Is it possible to change Fire mario bouncing fireball into a straght line fireball like Luigi in SSBM (Super Smash Bros.)? If it is, can anyone show me how to do it.

After a long look at hints for SMW hackers, I realise that I rushed my hacks out before going through them throughly, checking for bugs and gliches before I send them out. Well, I went over this game 6 times, and it's just the way I want it. It's a revise of my first hack with new enemies, a better storyline, and Luigi's SSB fireballs.














I did the best I can with what I had and what I know, so its up to you guys to criticize my game's backgrounds, rain, and overworld without even playing the hack. I worked real hard to make this game enjoyabe, so I hope everyone have fun playing this hack.

I'm not changing or going to change anything and i'll tell you why, You only judged the screenshots and didn't even play the hack. The chests are cool, I'm tired of the same ? blocks in every hack. The status bar clock is a good change instead of TIME. Chucks heads is funny, it wasn't supposed to be professional. Changing things is NOT easy.The rain looks good WHEN YOU PLAY THE HACK. I don't know how to make a screenshot of rain look nice for everyone. Everyone got ripped BG and FG in thier hack, I don't. I don't know how to change my fireball the green color I wanted without screwing up something else. and I don't know how to change the color of the platforms. I wanted something different than the same lameass "Mario save the princess" hack. Luigi's colors are from SSBM and they look GOOD. It's funny because when I play my hacks in front of people in school, in the library, or at home with my friends, they were blown away with my graphics, level layout, and Luigi's fireballs, and they play SMW just as much as everyone here. BUT, when I show and share my hacks to this board I get this:

"The item box frame have got a different color. Are those chests used ? blocks? It's not looking good anyway..."

"The Start and level tiles look out of place, and the border is just weird"

"What the hex did you do to Chuck and the coins? And turn that damn clock off"

"Luigi looks odd for some reason. Shorter than usual? Aanyway, the BG looks good but the FG, not so much. The platform is a pink color, the SMB3 blocks need to be blue or something (just change them), and the flower is messed up"

Don't worry about it though. I won't post my hacks here anymore. People expect too much out of you here, espacially from my 1st hack. No one wants to help, though everyone wants to quickly criticise everything. It got aggervating, but I finished my game perfectly the way I wanted it not what everyone else want. I worked TOO DAMN HARD on this hack for it to be criticised just by my stupid screenshots. So have fun criticizing.

2) Two things here: with the chests. I like the idea, but they just look funny floating in the air In the status bar, there's an 'L' instead of 'Luigi'. Something from an earlier version?

It was supposed to be the 2nd player,But I turned my game into a 1 player with that patch.

5) What does the 'T' stand for? I could see it having an 'S' for 'Start', but 'T' makes no sense

T stands for my name. I liked it


Other than that, things look good One last question. There's a few levels with those bird enemies you can jump and get a ride on. What sprite do they replace, or is it custom made?

There Monty moles i changed to those birds on SMB 2

If you think about it, really hard, its a Mario game, in a mario game, blocks float in the air, wierd things happen in a mario game. so i still don't see anything wrong with the chests.

I'm not trying to take this stuff personal, or create drama. This is the only site I can share my fun with SMW. but I'm done for a while, I'm tired and I'm going to bed.

Well, I fixed the graphics people wanted change, I hope this is to your liking:



Mushroom,block, and coins are changed



Fire Flower has depth in it



The all popular Chargin chuck head is finally changed back.

If someone tells me how to change Luigi's fireball pallette green without fucking up other colors, that will be real great. Sorry abut my rudeness and anger yesterday...

music-only SMB3 patch


To do this, take two blank SMW ROMs, and your hacked ROM.

1.) Patch one blank ROM with the Super Demo World 1 IPS and then patch the other with the Super Demo World 3 IPS.
2.) Use Lunar IPS to create an IPS patch using the SDW1 patched rom as the original, and the SDW3 and the modified ROM.
3.) Viola! You have your music-only SMB3 patch.

If I had misread that thread and they indeed did know how to do this, sorry for repeating it again.



When I tried this,it didn't work, corrupted my data, and destroyed my hack (made a backup first). Can you just post the patch for the music-only hack?

Try this:

1. Download the Demo World (not Demo world: the legend continues) hack at the FuSoYa site in the "Useful resources" threed.

2. Load the demo world and base your hack on this game.

3. Go to the level you want the blocks in.

5. Click on the half-way turned turn block, check on the the box, and select GFX FE.

The new blocks should be in the Direct map access page 3, use them as you please.

Well, I bought it yesterday, and beat it the same day (Roughly 2 Hrs). Heres what i thought:

If you like SF 64, you'll love this game. More objectives, weapons, explorations, and goodies. SF fans favorate. The one thing that bothered me is that there is no co-op mode, something that Nintendo SAID was going to be the "hot spot" of the game. Namco pulled it out when the game was released, that pissed me off. The multiplayer battles is real fun, but if you don't have 4 Players playing, the giant stages can be consuming for 2 players, and weapons are a chore to find before your opponents comes blasting your hide.

Single player is a blast. I loved the walk on foot battles and jump into your vehicles for the fight, although I found it annoying to constenly have to save my partners from enemies (2 other partners is free, but I have to stop what I doing to save them).The story line is very engaging, the graphics are great (think Metroid Prime),and the controls are nice (you have to get used to them).

I heard the bad reviews, but If youre a die hard SF fan, this game has enough of SF 64 in it with new twist

Kitten Yiffer didn't spoil anything, especially co-op mode. Nintendo sent out a statement saying that Namco pulled the option out before the final release after many fans sent angry letters and email looking for it, so it not unlockable. It may still be somewhere in the game if someone knows how to use a gameshark...

By the way, That SF adventures comic quickie was real funny, Kitten Yiffer

Well, what's that then, Link2004? While it's not that special, some people would probably like to find out about all the secrets, to heighten the enjoyment.


Yeah, I see it your way now. A secret is a secret no matter what it is.

Either way, I still wish that there was more single player mode unlockables. I mean, the original Starfox was carried by a well-thought out single player mode, and it scored well with people, so why not have at least half of the extra goodies be in Single Player Mode?

I agree, SF 64 didn't have good unlockables like this game, on the other hand, most unlockables on this game work only for mulitplayer, and some are stupid....I wished at LEAST you could've chosen different charachters in single player mode. Falco and Krystal are my favorate ones.

Well, anyone played Multiplayer throughly in Assault? I hope it's more than bloody somersaults, many of my multiplayer matches in SF64 lead to me and my sister flying in circles after each other. Not that much fun...

Me and my brother played multiplayer, I stated before that the stages are way too big for 2 players. You'll get the most out of multiplayer with 4 Players. and yes depending on the situation, you might have the same battles like in SF64. I remember when you choose to be on foot,(SF 64) and someone else chose the arwing, you could'nt even shoot a person in the air while you were on foot (if you did, it was very hard to do). In SF assault, you're chances of knocking them out the sky depends on the weapons you collect.

Wasn't there a arcade version coming too?

I really don't know, it's possible.

The first time I released this game it had bugs and graphic problems galore. I changed and fixed a lot of things including Dr. Mario graphics, backgrounds, enemies, those levels from SMW (I know you guys hate playing those old levels in a hack), and some overworld graphics. I'll post these screenshots to see what you guys think and I can make the changes accordingly:
