I was wondering where I could find information about pointers. Specifically, I want to combine levels together/make several entrance points to an area, but I don't know how to do this. I understand I have to edit the header a bit for the next area, but that's about it.

edit: nevermind, I figured it out.

Awesome! I love Startropics. I like the way you're going with this, keep it up for sure.

Is there a program out there that does tracing on GBA .sav files?

Basically what I want is some program that will tell me whenever a certain area of code is read/written in a .sav file while a gba game is being played.

Here''s a thought for the final word (assuming DD doesn't already have something planned)

Have the final world of each character be similarly themed, but different, but in the final screen/area of that world, you have mario approach Bowser's castle from the left, whereas Luigi comes from the right, but you can see the other person's path on the otherside. So you can see the path your brother took, but can't actually go on it.

Giant Munchers do! Though I doubt anyone really expects to be able to freeze them.

I enjoy a map where I can pick and choose which level I can play, rather than being forced to play all of them.

why? What parts do you intend to work on?

Edit: I was basically thinking the same thing as you, Kawa-oneechan, but didn't want to be so direct, so I wanted to see what he was willing to do for the hack or if there was a good reason he couldn't do these parts himself. Sorry, in the future I'll make sure posts have a least a sentence or two.

The shooting pigs are one of my favorite enemies ever. Hopefully they will have a good replacement.

Overall, the demo is very nice and I can't wait to see how you do the rest of the game. On a little downer note: in Tree Zone 2 (the one with the sap), at the end of the level where there is the giant vertical colomn of sap, if you fall down from the top screen beside the far right wall, it counts as a death instead of screen transition. I also couldn't get back up to the top screen from the bottom in that part.

I think that was his way of saying "I want to test it, and given my experience, I expect to get picked".

As for me? Not enough time, but I do look forward to the full release.

I think he understood that he was using the map editor, but was curious what he was using for the actual levels. SInce I'm pretty sure no one does just overworld hacks.

Does anyone have any information on how the e-reader connects for those trainer e-cards and how the data is transferred to the cart?

For the other e-switches (in Japan only), there was one that turned all 1-up mushrooms into 3-up moons, one that shortened the P-meter for flying, one that slowed down the timer, one that gave Luigi his E-world physics (like SMB2), and one that changed the enemies into more difficult versions and increased the points.
Don't ask me for details about the last one, I'm still trying to look into it.

Is there such a thing as an E-reader emulator that you simple specify files to "scan" in instead? Would such a thing even be possible?

Damn, I was hoping for a bit more. I am actually trying to work on Super Mario Advance 4 stuff, but since Bouche has disappeared and I can't find any info for it, I was hoping there might be some common information here that could carry over.
Thanks for your time, and carry on.
