"Turns to Stone." by ELO (Electric Light Orchestra)

I am very very very jealous of a friend of mine who got to see them in concert. I would give anything to be mesmerized by the musical stylings of the great Jeff Lynne.

There are boob pillows out there too. You just put your head in between the two big lumps of cushion and doze off right away.

I'd think their heads would slide off of these kinds of pillows.

I got some nice tops and pants, which is enough for me actually. I'd also be happy with some music CDs, though I bought plenty of those last week. There can never be enough music.

I also baked a banana pie and am gonna spend the evening watching Pauly Shore movies, unless it snows, then I'll go dance in the park.

You mean like in the beginning of There's Something About Mary? Ouch. It looked very painful. It was very red.

I have to see that movie again.

I've been hooked on soy milk as of late. They sell chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and (my favorite) banana soy milk at Walgreens. I wish they'd do with milk what they do with ice cream.

Definitely syrup. Sometimes I sneeze when I'm opening the packet to pour it in and there goes my snack. At least with syrup, it's easier to pour.

When they invent banana syrup, I'm going to be so happy you'll hear me scream WHEE from Neptune.

If I can picture Christopher Walken or one of the Children of the Corn at the keyboard, then that qualifies as scary. Frankly it's a person who was banned who came to mind.

When I think of Hopeless I think of Quagmire from Family Guy.

I've been into a lot of comics lately. If there are some comics that you are absolutely wild over, recommend them here.

Some of my favorites:

Dork Tower. As stated on the main page, "DORK TOWER is for anybody who's ever played Dungeons and Dragons, who's ever gone to a Star Trek convention, anyone who suspects that Anime is more than just a passing fad, or anyone who KNOWS one of these people."

Goats. It's the strip about computer geeks, for computer geeks. It's about Jon and couch potato ways and his misadventures in dating and dealings with his alcoholic friend Phillip. My favorite characters are Neil and Bob, the twisted aliens.

Red Meat. This is hard to describe. It is twisted, demented and politically incorrect. My favorite characters are Milkman Dan, a drunk, peverted..well...milkman, and Bug Eyed Earl, the sanest character in the comic.

Get Fuzzy. A strip kinda based on Garfield but Bucky the cat is even more cynical and vindicative than Garfield. And Satchel the dog has at least some semblance of a brain. Plus their owner, Rob, isn't quite a tool and is a big sports buff.

Bloom County/Outland. This is all I could find for BC. It was a strip that was active in the 80s and was one of the best I've seen. I first discovered Opus and Bill the Cat when they were featured in the Bloom County spin-off Outland which ran only on Sundays. Bloom County is kinda like Doonesbury in that it features many political themes with a liberal bend, but overall it relies on smart humor, nerdiness, and Opus, the naive penguin.

I've also got about six Calvin and Hobbes collectors books and about eight Far Side books. And if Something Positive came out with a collector's book, I'd get that.

I'm gonna be watching comedy shows and movies and rocking out to Cheap Trick and Slade.

Among the movies on my marathon list are: Happy Gilmore, Spaceballs, Ghostbusters, Stripes, and The Jerk.

And I'm also gonna watch some episodes of Mr. Show and Upright Citizens Brigade. So yes, fun times ahead after spending time with the family and before going back to work.

I was just wondering. Or are you more inclined to the idea that we choose our destiny?

I want to lean more towards the statement that life is what we make of it. Nothing falls into place unless you make the effort to get what you want. But there are times where I think about how anything can happen to anyone at any time under circumstances beyond their control. We get laid off, we get cancer, we get killed unexpectedly. I hate thinking that some higher power already has my life planned out, when I'm going to die and how. I try to make my own choices and assume responsibility for what happens to me in the near future. But I get the feeling that my choices have little to do with my future.

And I have another question. Do you believe that people are inherently good and well meaning or evil with hidden agendas for every action?

Just curious. I've been in philosophical mode for the past two weeks. :/

It's not worth it. It's not worth all of the energy. There are other things, other people that matter more and wasting time on ones who shouldn't matter just doesn't bring any good to anyone.

I thought some of you were better people. Especially since a certain ban was completely uncalled for. And no I'm not talking about Legion, I mean the recent Manda ban. Everybody does stupid things, but things happen to them and they can change and I know a genuine change-for-the-better when I see it.
