(Title of thread to be spoken as "Napster... BAD!" from Futurama) Ok, II'm going to attempt to keep this as a serious thread... I've had four tonight... one bottle and thrree snake bites and I seriously cannot hold my drink anymore...

Anyways, how much does it take you to get tipsy, drunk and then throw up? Does it make a difference if you drink different drinks?

Hehe, don't worry about me, I'm ok This is the first time I've been smashed since Christmas. I go out to this event every week, but I'd be in serious trouble if I could even afford for this to become a habit
Usually I'll only have that many once a semester

Why not re-new his contract so that he can't have high volumes of music in the house? You might not want to be a bitchy landlord, but even the nice ones include that in their contracts
Landlords get far, far worse than you, Taryn

Alternatively, find the power switch in your house. Cut the power every night at 10:30

Maniacs? *cough* Manics rule, and are the most significant band to come from Wales. Apart from Stereophonics, I don't think anyone else, even from the UK, could fill the entire Millenium Stadium

You only have to look at their history to know how significant they are, and how far they've come.

My sides hurt worse than they did yesterday I don't think that's down to the drink, probably more down to lack of sleep

The worst night I've ever had drinking was when I was a lot younger. Me and my friends had a party in a summer house and we got ourselves a box of wine. We were having downing competitions with wine

I had to be walked home, and I can't remember anything that happened that evening either

Photoshop, although Adobe should be flogged for charging that much for it. There is no justification for a single piece of software to be that expensive. If it's to be run on one PC, for one user, then the charge should only be a little more to cover the costs to develop it.

No, it doesn't need the entire PHP system on it's databases to cache everything. If the cache is only what google sees, then all it needs is the HTML for the page, which is what PHP returns.

Have you tried looking at caches of our own board?

Stop conspiracy therorising These things happen all the time

Ugh... This post comes after a string of false alarms in my block in my halls of residence. Since the beginning of this term, we've had many fire alarms late at night. This one that has got me up now was deliberate.
It's about three in the morning, and I don't enjoy getting woken up, let alone by a screeching alarm. It makes me feel extremely scared and shakey, and I lose sleep over the whole thing.
As well as that, someone's been trigger happy with one of the fire extinguishers.

So, it brings me to a point. How can someone thrive of disruption? Why are people compelled to make other people's lives difficult? What is there to be gained?

I'm still a Gran Turismo girl, ever since the first arrived. It's simply a magnificant game.

You can say what you want about the grahpics, they're still the best graphics on the Playstation, a fitting testament to Polyphony's legendary skill to get the absolute maximum out of both machines. The gameplay is always firmly behind the graphics too... The development team make sure that the game will keep your attention for as long as any RPG, and rival many for depth.

I still haven't bought any of the Burnout games, simply because they just don't appeal to me after GT. GT is the ultimate celebration of the car, and it's a true labour of love. Such things are rare now in modern gaming, and anyone who loves motorsport or racing games needs to play Gran Turismo.

I'm in one of the three big non-university funded halls in the city. It's as modern as you could ask for, but there are always so real jerks around Also, when we got outside, there was a llarge group of people from the hall opposite ours that were completely drunk and picking fights with each other.
Our halls are basically saving money on not providing an on site security guard. It's a shame, there should be someone present all night to deal with these things. If this had been a real fire, then people would've died. Only the minority of people actually got out and evacuated

GT2 is supposed to look great when using the PS2's improved PSX hardware emulation. Other games that work well include Vagrant Story and Metal Gear Solid

Posted on 02-24-05 01:52 AM, in Java Project Question Link
In my latest Java assignment, we've been given the challenge to write the code for a chat-room client and server.

We're using multi-threading techniques, and my server program uses one thread for every client to recieve a message and echo a message back to the same client program. Unfortunately, I'm having problems getting each thread to echo messages sent in across all sockets (used in other threads) so that every message sent in is displayed on all clients.
My idea was to keep a vector of clients that stored their screen name and socket, and have it available to every thread object, but every strategy I try doesn't work. Has anyone got any ideas about how I can approach this problem?
