Here's mine. It's kinda large 1280*800.
Not too much to it, just AIM and iTunes. Everything else is hidden to keep it clean, the way I like it. Also, it keeps people that don't know anything about computers (i.e. my roommate) from being able to do anything with my computer

Another with a staple of my desktop.

Resident Evil 4, it's by far the greatest game ever made.
RE1 - Unlike the other RE games brought over to GC, RE1 was totally revamped, and even if you've played the playstation version through 100 times, I'd still get this cause the differences are amazing, some of the greatest prerendered backgrounds and animations ever.
MGS:Twin Snakes is a nice remake of MGS with the Sons of Liberity engine, other than that there are no real extras to the game.
The Need for Speed Underground games are amazing if you like racing.

Yeah, i thought the fact that you could buy a rocket whenever you felt like it could make hte game a lil easy, but I actually never bought a rocket in my first time through. I used the one rocket you pick up in the weapons case in the fire room to kill the third guy, and then used hte rocket you get from ada. Something funny about the difficulty of the game, i was at GameFAQs and saw one where it said the game was too hard and that htere wasn't enough ammo. I mean, sure, ammo got low sometimes, but nothing like in the old REs, especially the first one with Chris, when there were times all you had was a knife cause you used all your ammo.

They're all great, but I gotta say, pure bread speed and levels where you can really use that speed to just go flying through them once you've played the game enough, gotta go with Sonic 2. I'd go one next cause I love the levels in the game. Then S&K followed up by 3 and 3S&K. I liked some of the things you could do with the different shields in the new games, but not as much as the pure speed in the second.

This game, well, I guess it would be OddWorld:Munch's Odysee, almost made me buy an xbox. I have hte first two oddworlds for psx and htey are awesome. The graphics are amazing, and the game play is addictive. I can't think of any other game hwere they give you infinite lives and hte game is still crazy hard. I really wanna try this new one, but no one here has an xbox(which really suprises me). hopefully they port it to other systems or i can find an emulation one of these days.

Ok, so me and my friend went to the local gamestop in Mishuwaka Indiana. So I'm just looking at different games cause, well, I don't have money to actually buy a game, and my friend goes right to the PS2 section, picks up DBZagas and to the PC area and grabs Half Life 2. So he goes up to buy the game, and the guy at the counter's like, "Woah there, do you have a good enough computer to run this game? I mean, you're gonna need to have at least a gig of ram and a brand new Radeon300 or higher." Now I'll have you, my friend was wearing his little mario + mushroom = Bigmario sweatshirt, obviously showing he knows something about computers. And yes, i know a Radeon300 is nothing and a gig of ram is excessive(well, not excessive, but more than necessary). And my friend was at the register for a good 10-15 minutes trying ot convince this guy he wasn't gonna come back with the game to return it cause his computer wasn't good enough. My friend has a 3.2 gHz processor, 1 gig of ram, a nVidia6800 with 256mb, and just about everything necessary for gaming. Man, I love those crazy GameStop employees.

Sorry, this is really random, but hey, i think it's interesting, submit your own "random gamestop employees being annoying" story.

Hey, I just installed a gentoo linux system on my computer and was wondering if anyone knew of any good GUIs for it. I'm trying to get Xorg on it right now but it doesn't seem to want to work. If anyone knows of common mistakes people make in installing it or if you know of other good GUIs then could you tell me. Thanks a bunch.

It is a sad day, but as a catholic I'm glad that he is gone. He has been suffering for these past years, even as far back as when he was shot, but he kept working on improving the situation of all. I believe that he is going to heaven, he is the greatest man of this past half century. He knew he was dieing and he was ready to go. And these next 9 days will not be a time of turmoil for the church, it'll be a time to celevrate the glorious life of Pope John Paul II. It will be very interesting to see who is selected as next pope, will it be a third world priest from Latin America or from Africa, or will it be a traditional Italian Pope. Rest in peace and God be with you John Paul II, the greatest man from Poland.

About the selection process, a collection of cardinals will meet to discuss when the selection will occur in a few days. After the 9 days of mourning and funeral they will meet to actuall discuss the next pope. There are basicaly two ways that the Church can go from here. They could chose a Italian cardinal, going with the safe choice that will not bring about much change in the Church, or they could go, with what I believe should be done, a Cardinal from the third world, like Latin America or Africa, where nearly 80% of all Catholics live. Interesting note, JPII was the second Pope who wasn't italian, the other one being a Pope centuries ago from France. And JPII was the third longest in office for Pope. Some people speculate that the Church will select a Pope who is older, who will not be in the Papacy for nearly three decades, but I really don't know much about what the Cardinals think about this.

Well, I seriously doubt that he died at any time other than the time they announced. Some reasons for this.
1) It wasn't a sudden death, everyone knew that he was getting near the end of his life, he knew it, that's why he said that he was dying and did not want to go to the hospital.

2) There are very specific actions that are meant to be taken when a pope dies and delaying those actions is very, not sacriligious, but just not right. The light in his room was off whenever he was sleeping, and on when he wanted it.

