mess things up. If you don't know how to change the page, read the help file.

Worked for me. Try redownloading it.

As from what I have played (3 or 4 levels), this is good and fun. I especially like the graphics of the cave levels as they are really different... which is good.

Good work so far...

Too bad Geno will probably never be seen again due to copyright issues with Square. Remember, Square helped make Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars... same applies with Mallow, Smithy, etc...

From playing the demo in stores, I actually like this game. I like how the stage sometimes falls and either hits you or the enemies. The graphics are good, too. I like the paper look. I have to get this game... so I will wait until I get paid from my new job... then get it.

Well, the fullscreen thing is annoying... but it is a good program nevertheless. There aren't much options, but these are good for making sprites. Good work.

Hehehe... you can tell the difference here... although it is only a graphics change (and compared to the original, this one is worse). I will change the icon for the extra levels only because... well, the level tiles use 2 palettes... and the third level (which is Harry's Hot Caves) uses a palette I cannot use for it... no blue. This restricts me...

Take a guess on the level name.

This one is better than Sprite-o-matic considering the features, although since Sprite-o-matic isn't finished, I can't say this is better... except for now.

Good editor. One that I will surely be using.
*makes a new sprite*
Yay!

EDIT: And for the unknown sprite commands.

1: Set this to make the sprite jump into a shell and turn into a Koopa. Used primarily for shelless Koopas (duh!).

Ummm... that is all I found so far...

I am going to agree with MajinBlueDragon on this. This forum is completly out of control. One word posts, loads of flames, no screenies, stupid questions. This forum is just... undescribable.

I would recommend everyone look at the rom hacking and Super Mario World hacking forums and look at everyone's post there (I would strongly suggest the rom hacking forum, as there are more sophisticated people there). I still can't believe some of you aren't banned because of breaking all of these rules. How are you getting away with this? I have yet to see an admin come into this forum. I have seen a mod or two, but they can't do a thing because it isn't their forum to mod!

Dylan's post makes perfect sense. You all think you can do this and that but in reality, you can't! That is why this forum is cluttered with threads stating that you are making a hack and you don't provide screenies. That just ticks me off. How many of you have completed a Pokemon hack and others actually liked it? Hardly anyone.

Now before you start going off stating that I don't hack Ruby/Sapphire or any of the Pokemon games (I know I don't hack Ruby/Sapphire), I have played around with the editors and such. It is a powerful editor, but Ruby/Sapphire isn't my kind of game. My kind of games are Pokemon G/S, Yoshi's Island, Super Mario World, and Super Mario Bros. 3. Why? That is me. I like those games. I am not saying R/S are bad, but to me they aren't as good as G/S. You all seem to be hacking R/S all because you like the Pokemon theme. That can be good, but in this case it is bad. You have to hack with whatever tools you have available and you don't even know how to use the tools! How many of you know how to use a hex editor? Not many. Why? YOU DON'T TRY TO FIGURE IT OUT!!! If you don't know how to do something, first read the help file. Then try to figure it out yourself a few times. Then when you still can't figure it out, you go on here and ask. Also, try doing some thread digging. You will find all your answers in old buried threads, thus stopping the clutter here.

Sorry for this flame, but I just can't take this forum anymore. Assign another more active mod here to clean up the mess. Kawa is a good mod, but that is just one person. If there were two, this forum would be much easier to manage.

You are still working on it? Yay!

If I do recall, you did make the "Nintendo Presents" bigger to have a picture in it. I have tried to find the data that does this and this is all I found (ASM is easy once you have the data).

http://www.freewebs.com/cpub13/presentinfo.txt
(copy and paste to new window)
Data traced from when "Nintendo Presents" appears.

I have done some interesting stuff to this. I changed it from loading 70 in STA $0201 and made it have a different Y position. LDA #$01 into STA $1DFC makes it have a different sound effect other than a coin (I think 17 made it have thunder). LDA #$0F into STA $0DAE made it flash depending on what you load (0F made it flash 0 times, 1F made it flash 1 time when it went to dissappear). I am looking into how the rest of that data works, but I am stumped. Maybe this data could somehow be added into the editor in some way?

Also, when you set whether or not it explodes into smoke or falls, it does the opposite... fix that.

Only one thing bothers me about that moon: it isn't perfectly round. Other than that, the moon is a great idea and gives the map a feel as though Mario is up in a mountain or something like that.

1: One question: Why is the star there? Isn't it not supposed to be there until you beat the game once?
2: Funny name, looks hectic.
3: Good.
4: Its a cave level... other than that... don't know what to say about it since there isn't a lot of action...

Overall: Good work.

That is some nice data there. It helps a whole lot. Especially the sprite interaction area. I will probably experiment with this data some more and see what happens...

Duh! The sprite data isn't just all of it arranged perfectly aligned according to sprite. There are a bunch of different tables that use that info for the different sprites. One table is for graphics, another is for code, etc. etc.

Don't look up the whole thing as you won't find sprite data like that.

Not only Final Fantasy VI, but Yoshi's Island has the same problem.

From using this, I have yet to see bugs. Although this isn't a bug, but I would like a key that the user could set to start/end tracing. That way, it would be easier to get something precisely...

That was using Evil Peer's SNES9X Tracer. I don't know of a link directly to it, but it is a very easy to use tracer. Try looking on Zophar's Domain. I am sure it is on there...

Yeah... Lunar Magic, Mario Improvement 3, and whatever that editor is called for SMB2.

You can't edit the levels for the SMB portion yet... unless someone finds the data.

...wow... just... wow...

And that is just from seeing the screens! I just showed my brother (who doesn't really like to see edits of Super Mario World mainly because he doesn't play the original much...) and he was even amazed at the screenshots! That shows that this is one very, very, very good hack.

When I first loaded up the hack in ZSNES, I was blown away by the presents logo and title screen. Noticing that you disabled 2 player support, I started a new game. That was one intro I will never forget.

I entered Yoshi's House expecting an awesome ASM hack. Indeed I did with the training room. I only got 1:25 in it though...

I played through the levels and was just thrilled with the background for the first few levels. The cave background was just... wow... it had a cool effect, an effect I have seen in Yoshi's Island. Just amazing. I beat the boss and then entered Alto Plains. I loved the second part in the level with the escalator thing. Simple trick, but I would have never thought of it...

After beating that, I couldn't believe what then happened. Wow... I was impressed.

I will keep playing this for a while... a long while...

I remember this hack from a very long while ago... was it from before the board crash? Yes it was... how could I remember it then...?

The overworld is great. There really isn't a general theme, which is good. Good work.

Next time, before asking a stupid question like that (yes, it is stupid) try looking on Zophar's Domain. If you can't find a link there (there are plenty of links in these threads, trust me) then search in Google. Make sure you look in Google if you are unsure of something...

Now I am in a predicament. I am thinking of getting rid of shading completly in order to make it look more like a cartoon. What is your opinion on this? Do you think it will be good or bad?

Also, I have disabled 2 players (Alaric's 1 player hack helped) so now I can remove Luigi's palette on the overworld and make Joe look better on it. No screenies just yet.
