Spoiler:
Super Crazy, Psicosis and Juventud Guerrera all debuted tonight at the SD tapings.

The bad news... their matches were all on Velocity.

Funny you should mention that, as Quebec's set to ratify their new anti-smoking laws either this week or next week. The laws themselves are said to be extremely strict, ranging from not being able to smoke within nine meters of an educational building/hospital/etc. (which is likely not going to be enforced from day one) to banning smoking in restaurants and bars.

I don't have a problem with the restaurants. I think that being able to enjoy a smoke-free meal isn't too much to ask, and I'd certainly appreciate that. But with the bars... Quebec's probably one of the few places where you can SUCCESSFULLY make the claim that no smoking in bars = greatly reduced business and bar closings. I know of one bar/grill around here that has a non-smoking section, and even then it's only non-smoking at certain times of the day; I've never been in a non-smoking bar. I'm not saying that makes it right, but it's one of those things that makes you wonder why they couldn't have found any middle ground... say, allow a portion of the bar to be set aside for smoking but only if the owner's willing to pay for a government approved ventilation system. Do a 50/50 or 60/40 split.

In short, I can see this law being *adjusted* within two years if business goes south here. The only concession that our health minister's making is that he originally wanted to put the ban in place in January. One would assume that the bar/restaurant owners pressured him enough to push it back to May 2006. (Because after all, if smoking's still permitted on patios/gazebos, then it's a less painful transition throughout the summer before the bitter cold hits in come November/December.)

Wisdom Tree/Color Dreams games weren't exactly known for their sound.

...or their graphics, for that matter.

...actually, aside from some exceptions, the games were pretty dire. Not Sachen-quality dire, but still bad.

Oh, so she forces you to head back down south right in the middle of Tromso's season, huh? :\ Talk about your bad breaks.

Oh well. Hopefully you get net access somehow down there. Take care.

They could always try to go for the money much like what happened to OJ after his trial (they sued him, didn't they?) but I doubt it. Odds are the family couldn't afford a second trial in an attempt to roll the dice for profit.

A good, reliable air conditioning system that's positioned in just the right spot so that it distributes cold air to the entire house = the perfect way to tolerate summer without sticking to your bedsheets at night.

And the top four seeds all made it in...

Super Mario Bros. 3 vs. Chrono Trigger. That's my pick.

Same thing with Metroid, and that's why a new 2D one's in development for the DS. And it'll probably be the same thing with Castlevania, at least on portable consoles.

2D likely isn't going to die... it may well become a gaming niche, but there will always be games which are better when executed in 2D. And as long as people keep buying the games like Ziff said, the genre can still survive for a little while.

Some people remember what happens when they're drunk, and some people... well... aren't quite so lucky.

I've never been *drunk* but some of my friends have been and usually have pretty good memories regarding how stupid they acted.

Kitten Yiffer's a local mod, Trapster's a regular user, and that's why Kitten Yiffer's thread has more posts than Trapster's. Right?

With this post, I'm 1,343 away from 10k. I'm averaging 18.9 posts a day, so by that logic... I have 71 days to go more or less. So mid-August, possibly early August depending on whether or not activity picks up. Hell, late July might not be impossible.

Congrats.

I'm glad I don't have allergies. This weekend... wow. It was like a snowstorm of pollen outside. If you even had the *slightest* allergic reaction to pollen, you'd be dying within five seconds of leaving your house.

Doukutsu is what you would most likely know as Cave Story.

Xeo: The thing is that I have to try keep track of user name changes as well as which ones are permanent/temporary. If something's temporary, then I have to change the name to what most people know the user as. (For example, Hiryuu is Priere right now and will probably end up being something else eventually, so to simplify things he's Hiryuu in the stats.)

Now, if a name change is permanent and I haven't caught on to it, then please tell me in the thread so I can make necessary adjustments.
