Very sad. New music lost a saint in the industry yesterday. He had a voice that was simply so easy to listen to. I was going to make a thread myself, but I didn't expect many people to know who he was. Good to know there's three of us |

...Unless you go to the DanceDX machine in London ^____^ (sorry, had to trump that one ) Euromix 1: DDR, DDR2nd, DDR3rd Euromix 2: DDR4th, DDR5th, DDRMax Fusion : DDRMax2, DDRExtreme Yes, our Euromix machines are fairly good for all the classics. Euromix 1 has practically been branded the townie machine, with all the classics on there "only for barhugging townies". Shame. Euromix 2 machines are newer and have far, far more songs than Euromix 1. Generally you'll get higher quality pads on the newer EM2, but there are still some excelent EM1s to play on. However, my local EM2 has had it's woofers disabled, which practically leaves you with just the titchy speakers at head height. Not good. I hope they will put all the EM1 classics on Fusion. I can see all the crappy condition EM1s disappearing in favor of Fusion. That means we'll lose Do It All Night, Captain Jack, Dam Dariram, Tubthumping etc. I shall not be pleased if I cannot play those songs any more. |

Serves 'em right for imposing such strict measures on the release of San Andreas. Retailers in the UK have had to cancel their midnight openings because Take Two thinks that it is a breach of the street date. This has meant mass rebranding for HMV and various other retailers. This is only the beginning. There are tonnes of other crappy tasks they've given to retailers. If you don't obey, you don't get re-orders for GTA. Some retailers who broke the street date for previous titles won't even recieve any stock for another week. Yep, the industry is now the publisher's bitch. |

It's not as strong as the UK... I've had the privilage to play on the DanceDX machine (built by the DDRers at DDRUK) and their portable version |
Every mix, plus 1000+ original songs, including Machinae Supremacy's The Great Gianna Sisters We have a few Extremes over here that sport 3rd Mix banners (because we can only get upgraded thrid mix machines, apparently) that have Legend of Max etc, but I'm not too sure about Maxx Unlimited. They don't appear on the song list for the home version, so it's anyone's guess whether the arcade machine will have 'em on it.

Places like Germany are possibly the stupidest place to cross the lines, what with high speed trains approaching 300kph (186 mph). Surely the idiots have noticed that they have the fastest trains in the world in these countries |

Something similar happened with a pirate version of Pokemon I had when I used it with Pokemon Stadium. Not only did I lose my save files, but they stopped working altogether. |
Try to second guess greedy companies like Nintendo, and assume that either data will be incompatible, or the software will purposefully tamper with your data if it suspects something. I know people think Nintendo is a peacefull company what with Microsoft making consoles and everything, but they're not. Nintendo have long been the worst ever since they hit it big with the Famicom.

He's still going to be doing VG Music, which is the most important thing. I think that's basically an admission that he's still going to be working on the Final Fantasy games. |
I don't think it's going to change much. One of the most well loved element of creativity in Final Fantasy never worked for Square anyway - Amano. Hopefully this new company will free Uematsu up to do more great stuff like the Black Mages, and allow him to work on countless more projects.

I know the election came to an end yesterday, but I've been reading the papers today and I'm glad Kerry didn't get in. Now, in 2008, we get to see something really special happening. |
In 2008, it is Hillary Clinton's turn to run as the Democrat candidate for president. Now that is something well worth staying up 'till 6am GMT to watch, whether or not you are behind her... Personally, I think she's great and she'll make a good president. To be honest, why do you think she took Bill back? (ie, I want to see her bitchslapping the rest of the men in politics around the world )

I find some of the opinions expressed here quite upsetting... I can't see why everyone would want to move out when the US already has the worst case scenario President in office right now. |
We haven't even seen her policies yet. If Rudy did run for the Republican candidate then I could see a lot of people voting for him. However, running a country is very different to running a city. I also do note that because Clinton is a woman, there will be a political effect against her, but I'm sure it's not nearly as sizable as the factors counting for her. It is true that people have voted on the moral issues this time around, but in all honesty some of the state ballots (including the gay marriage ballot) shouldn't have gone to the public vote. This is simply because gay people are a minority and didn't stand a chance against being outnumbered by fundamentalist Christian organisations. I also would like to know why "a Clinton" is such a bad thing. While Bill Clinton was in office, he was a good President, despite his womanising. I'm looking forward to Hillary Clinton running for President. At least it would make the election more interesting than last time.

CNN News |
Yet another fatal accident on Britain's High Speed Rail Network. Yet again, my home town Reading is hit hard. Reading has a ver large commuter station, the busiest station outside London. Many of the passengers on the train were probably either from or worked in Reading. I think it's about time someone stepped in and admitted that the high speed rail network is failing us, and not just new trains are needed, but the track itself needs to be radically replaced with a dedicated network, like the French TGV network. It was last year that the Intercity 125 trains were called to be finally replaced after thirty years of service, twenty years more than they were expected to be used. However, it'll be at least a decade before the replacements arrived. Hopefully people will be smart and not blame the train for this accident, and realise that the whole network needs to be upgraded. |
