My first "response" bit.

The "question" (or thing I have to write to) is:

Possess excellent customer service skills with the ability to deal with clients and deliver quality services under pressure.

I have thus far written:

To provide the best possible customer service, I ensure that my knowledge is kept up to date. I discuss with other IT professionals the latest systems and practices in industry, and I research current information through various media. I make sure to stay informed of current security issues, including recent virus alerts.

When assisting clients, I am attentive and friendly at all times, and I assist clients in a calm and patient manner. This can sometimes be a challenge when clients are stressed and demanding, however I always approach these situations calmly.

Each call at the DECS Customer Support Centre is timed, which puts additional pressure on me to resolve problems within the time limit of 10 minutes. This requires me to know which questions to ask the client in order to be able to solve the problem quickly.

Oh, and I've worked out what these job applications are -- they're the department's way of breaking your spirit....

I didn't notice anything there spelling-wise, but there were two other things that caught my eye. First one:

"I discuss with other IT professionals the latest systems and practices in industry,"

If I was writing this, I'd put "I discuss the latest systems and practices in industry with other IT professionals". It depends on what you think sounds better though

The other thing I noticed was this:

"Each call at the DECS Customer Support Centre is timed..." They know what DECS is, right? I personally don't, but I think the first time you have an acronym in a formal thing like this, you're supposed to put the acronym, and then the full name in brackets

Aside from that, it sounds good to me so far

Yeah, they know what DECS is -- at least I HOPE they know what DECS is -- they are DECS!! (and DECS = Department of Education and Children's Services). So, in this case, I don't think I have to worry about that particular acronym.

As for your first suggestion, yeah, duly noted and changed. I are teh sooo not good at this writing stuff, and the more I obsess over it, the sloppier my writing gets (which is why I'm asking you guys for help)

Appreciate your help muchly!

... um.... just a question -- in the past, do other presidents frequently win Person of the Year?? (EDIT: Stupid question, got up to that section -- wow, Presidents win this a lot? Aren't there any other good People that could win this??)

... and I hope that this doesn't need to go in the other forum... but we shall see.

LOL, eh, I'm just not in the mood to enter the battle royale...

But I do find it weird that the President (current and past) has won so often... I should have a look and see what the other winners of this award were. The President seems like an obvious and popular choice for "Person of the Year" awards.... (regardless of what you may think of that President) There were likely people more deserving of such an accolade that weren't in such an obvious and public position.

Course, I don't know if I should take something from "Time" all that seriously anyways....

It'd be sooo nice if it was. It'd be great to see the spotlight shone on the unsung heroes that are working to cure diseases and stuff like that.

Course, it probably isn't likely to sell anywhere near as many copies of Time....

A better answer would've been "Yes. But not with you".

Most people want to have sex...

Actually, I happen to agree with that.

But still, most people still want it. It is after all wired into us to want it... so we can continue the species. Even if continuing the species is usually the last thing on people's minds when they do it / fantasize about it.

Damn, you people are good at this!! I'm too busy obsessing about what I'm trying to say....

Again, another good call. I like the first one. *edits Job App*

I have till the 7th January to get this all done... I've been freaking since I found the job was advertised on the 17th... (In fact, I freaked so much I spent all weekend procrastinating and I played Kingdom Hearts and read Memoirs of a Geisha instead....)

Wow... I wonder what equipment actually froze for that to happen (and if it was damaged....likely it was). Sounds like they're not prepared for the harsh weather ;;

Well, equipment around here never freezes unless we actually put it in the freezer. It's unusual for us to get minus temperatures at all here....

I've never actually posted any milestone on the actual milestone before, but I just realised a moment ago that this is my 1000th post.

I know for most people, this isn't anything special. It isn't even remotely special for most of you. It isn't really particularly anything special to me.... except for that I find it bloody hard to post enough to get to 1000!

It took me the better part of about two years to build up the pathetic 2500 (or so) posts on the old board, and it's taken me since about March to get my 1000 again now (hey, I must be posting more than I used to... that was quicker than last time!!)

So uh... yay me!!

I still don't know how the hell most of you get your post counts. That remains the biggest mystery for me after all this time....

Now in maybe a decade or so I can reach 10,000..... although I'm guessing before then I may have given up and gone and gotten a life or something... not going to think too hard about where I'll be in a decade... it's too scary. (married? children? eee....)

Well, I'm certainly feeling a little bit down this holiday season. I think it's cause I have a lot to worry about in the aftermath of Christmas though, like job and rent stuff.

Right at the moment, I still don't have time for Christmas! But I don't know what to get anybody, and I'm aware that my budget doesn't stretch very far...

The RIAA puts a lot of them up, but yeah, I can't believe how many people download them and share them (and don't delete the stupid things like they should!)

I use LimeWire, and it tells me when something is corrupt. Which is pretty well all the time if I try to download anything popular (thus I still haven't heard any Franz Ferdinand).

That's exactly one of the reasons why the MPAA don't like BitTorrent. They can't put corrupt dodgy stuff on there or misnamed files

Winter can get some people depressed, I think they call it Seasonal Depression. It has to do with the light levels a bit. Light helps produce seratonin (I think) but in Winter there's less of it.....

But that doesn't explain why I'm feeling a little down. It's the middle of summer here.

I'm also a bit down because I will be mostly alone this Christmas, and it's never fun to spend a big holiday by yourself.

When Bush was first elected, I didn't know much about him, but I heard a lot of people saying he was stupid. I didn't really pay any attention.

However, with 9/11 bringing things into focus, Bush has gotten my attention more.

Since then, it's been a bunch of little things that have annoyed me, most of which Colleen, Ziffski and Cheveyo Chowilawu have already mentioned. Oh, and the "Christian Values" thing annoys me too -- our Prime Minister tries that one too, and it pisses me off as well.

Yeah, Great Britain, Italy and France gave Hitler some of Czechoslovakia to try to appease him... they hoped that if he got what he wanted, the aggression would stop.

It didn't, and I don't think anybody's ever tried appeasement again.

Weird, I didn't know Hitler won an award for that....