Also, though I do believe that there are people who believe in their religions because they were told to by their parents, or they were brought up that way, but many people are not that way. In fact, there are many new catholics that didn't become baptised until they were adults, free from their parents, and fully thought out in their beliefs. I know for me, going through public school, being religious was not something that was really "popular" so I haven't been really religious until recently, when I got out on my own and realized that the Catholic religion fit me perfectly.

One last thing, this was no ordinary man, and it has nothing to do with the fact that he was Pope and everything to do with the things he did and stood for. For one, he was the first pope ever to go into a jewish synagogue and a Muslim Mosque. He was the first Pope to acknowledge the faults of the Catholic church in not responding to the Holocaust and openly believed that all religions had their purpose on earth and that everyone was one of God's children. Another thing that he did was to stand up for the poor and oppressed and was not affraid to say this. Many Popes did not stand up against the developed world, but JPII did voice his opposition to the excess of the modern world, especially the United States. I know many people in the modern world might be offend by this, but as a Catholic it really is to be expected. We are supposed to look out for those who are less fortunate than we are and when you have people that amass great wealth, in the 10s or even 100s of millions who are driving around in cars that cost more htan a house, there is definately something wrong. I'm not saying it should be forced, but those people should be giving most of their earnings to helping the poor. There is no need for one to have a car that can go 300kph. Finaly, he was not afraid of opposing the Church as well. He openly stated his anger about priests who molested children and support the Catholic doctrines and traditions that some would say are not necessary. He supported them because he believed in them and was not willing to give up things that he believed in to make life easier for others. He was a great man who did many great things in trying to bring about peace and show people how to live a life for others. He is a great man and will be missed.

And as to why it is sad, it is sad because we have lost him. In our hearts we are glad that he is going to heaven but just because we know this does not mean we are sad. Maybe it is selfishness, I don't know, but you can't expect people not to mourn. When someone's wife/husband or family member or good friend dies they are sad. Even if they believe that that person is in heaven they are still sad to never see them during this life.

I used an old Windows 98 laptop that had about 1meg of freespace after i installed AIM. And I couldn't do anything about it cause it was my dad's old work comp and he wouldn't let us touch anything on it. Couple that with a terrible dial-up connection and you got load times for text pages that took over 5 minutes. Man taht computer sucked.

I had no idea what it was about, just a bunch of friends telling me it was incredible and that it was. I've been told it followed the graphic novels perfectly, which is really impressive. I hope tehy end up doing the other four. I could definatly sense a little bit of quentin in this movie. The movie is not for everyone, i could see how people would hate this, very violent, very edgy, and very over the top, but the directorship was incredible. It has to be one of the gutsiests artistic attemps i've seen in a long time. The movie felt like a graphic novel, the way it was all black and white and everything was exagerated. I'd definately say that if you're into the art aspect of movies, even if you don't like the film itself you will love the movie. I'd also ahve to say that marv's story was just plain badass, i loved it. "Say, taht's a nice coat you got on."

I use iTunes all the time. It's so much cheaper than actually buying cds from stores and what not. Also, if you buy entire albums you get major discounts. Got a 15 track album for 9.99 which is really nice. Also, tehy have some cool free downloads that are mostly notthat good but occasionaly are amazing. Also, they ahve some increadible playlists to download that range from specific artists to genres and what not. It's definately awesome. And if you're so inclined and you're on a network you can use ourTunes to get stuff for free, but i don't do taht cause i love the industry and i do whatever i can to support it.

Well, I don't actually ahve the machine yet, cause it's being made right now and it's then being shiped to my home which i won't be at for another week, but here is a link of the basics about my new comp.

My New PC.

I just got a new laptop about 10 months ago, but three weeks ago some fucker came in and peed on it, totally destroying everything that was on it. Luckily, I had just put on Gentoo and had backed everything to an external hd so i didn't loose anything, thank God. I just got the insurance money back on the machine and I can't wait to go home and have fun with it.

Okay, so my laptop got fried when someone decided to relieve themselves on it. So now I'm trying to salvage as much of it as possible, so I removed the harddrive and i'm gonna by a cable to connect it to a desktop. Then there's the RAM, do any of you know if there is a way to get laptop RAM onto a desktop, or is this just not possible. Those were basicaly the only two things that I could get off of the laptop, everything else was finely coated, which sucks a lot and also is probably one of the worse smells ever. NE ways, I would greatly appreciate any of your input on how I could possible convert my RAM, thanks.

Thanks for your input. I wasn't really thinking that there was anyway to convert it but if it was possible it would've been nice. I'm gonna take the two sticks down to Fry's sometime this week to see if I can get enough to get a single 512mb for my two 512mb ones. If not I'll just stick with the 1024mb that I have right now.

Well, I was thinking there was something you could set it in that would be the same size as the notebook ram and on the other end it would be expanded for the size of a regular desktop slot. Right now i've found nothing so i'm just going to try and sell it.

Okay, so I'm trying to install Gentoo Linux onto my computer and for some reason it isn't registering my dvd and dvd-r drives. The system boots, but when i go to mount the drive it doesn't work, but when I use ls to view it it's right there. Has anybody else had this problem and can you help me get past it, I guess if this doesn't work I'll just stick with some other distro, but i'd really like to get gentoo on my computer.
