As I said in the "Your videogame collections" thread, I hope to have this game by tomorrow evening at latest. From what I heard during my call to EB Games yesterday, they don't yet have the game in, although they were supposed to recieve some copies today for those people that reserved it. I assume you have to pay a small fee for them to set aside a copy, and while I didn't, pretty much the same thing happened with Trauma Center, and it didn't cost me any extra there Actually, I should say I hope to have it by the end of the week at absolute latest, just in case something comes up.

The only thing I've read about the game so far that seemed bad (at least to me) was how there are only 5 cases to go through in the whole game I suppose they could get longer and longer as you go through them (such as the first case only taking 10 minutes and the second taking a half hour or more), but I don't know for sure whether that's the case or not.

For right now though, all I can say is that it does look pretty fun, so the only thing to do is wait for EB Games to get it in. I realize there are other places that would have it as well, but right now, they're going to have it in within a couple days, or possibly less

That settles things. I really have to start thinking about bringing in my external hard drive anyways, and just hooking it up once Michele and Janice are gone I can still download things throughout the day, so the only real change will be that I'll copy them all at once at the end of the day.

Anyways, I gave both K8107 and Jack another try last night, among other songs. I managed to bring my result up to an A on Jack, but didn't even manage to pass K8107 I can get through the first part where it seems to get quicker, but the second is the death of me

As for other results, I finally managed to make it through Salieri Strikes Back on Heavy, with a B, Powerbook Fiend on Heavy as well, with a C (it's actually pretty difficult), and others that I can't remember right now. I'm not able to updatae my list today though, as I didn't bring the new one in, so I'll try to have it updated tomorrow. As of right now though, I've been typing this post for about an hour, and I have to leave at 2:30 today, so for now, that's it

No I didn't. I do have it downloaded, but I have to wait until tomorrow (I hope) to be able to bring it home. I was hoping to be able to bring in my hard drive today, but I ended up going grocery shopping with my Mom, and by the time we got done, it was just more convenient for her to drop me off at Heart and Stroke for the afternoon, and I'd planned to stop home to grab the thing first I could use floppy disks, as I have five of them, two of which I suspect are about to stop working completely, although they still work for small files. It's easy enough using Winzip to span the file on multiple disks (just change the extension so Winzip doesn't recognize it as being a zip file), but there's a good chance of encountering an error of whatever sort trying to extract the file.

As for my list of results, I'm thinking about just updating the thing on the weekend, instead of whenever I get done playing StepMania. I have so far, and I think it'd look a lot better not having one table contain over 30 result cells, and another containing less than 10 Time will tell how that goes though.

When it comes to progress / results on songs, the only thing I have to mention today is that I can now make it about two minutes (it seems like it, but I'm not sure how long the song actually is) into the song without dying.

That's about all I have to say though, so for now, that's it. Note that I wasn't able to update my list today either, as I didn't get a chance to go back home after grocery shopping

Edit: Changed all of 4 words

Well, if you consider Minesweeper to be a videogame, then you should at least include Solitaire, Hearts and whatever other games are included with Windows

Anyways, I've got two more games in my collection now. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, and Spyro: Shadow Legacy. I'm up to the second case on the former (what progress), on which I'm stuck. I've done everything possible except telling Detective Gumsworth (I believe that's his name) and the rest of the people in the court that I was the one that wrote "Maya" on the piece of paper in Mia's blood. I can't think of anything good that would come from that, but it could possibly get the detective to slip up

As for Spyro: Shadow Legacy, I'm up to having freed everyone from the Shadow Realm in the canyon, and now I have to find a digging tool (I assume it'd be a shovel) and some boll weevil juice The game is alright, but the loading time is pretty bad. For starters, I'm surprised to see a cartridge-based (or should it be card-based?) game taking some time to load. It's only a few seconds, but it's still unusual. The text that appears when you start the game is frustrating as well. Each thing takes about 6 seconds to disappear, and there's three bits of text that appear altogether, which bumps the wait time up to 18 seconds. As far as I can tell, you can't skip to the title screen either.

