I've seen Harry Hill live, he's really funny. A comic genius

"D'ooooooh, Gary Lineker Badger, I knew you'd be behind this!"

I've also seen Eddie Izzard in "A Day in the Death of Joe Egg", a black comedy in the West End, London Makes me the envy of more than a few people

I'd also like to see Jasper Carrot and Billy Connelly

Killer Instinct seems to have been forgotten in the realm of the digitised games...

Mortal Kombat was just so successful that people ignored Killer Instinct, and they still do today...

Shame, an update could be really good if they did it properly.

You can expect me to be quieter now. Exam today, exam tomorrow, work Wednesday, exam Thursday

There's still more than enough time to see if I can rank inside the top ten for the month

Why play videogames when there are perfectly good boardgames? People find it fascinating, you can't tell people to be earth geologists or ecologists. People have a natural fascination with the planets, and I can't see why you want to question that

Liquid gasses? Isn't that a contradiction in terms? You are right though, the scientists working on the Cassini Huygens probe think the channels were cut by liquid methane. Apparently we know there's already water, but it's frozen at the poles like on Earth and Mars.

Landing on Titan wasn't the most difficult landing in the solar system, but there's always thing we can't predict when it comes to landing.

We had a pretty good idea of what Titan was like, and I think had Huygens landed in an ocean, we would've been prepared.

The most difficult landing in the solar system is undoubtbly either a comet or Venus.

The heat on Venus was high enough to melt the lens cap of the camera, and fry the internal circuitry before many photos could be taken.

It might be sunshine, but it's the same goddamned sunshine. I'm sorry, you just can't deny Blur's greatness, originality and musical abilty.

Even the most hardened Oasis fan will probably have Song 2 in their playlist, or even Parklife.

Even Blur's old stuff is still just as fresh and cutting edge.

This is my first attempt in ages at sprite art, you can see my first ever one in this old layout... That's Flake from Rammstein

The guy in my title is Spider One from Powerman 5000...

And the catgirl is the catgirl from my last layout.

I based Spider on Chrono, and the catgirl on Aeris' sprite from Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories.

Oh, that's my Powerman 5000 picture. I just copied and pasted from a random google search for an image *fixes*

There, that's the one on my server. It was part of my old layout.

Machinae Supremacy- Deus Ex Machinae
A great group's first album offering, they've come far from the routes of covering videogame music. Now, they're making great original music of their own, with a distinct VG twist. Watch out for Missing Link - the song about Majora's Mask and the SIDstation, using the beloved SID sound chip from the Commodore 64.

Rammstein - Reise Reise
It almost never came out, but Reise Reise is a return to form for Rammstein after their Sonne album almost pushed them to collapse. They went back to the drawing table and made an album that they actually felt like making. It spawned the songs Mein Teil, and the great end-of-night anthem Amerika.

Mansun - Kleptomania
For a band that split up two years ago, this was a godsend to the dedicated of Mansun. It was recorded right as the band split up, and a year later and mixed into something that could be released. All of the missing pieces were recorded and filled in by Paul and Chad, and it formed the basis of the album. But that isn't what makes it so special... Bundled with Kleptomania is two more discs. One filled with non-album a sides and b sides, only previously accessable through collecting the epic EP collection. The other provided a collection of live tracks.

There isn't going to be a draft. There is no evidence to suggest that there will be, or might be either.

Let's face it, it's not that large a scale a war. The US are planning to go through one territory at a time, not the many countries like in World War 2.
If there was a draft, do you really think everyone will end up in Iran? You'll be tripping over troops if that happens.

Posted on 01-19-05 05:29 PM, in Ico and "Wanda and the Colossus" Link
I'm not sure I remember there being an Ico thread, but I don't remember ever discussing it in a thread all of it's own.
Chad finally tracked down a copy late last year, and I've only played half an hour of it... Yet, I have to say that this is one of the most pure gaming experiences I've ever played.

To anyone who has never played it, you cannot miss out on this game. It'll change your view of what modern gaming can be forever.

It achieves a realism without even having high polygon counts or spangly effects. The animation, the way Ico and Yorda interact with each other, the emphasis of the sound effects of your surrounding area... So many things that bring Ico to life, yet so different when compared to games like Prince of Persia who are trying to achieve the same goals.

I find myself afraid to play the game, I simply don't want to lose Yorda. Every time she gets carried away I feel attached. Any game that can achieve that is a work of art.

Wanda and the Colossus
Secondly, has anyone seen Wanda and the Colossus, dubbed Ico 2? I'll say this, it doesn't need to need to be a direct sequel to feel like the next iteration of the series. The scale, the imagination and the sheer size of the task presented is enough to recreate the feeling you had playing Ico. That's what everyone wants from a sequel, right? Damn straight

I'm learning the OO facilities of C++ at univesity now, and it's a complete bitch to learn when compared to just procedural programming.
I can see why it's neccessary that large projects use it, but I'm finding myself longing to working on projects in the procedural way, where life was simpler

Does everyone use OO or Procedural programming in their personal projects here? I'd love to know what everyone thinks of OO as well

About the same as mine, then

I forgot to mention Bluetooth. It does everything else you listed as well.

What OS was it, though? I'm sure it's Sony Errikson's own. The SPV C500 runs Windows Smartphone, which can can very bitchy, but it can do some impressive things too
