This isnt my hack , someone pm'ed me to post this thread, its not bad though what ive tried so far, doesnt need good exgfx to be good, just weird levels which arent to hard either .

one reason is so we can all make hacks of our own using graphics ripped instead of the default graphics, also for those people who DONT have all 3 or 4 consoles or any of the older versions they can use this to see what they missed out and dont forget hes adding more levels to this as well so no its not the same at all to any of the other versions.

for the bg why not use a darker cake colour ? it would have to stand out though from the foreground but could look pretty cool if done right

well id say that having smb 3 mario is really just an extra , something to make it original but if you want your hack to be outstanding you need :

Hand drew gfx makes it unique!
Asm and Sprites See above but also makes it alot more cool (BMF's SMO is a prime example)
smw style overworld would be preferable as smb3 is too square but is perfect for new hackers who struggle with ow editing

you can see what ive voted for im just thinking what would appeal to me if i was some random guy who saw a new mario game , this is the sort of thing id like to be in it (Not that id no what asm is but id expect some sort of new features so that works)

im sure you released a demo of this a while ago , i remember playing it , infact i think i still have it but its looking even better now, you dont see many hand drawn exgfx only hacks about now do you?

Can i test lost levels please? because i know that game almost too well, ive finished it in 1 sitting with mario before so i should be able to spot glitches a mile off and also can i test the original mario bros as well, i know that game just not as well as TLL because it was too easy

Well ive only just got round to testing it as i was stuck in mablethorpe since friday due to car trouble and ive not found any bugs that havent already been mentioned but im sure the mushroom doesnt jump NEARLY as high in all stars , you can fall through the blocks with the 1 ups and mushrooms in 1-2 which led to a couple of deaths .

Ideas :

Make the e-world accesible after beating 8-4 then you can use the powerups in a-d but dont put a feather in there, wait until you clear D-4 before allowing the player to get the feather, also how about like a bonus level like the switch palaces but more fun.

But how about you put the bowser battle at the end of the e-world? like 1 final level which is just the fight with bowser that way, you dont have to edit any of the levels from the original and you can still end the game.

i have a question though, are you going to use events on the ow? or is it just gonna be a level select?

ermm.. at least credit peter AC for using his base hack, dont say you didnt because ive checked, all his levels are in there and the V1.0 is still in the corner, which also means its not the latest verison of his hack.

btw self comments are just plain stupid

other than that though it doesnt look too bad as far as levels go ill try them later

well as long as you make it clear its peters work thats ok , btw you dont need asm to insert graphics just get YY-CHr , search for it i dont know where you download it , copy a gfx file from your rom edit it and save it to an exgfx folder, thats all you need to do really