That's not to say that the game isn't fun though. It is enjoyable, provided you have enough patience

To finish for now, both my lists have been updated as usual. I also hope to have DDR: Mario Mix by the end of the week. It's been too long since I actually sat down to play a Gamecube game for more than a couple minutes

I'd hoped to get it this morning, but according to what I found out from my phone call to EB Games, Nintendo is using a different distributor than the store here does, and as such, they don't have it in yet As things stand now, I hope to have it by the end of the week. The person on the phone said she'd put my name on one when they arrive, and will give me a call to let me know it's in, so things should work out. When it comes to it seeming too easy, I myself think of that as a good thing I've played several more of the easier songs I've got than normal recently, just to see what they're like and to think about what it'd be like to play them using a pad, and a few of them seem like they would be pretty difficult. The one that comes to mind is the beginning part of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow".

Anyways, as for results, I worked up a frames page for them over the weekend, that I think looks a bit more organized, but I still kept the old one that's simply text in and outside of a table. Right now, the frames version can be found here, and the non-frames version can be found here. Note that I've tried my best to make sure that anything I add in the frames page gets added to the non-frames version as well, but there is a possibility that I forgot one or two songs. If that's the case, sorry.

As for mentionable results, Mind Parasite comes to mind. I'm surprised I managed to get an A on it, seeing as I was blindly hitting arrows at the end of the song Maximizer is the only other one I can think of right now, and that's because previously when I tried the song, I either got a C, or didn't even manage to finish it. Managing to get a B is as good as anything right now

I did bring my hard drive in today, so provided I get a chance to hook it up, I'll be able to try Battle AX (as well as the other two new simfiles) tonight. As usual, that's it for now.

That's a difficult decision to make First off, cats, to my experience, are definitely easier to take care of, although the two we have at home have recently started laying on either my Mom's bed or my top bunk for a good portion of the day, and sometimes have either coughed up a hairball, or pooped on the blankets, thereby making both of us resent ever letting them into our rooms However, a dog could very well do the same thing, although not on a bed

When it comes to taking care of them, cats seem to be fairly easy to care for. Simply feed them and clean their litter boxes on a regular basis, and take them to a veterinarian when necessary. If they go outside regularly, then the only other thing I can think of you needing to do is give them a bath when need be.

As for a dog, basically the same plan applies, except without having to clean a litter box, and needing to take it on a walk regularly.

I'd choose cats though. Aside from what's listed above, dogs are noisy, mostly when barking, while the most noise a cat can make is a loud hiss when something happens to it I still like dogs, but not so much that I'd choose a dog over a cat right now

If doubles mode is what I think it is (playing with two pads as opposed to one), then I'd honestly have to say I don't think it will be As pretty much anyone that wants the game should know by now, it comes with a pad, and it wouldn't be very practical to have to buy another copy of the game to get a second pad. I highly doubt that would ever be the case though, as Nintendo could certainly start selling pads alone, and / or third party companies (MadCatz comes to mind) could make pads as well. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if they already have plans to do so

Also, from what I've read, this game isn't exactly the same as the other ones are. Given that, while some of the other DDR games may have doubles mode, Mario Mix very well might not.

I'm not trying to say that you're wrong and I'm right or anything like that. The above are simply my opinions

Anyways, I was able to take Battle AX home last night, and I gave it a few tries. The first three times, I finished with a B. On the fourth try, I managed to get an A. Since I only saved that one screenshot last night, I put it on a disk this morning, so it can be seen here for the time being. I still plan on adding it to my lists when I get a chance, but it still can't hurt to have uploaded that picture.

As for the other simfiles, I don't know how, but I forgot to download Orochi's Team Theme yesterday, so with luck, I'll be able to give it a try tomorrow night. I did have True Area 53 (or whatever the name is) a try, both on Heavy and Challenge. Heavy, I managed to get a B on, but I couldn't pass Challenge. The area right near the beginning of the song where the double arrows start appearing always kills me My brother, on the other hand, simply saw that simfile as "a new Sonic song to play", and chose Challenge right away. I was out in the kitchen washing the dishes at the time, but I heard him gasping

Now, once again, I've been writing this post on and off for nearly two hours, so I think it's time to click the "Submit reply" button

Yea, poor guy probably didn't get what a 13 was. :\

I have a feeling he does know that the higher those numbers are, the harder the song will be, as I've already explained that to him a couple times. What he doesn't always realize is that even though a given song might seem extremely hard on Challenge or Heavy, there just may be easier difficulties. There's an oxymoron for you

Now, I was able to get DDR: Mario Mix this morning. I got a call from EB Games last night saying it was in, but since I had to go to the bank to get the money to pay for it, and they were closed, I had to wait. I'm up to the third world, but more specifically, I just beat the hammer brothers to get inside the amusement park. So far, the game seems to be somewhat challenging (once again, this is the first time I've ever played using a pad), but I've yet to play a song that's really challenging. Of course, I'm playing on Easy right now Interestingly enough, all the songs I've played so far have only had left and right arrows in them I assume the up and down arrows will come into play on higher difficulties, but right now, they seem to be used for the minigames ,and nothing else.

