Good point. I'd think there'd be records of when you got the thing put in you, where on your body, etc. so they'd know they wouldn't be able to 'use' it if that certain part of your body was damaged.

To think it's so darn tiny as well To me, that makes it seem like it'd be less likely to get damaged (smaller, so it's harder to hit), but also, it's smaller, so it might break or something easier

Posted on 11-22-04 02:06 AM, in Trying to Remember the Name of Either a Movie or TV Show Link
The thread title's pretty much self-descriptive, but I'm trying to remember the name of a movie or TV Show that I clearly recall watching back in second grade or sometime around then.

The only part I remember about it was the main character (I'm assuming) had to get through some weird gates. The first one was two big horse-statue things (actually, they might've looked like chess pieces, but I don't play chess, so I wouldn't know ), facing each other, and of course a fair distance apart.

Every time the guy tried to go through the gate, lasers (or something similar) would shoot out towards him from the eyes of the two statues I don't remember how, but he got through them, and it showed him on the other side. Some person on a horse rode past, and waved at him The other one I remember was all elaborate 'n stuff, green, blue and white colored if I remember right, and it talked to him, of all things. I think it asked him questions, and he had to answer them correctly to get past, but I never saw if he did or not, 'cause our teacher turned it off after that

Those are some pretty vague hints, if you ask me, but they're literally all I remember about watching whatever it was. I'd like to find out the name of it, because ever since I remembered it a couple months ago, it's been bugging me to find out what happens It's probably fairly old as well, since I'm positive we watched it back when I was in public school.

I'm not certain if it was a TV show or a movie, because our teacher brought it in on a video tape, so for all I know, he (or she) could've recorded it off the TV.

Hopefully someone knows what I'm talking about, so if you can help, thanks

If they ever made the decision that these things were mandatory, I can see them doing something like that They already have those cards in some places that replace paper money and coins.

I think if they ever made that decision, there'd hopefully be enough negative response about it to make them reconsider. I wonder; if ever that thing did get enforced in the US, and nobody said anything against it, how long it'd be before it got considered here in Canada I hope that never happens.

Death by Rotten Egg? God told you to? Indeed

I tried my username in both all lowercase and all uppercase letters, and I got a funny result for the second. I'll just put 'em both in though:

And the second:

I don't think I've seen Zemus on here yet, but apparently I'll kill him in a year anyways The with and reason things make me think he'll be sleepwalking down some street, and I'll come up in a truck and run him over

Thankfully I haven't been targetted yet, but who knows how long that'll last

I don't know the answer to the first question, but for the second one, it depends on whether you're talking about the SNES or GBA version. Here's how to find the bee depending on which one you're playing:

SNES:
Go to the Ice Cave east of Lake Hylia. Enter through the main entrance (not the one you take to get the Ice Rod) and use a Dash Attack to reveal the Good Bee. Catch him with the Bug-Catching Net

GBA:
It can be found in two places. Go to the cave where you get the Ice Rod. Dash into the statue in one of the room with two fairies to lure the bee out. I think if you show it to one of the shopkeepers in the Outcast Village after that, he'll start selling them as well

Edit: You might try checking a walkthrough on gamefaqs for the first question 'cause I've got no idea what you're talking about either

The Neverending Story. That does sound vaguely familiar. I looked up one site on google that had some screens from it, but I didn't recognize them, since, like I said, the only part I've seen of it is those two gates

I found a place where I can get it (for free, of course ), so now I just have to wait for the download to finish and see if it is what I'm thinking of.

Thanks for the help

Posted on 11-22-04 05:29 AM, in Lucid dreams are fun! Link
I haven't had very many Lucid Dreams where I actually control what I do, although like that link Nebetsu posted says, most of 'em I get are ones where I know I'm dreaming, but I usually don't try to do anything, or I end up forcing myself to wake up for some reason

Here's one that I can remember that fits into the first category: First off, I can rarely ever remember how they started, just so you know that I was walking along some sidewalk, with a field to my right, and a street to my left, and I had a thought that it'd be alot quicker to fly I jumped up into the air, and I noticed I was floating, so I kept jumping up higher and higher I got up quite a ways, wondered how I was going to get down. I realized I was falling, so I tried to get over above the field, but a few seconds after I found that wasn't going to work, I woke up

I can't remember very many that fit into the second category, but I remember how they end. Usually the main part of the dream is focused on something I don't like. For example, I'm claustrophobic, and as such, I don't like riding in elevators. A dream revolving around that could be; I have no choice but to get in one, so I do so, and as it's going, it stops in between floors for whatever reason. Then, like what happens with other dreams I don't like, I realize what's happening, and that I'm actually dreaming, and I force myself to wake up Funny thing is, people say that dreams usually aren't that easy to remember, but when something like what I just said happens to me, I remember quite clearly what the dream was about

This isn't really related to Lucid Dreams, but I hate when I'm dreaming and try to talk to someone in the dream, and I end up waking myself up Most of the time when that happens, I'm actually having a really good sleep too.

Umm... it doesn't even take a minute to make an ips patch, but it's your choice, to make, I guess

On to comments about the game:

1-1:
Near the area where there's two short fire sticks, and three goomas, you might want to move your set of 3 coins over to the right one space. Otherwise part of the hill dissappears when you pick the leftmost one up.

1-2:
The fat 'h' made out of smashable bricks. I tried kicking a koopa shell into the bottom-right block, but it didn't break. It looks like there might be something under there, but it's kind of hard to tell when you can't get down there even

Is there supposed to be a way to get over the end pipe? I see the bit of what looks like a castle over there, but I've looked for invisible blocks, and tried to do the minus world trick, to no avail.

