Originally posted by windwaker No, the controls may have been similar, but for some reason seemed to suck. Maybe because half the time they didn't work right? Seems about right to me. And it wasn't my controller - that was the exact same one I used for my many 250,000 point combos in Tony Hawk's Underground, and later for my 850,000 point combo in the same game. |

Controller. SNES: arrow keys for arrow buttons A = h B = g Y = f X = t L = r R = y Start = Enter Select = right Shift NES and GBA use the same as the above, just without the buttons they don't have. And, in Sega Genesis, A = f B = g C = h Arrow keys, of course Sadly, I lack any gamepads or joysticks. (edited by Cheveyo Chowilawu on 12-05-04 10:05 PM) |

This maybe would have worked best as a generic thread asking about favorite enemies. Consider all the enemies in SMRPG, Paper Mario, Superstar Saga*, and that new Paper Mario game*. Too much for a poll or series of polls. Then there's the other games. * Have not played the starred games, made assumption based on similar games that I have played. I'll go with Shy Guys. Edit: Also, Zombone was the second form of Czar Dragon in SMRPG, IIRC. (edited by Cheveyo Chowilawu on 12-07-04 09:35 PM) (edited by Cheveyo Chowilawu on 12-07-04 09:37 PM) |

Both of the situations have relatively simple workarounds. But note that I haven't played the DS version yet, so... yeah. First one: When two people go to the same level, they have to pick the same star. If one gets there after the other, he/she gets no choice in the matter and is put at the start of the level on the same star as the first one there. If they get there simultaneously (unlikely) then one player's buttons are temporarily "locked out" while the other chooses the star. Second one: It's possible to program the AI differently in case of a multiplayer adventure. Not sure how, not being a programmer or romhacker or game creator myself, but I'm certain it is possible. My main concern is the difficulty in controlling the character. Considering that SM64 originally had a stick to work with, while I think the DS has just a d-pad... how hard is it to control compared to the original? Mirror Mario Icon: Mirror (maybe Magic Mirror from LttP...) Effect: Projectile attacks, like Hammers, Sledgehammers (SMB3), enemy Fireballs (from Fire Bros, for example), and Boomerangs bounce off you and can hit other enemies. Does not guard against moving enemies like Goombas, Bullet/Missile/Banzai bills, or Podoboo (Fireballs that jump from lava) Color: Silver-ish clothes (maybe pale blue and light gray would work best?) Glider Mario Icon: Hang glider Effect: Slowly glide through the air, gradually losing altitude. Likely hidden in a high spot. Up and Down can adjust descent speed (Up slows it, down accelerates, like swimming in DKC). If you have Fire or Hammers, you can throw them from the glider. When you hit ground of any sort, or water, you lose the glider. Mario's Appearance: Whatever he had before, like the Red/White from a Fire Flower. But now he's on a hang glider! |

Just so you all know, I will personally cripple anyone who votes for Brittney Spears for reasons other than max's. That said, super human powers! Immortality for me (and, hopefully one person of my choosing - life would get pretty depressing when everyone you care about dies and you don't), the ability to create and manipulate ice (not just for freezing things. Put up a huge wall between me and idiots. ), and the ability to heal any injury that I want to. Call me a wuss, just remember you did that when you get your arms severed and I encase you in ice rather than heal the injury. |

His layout works in IE, HH. Black text on a white background. Ah, among the powers I'd want, I would want the power to prevent anyone without talent from being famous for anything - except maybe their lack of talent. (edited by Cheveyo Chowilawu on 12-09-04 04:24 PM) |

The status bar's not too bad except in that first pic. The only comment I have, which is just that - a comment and little more - is that the mix of SMAS and Yoshi's Island stuff is a little odd. I'll download it a bit later, when I manage to find an SMW rom, and provide more input. |

There was a poll about this recently. It's in General Chat; closed but you can still vote. It was closed over petty little arguments. Just thought you'd like to know, in case someone closes this one for being a duplicate. | |||

I AM (not) CANADIAN! Actually, I live in Winchester, Virginia - which is, for those who didn't know, in the United States. Too damn cold for me, probably. |

Finally, Leg, something I'm sure we can all agree on. My mom was yelling at the TV when she heard that. *shakes head* Then again, she yells at the TV a lot. Maybe because my stepdad's in Afghanistan... yeah, that might be why it pissed her off so much. |

THIS ISN'T ABOUT THE ExGFX WORKSHOP! IT IS ABOUT ANIKITI'S HACK. Damn, if you're going to fight about something make a new thread about it. But, I suppose I'll comment. Do you have the same feelings towards people that don't have any new graphics in their hacks? There's no difference - if they have no new graphics, they're using Nintendo's. If they use the graphics from the workshop, it's no different, they're just using someone else's. I'll download it. Maybe I have an SMW rom on my computer... |

Yeah, that is wrong. Why the hell did you post it, though? Also, screw the slapping. "Give" him a brick. |

If the ExGFX workshop weren't there, these same people would just be posting more threads asking for people to rip the graphics for them, I'd bet. Most that are willing to learn put effort into it. Those who aren't willing to learn or simply don't care about the graphics as much use something already-made, be it ripped from other games themselves or from the ExGFX workshop or from other sources. Some, like myself, simply don't have any talent in that area - and no amount of learning how to make/use ExGFX would fix that. If it looks bad, why put it in, even if you do know how? Anyway, about the hack. I don't know how I did it, but somehow I died like... 10 times in the first level. I've always sucked at SMW in an emulator, and this proves it. Nice design for the level, though (what I saw of it). The only thing that's a little odd, which I mentioned before, is the mix of Yoshi's Island graphics with SMAS graphics. They're two different graphics styles that just look strange together. |