As for how I'm doing result-wise in the game, I got a D on the very first song, a C from the one after that, then a B, and then more of the previous I've yet to get an A, although I have the feeling that you can't get any Early, Late, or Miss.

Next, a question about StepMania that's been on my mind for a while, but I kept forgetting to ask. On the song selection screen, do the different colors of the song titles mean anything in particular? At first I thought it had something to do with the difficulty of the song, such as any song over a 10 being red, but upon checking various other songs, I saw that wasn't the case. I also thought the BPM of whatever song might have something to do with that, but it seems that assumption is wrong as well. As of right now, it seems that the color change is merely cosmetic

I didn't play StepMania a whole lot yesterday evening, as I finally figured out what to do on Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, so I was busy with that most of the night, so I have nothing to mention there. For now, that's about it.

That's what I thought as well. It would make the game quite a bit easier, but a lot mmore boring As for progress on that game, I finished story mode on Easy, then started and finished Normal as well. I just started going through it again this morning, on Hard, which is going fairly well. I have to say watching Bowser dance during the intro to the last song was... different The same thing goes for his reason for stealing the musical keys.

Story Mode aside, I also did quite a bit of multiplayer with my brother yesterday night. He used his controller, and I used the pad. Most I the time, I played on Normal or Hard, while he chose either Hard, Very Hard, and occasionally Super Hard. Results from the songs we played ranged from C's to A's, for both of us. What did get annoying was him constantly trying to get me to use a controller instead. After nearly every song, he'd say something like "See? With a controller, you can make it through hard songs easily." I keep telling him no though, so hopefully he gets the point soon

My biggest accomplishment so far in the game is getting an A on Garden Boogie, on Very Hard. Anyways, it's nearly 5:00 so I should end this here for now.

In the event that the coliseum is still giving you problems, I've got a couple suggestions to give:

:: Buy as many items as you can hold that are required to make Miso Stew. If, however, you don't have that recipe, it's found in Dirk's House. That's all I can say The items required to cook it (including extras) are Miso, Kelp, Egg, Radish, Konjac, Meats, Red Satay, and Potato. Make sure to fill up all the stars for that recipe for whichever character you intend to battle with. That's done by fighting a battle, then cooking that recipe once you're done.

:: As DarkSlaya said, buy two Black Onyxes in Flanoir. If I remember right though, you get one of those from a boss battle earlier in the game, so you may only have to buy one. If I remember right, the effects stack, so your max. HP will increase by 60% instead of 30. Equip them if you feel your character doesn't have enough health, but don't unequip other accessories until you're sure you don't need whatever benefits they give you.

:: If you plan on fighting with a magic user (Genis, Raine, Zelos, and possibly Colette and Sheena), make sure to equip the Faerie Ring (from the fight with Forcystus), and also think about using the Mystic Symbol. The latter reduces the time required to cast a spell, and the Faerie Ring cuts your TP consumption in half. Then it's a somewhat simple matter of finding a safe spot during battle that will keep you away from the enemy long enough to give you a chance to cast a spell.

:: Equipment-wise, use the best you can get, as should be obvious. The Devil's Arms work quite well for some characters (Lloyd and Presea come to mind), but don't rely on them and nothing else. I found it easier to beat solo mode with Genis when I had the One World equipped as opposed to the Disaster. I shouldn't have to mention this next bit, but if you want to use the Devil's Arms, then make sure you've beaten Abyssion first

Those points aside, the only other thing to do is keep practicing at it. Experimenting with different combos could very well give you an idea as to what Techs you can use to get away from enemy attacks, or which do the most damage depending on what you're fighting.

If all else fails, you can always start a new game on Easy, and just wait until you reach the coliseum then to work through it. Either way, good luck