1-3
Same thing as in 1-1 here, except this time it's with a cloud. The area with the moving 'bridge' platforms. Maybe move the coins above the cloud or something.

Even with those few issues, this is a good job for your first SMB1 hack. Nice work so far

I can be sure I've gone to sleep one or two nights and not dreamed at all. Maybe I'm wrong, but it really seemed like it. I went to sleep at 10 or whatever, and it seems like not even 2 minutes later, I'd wake up and it'd be 11 or 12 in the morning

Like you said in your two descriptions, Keikonium, I've had dreams where I've tried to yell, and I couldn't. Maybe it's a good thing 'cause my Dad's bedroom is connected to mine (he has to go through my room to get to his), and I'd probably wake him up if I were to yell or scream

Similarly, I've had times where I tried to move in my dream, but I found I couldn't. The one I remember right now is this: I was outside, standing on the train tracks at the railway crossing out by our city's cemetery (that's weird enough right there ), and I looked over and saw a train coming toward me. I tried to move my feet, and to jump out of the way, but I couldn't I assume that's 'cause of the way I was laying in my bed though. Just as the train was about to hit me, I woke up

It's just like a normal bee, but if you catch it in a bottle and then let it back out, it'll start attacking enemies of there're any on the screen. I think you can catch it in a bottle again after you've let it out too (can't remember if you could do that with normal bees).

If that's what you're supposed to do, then I think you may have to equip your Pegasus Boots, and dash up into those blocks. Maybe it'll knock you back onto the platform. Although, if that's the way you're supposed to get there, I don't see how you'd get back onto the main platform Depending on where I left off last time I played the GBA game, I might be able to figure out how to do that in the next while. The two FAQs I checked weren't much help.

I looked for the VBA code to get to the Houlihan Room, but I had no luck there All I found were references to it being taken out of the GBA version, and how Nintendo still left the room in the game though, but I didn't find any code. Sorry

Same thing here I don't think I'll be able to try to get there on the game in the next while either. My most recent savestate on the GBA version is only in the Desert Dungeon, and I don't have any idea how far my brother got in ZSNES

I completely forgot about the hookshot being in that game The only other thing I just noticed with the possibility of bumping off the blocks, is that the empty space on the main platform is only one square high, so you wouldn't be able to get much of a run at it

Now that you've reminded me that the hookshot's there, I wonder if it's possible to fall down onto that platform from a room above that area? That's the most logical way I can think of getting there now.

Hmm. Found it out right when I found and downloaded a savestate that was somewhat near Ganon's Tower Oh well. Now that's done, so I'll go on a search for that VBA code. Nothing else better to do when it's almost 1 in the morning

Posted on 11-22-04 11:02 AM, in idea: a search blacklist Link
Have a frustrating experience with a search engine lately, Mutation? It sounds like it from your post I have to agree though. I remember reading something on bash.org, where someone did a search for 'man pages' (apparently it was for Linux stuff), and they got a bunch of prOn results

Even still sometimes today, when I can't find a ROM on the sites I usually look on, I do a google search, and half of the time there's a completely unrelated result. The ones I dislike the most are when you can tell just by looking at the url that's displayed on google that it's not what you're looking for Something like looking for a ROM, and a url that's displayed looks like 'http://whatever-you-want-here.com/theromyouwant.php'. Obviously that's not a URL that'd be returned in a search, but it gets the point across, I think.

Having a blacklist for those sites is a fine idea, but what would happen when a site got put on that list, and someone came along and needed information from it? Unless you think there should be different blacklists for all sorts of categories, and sites would be put into those respectively. That's a good idea as well, but I can't imagine all the different categories that'd need to be made.

I don't know if you know this yet or not, but you can make the search engine look for exactly the text you typed in by putting quote marks around it. That works quite well when you know exactly what you're looking for, but can't find anything with the 'normal' search.

I think a better idea would be to make the search engines just overlook long strings of random text in a page's content. Of course, I don't run a search engine, or know anyone who does

The results you get from searching for 'Miserable fKitten Yiffer' have to be the funniest thing I've seen all day (or by now, morning )

I read the article over at this site, and I have to say, that's quite informative, but if I read the word 'blog' once more, I'm going to go crazy. I never thought that just by writing in a blog that I might be contributing to something like this Hah. They even have an All Your Base thing down at the bottom

The thing is, with the blogrolling thing they talk about on that page, short of ignoring all blog sites' front pages, how are they going to stop it?

Fortunately, I've not been 'victim' to very many google bombs yet. I ran across a couple back in high school, I remember, but I did'nt know what they were actually called. All I knew was that it was quite strange to see a result that had nothing to do with my search in the first page

I'm torn between Yoshi Valley and Rainbow Road They're both levels that I really like in that game, but I guess if I had to choose the one I liked overall, it'd be rainbow road; the only reason I really like Yoshi Valley is for the sound your kart makes when it goes across the bridge

Strangely enough, I, nor anyone else in my family ever owned this game (owned as in, had a copy. not the other owned ) The only time I've ever played it for longer than 10 minutes at a time is at the place we used to get our hair cut before they moved. The lady that did it ran it out of her house, and her son had an N64 with Mario Kart, so every time we'd go to get our hair cut, we'd play that game some

Back on topic, favorite track: Rainbow Road. If I could pick two, add Yoshi Valley
