You lie YD. I know how the scores are calculated. And when you see a slew of newbies with a 10 rating and an amount of points to match your level, I know it was you. Unless, of course, someone hacked your account .

Lol, I guess it's time to go look for people with a rating of about 5.9 or whatever...

Unsurpassed: No. B/c I just tried to rate you and it registered a new vote. You have a lovely 4.4 now. |

Well, you could just divert attention from yourself by giving EVERYONE a random raise/lowering, including yourself. So bam, you get one slightly higher paycheck and they're left thinking it's a system glitch. |

On a related note, I mixed Mountain Dew with a certain kind of Lemonade once, and the flavors totally CANCELLED OUT. I was flabbergasted. It tasted like water, and each tasted like it's own, separately. |
But yeah, the great experience (and fine art) of soda mixing was one of my favorite things to do at Burger King when I was a kid. Any mixture of Coke + Sprite + Minute Maid Orange is a tasty treat. i'd recommend 1/2 coke, 1/3 Maid, and 1/6 Sprite for starters.

Yeah Minute Maid Orange is similar to Fanta except it's a lot more bubbly. It's the only orange soda I see with a lot of fizz for some reason. Maybe the generics have a lot... |

They'll cut off your epenis and keep it in a jar. That's right, the government is like an ... ewife? |

Well you would think keeping track of an internal variable which takes up maybe 2 bytes at most wouldn't be very processor intensive . That's just poor programming if that's the reason. When you stop running does the timer update to its correct position? |

:\ Not bad I'd say. I always thought the Mac Clones thing was the best thing Apple could have done, and they pulled the plug on that b/c it hurt their bottom line and potentially the image of their platform. I may go back to Apple someday... I just can't think of a good reason right now. It would have to be out of boredom. I tried to play an old Mac game on my school's machines running OS X and it said it couldn't run "Classic System 9'. I was sad. ;( |

I suppose if you bought a REALLY CHEAP PC motherboard it might not have AGP or whatever the new standard is. But yeah onboard GPU or APU = bad. |

I haven't even done anything remotely like this since grade school (maybe up to 5th grade?) |
But my impression was that it wasn't fool proof, and friends could mark each other higher than normal and things of that sort. But my teachers also required the grader to sign their name on the paper they graded, so if there were any issues of unfairness, you could go ask the person, and then the teacher if you were still sure you were marked off unfairly. As for the other side, raising a friend's grade, I considered it the teacher's job to take care of that, and to spot signs of it. Finding a way to make it truly anonymous, say electronically, would help in that regard.

Jesper: what exactly is different between Mac OS 9 and OS X that I can't run my old programs? There wasn't a processor shift, was there? Now the programs I'm using are FAT, since they run under the old 68000 series and the Power PC series. But they were made right around the time of the shift between those. Is there any work around for this short of me putting an OS 9 system folder on a flash drive and using that? |

My university has been making it harder and harder to connect to IRC on any particular campus computer. On my own machine I have to enable a VPN each time I want to connect to IRC, and even then I know they were blocking certain ports for a while. I had to use port 6670 for a day or two. |
Now they've put the kabash on their lab computers as well. So... this could go two ways. I either need to find a way to create a VPN on a lab computer, or find a way to bypass the firewall completely. I've been attempting to use my SSH client for that but it's been a no go. Since I'm not terribly literate on this, and google.com hasn't been very helpful, I would appreciate some advice on the matter. EDIT: Nevermind, I found a way to rig it up. You can still post answers if you feel like it. (edited by MathOnNapkins on 01-12-05 07:43 PM)
