Well, properly it is "Tee-dus," and since you can change his name in FFX, Square dodged having ever saying his name. It wouldn't be until Kingdom Hearts that tiny Wakka says his name. I just say "Tie-dus" though, just because.

Tie-dus - The Voice acting shows is that, that is the correct way to pronounce it.
What?

Well, the only method that works for me is just taking a screenshot of what you want in game. Disable whatever layers you need to, hit F1, then hit enter. Touch up with paint, boom, done. That's my method, though whether anybody else uses it, I dunno.

Indeed, I wish there was a third season of it. Though I never knew it was anime. Of course, when you're 12, it's 1993 or 1994, it's Saturday morning, you don't care for details. I loved it, and probably still would if I could watch it again.

Here's my suggestion, anyone that is IP banned not allowed access to even see the site. If you want to stop the lamers from being so damn annoying, you gotta step it up a notch. Realistically, I can't see anyone having objections to this... But, after reading this, what is the general thought?

Well, I believe Jiggly to be the overall worst, mostly because her sleeping move is bugged. (For those in the dark, the move is supposed to recover some HP for Jiggly.) I'm quite good playing with Pikachu, Ness, and Kirby. Actually, I'm pretty good overall with everyone, but I'm the best with Kirby, Pikachu, and Ness.

No, not a 404, a 403. Forbidden access... access denied... etc etc etc. And it's not a matter of someone seeing "you've been IP banned," it's a matter of not letting them get that far. I made my case.

Well, I'm not aiming to make the board's penis bigger. I'm doing "hey you, you're an idiot, you've been an idiot, go away. you aren't wanted here." [/evil] I don't think they are one in the same, but I don't really know myself. I'm too tired to think right now, it's almost 4 am.

Posted on 07-13-04 01:14 PM, in A question about text hacking. Link
He did tell you, but chances are it whooshed right over your head. First, you must find the pointers, they are usually behind the text or whatever they point to.

Example...

say $50000 (or 0x50000, however you look at it) has a pointer... now, pointers are generally 2 bytes, so %50000 and $50001 is the location of a pointer. Let's say the data there reads as follows:
$50000: 92
$50001: DB

your pointer is DB92, because this is what is called "little endian" (I think). You must swap the two bytes. Now, you have the pointer, but where does it point? It's easy to calculate...
since pointers generally if not always point forwards (some verify this?) you must first add $50000, and subtract $10. In most nes roms, the first $10 is the header. The header is never calculated in pointers. Overall, $4FFF0 is added. Now comes the easy part... add DB92 and 4FFF0. 5DB82 should be the number you come up with. That's the data this pointer points to.

Now, this is a dummy example, hopefully you picked up on that already. What Acmlm said, is to basically change the pointer to point to your new text.

So let's say your old text is at $5DC92, and your new text is at $5DCF1. The current pointer should be A2 DC, you'd simply need to change it to DD 01. There, pointer changed, and the new text will display.

Hope this helps.

PS: to the experienced, how'd I do in my first explanation?

Actually, unless you already have the clone, you aren't even supposed to be able to climb the mountain. The Nu in 2300 won't even activate the dolls until all conditions are met. This is rather odd indeed. You may have a corrupted rom, which of course is bad.

requirements: must have the chrono trigger, given by gasper. must have the clone, won in the fair, found in Crono's house after the mini-game. must speak to balthasar's Nu in 2300 after the above are met, it then activates the dolls, and climbing the mountain is possible.

I believe that is all you have to do, I don't remember. It's been a year or so since I've last played this game.

Just out of curiousity, are you using any game genie or PAR codes when playing?

Posted on 07-14-04 01:55 PM, in RPGs ... Do you prefer random or visible battles ? Link
I prefer random all the way. For one, more of an adventure feel, cause "adventure" means you don't know what the hell is going on. If you know you have to fight, where's the excitement? If you know what you are gonna fight, then where's the "oh shit!" value. If you know what you are gonna fight, then you can come up with a way to avoid it, which is more ninja like than RPG-like. You aren't a ninja, unless you are playing Ninja Gaiden... (besides, that's an adventure/action game, not an RPG)

Jagori, your bringing in SoM is an enterly different battle system. Real time vs ATB isn't even comparable... Real time is and forever shall be far superior, but this isn't a battle system comparison. This is a battle method (or something) comparison.

Oh man, so many people wanting visible battles, is everyone that spoiled/lazy?

The first one is at the base of the mountain, turns into a tree. The second is at the snow ledge that you can fall off of. The third says "push the shell, climb the shell." So something's clearly not right. I suggest looking for a new rom. =\

I thought I should give a progress update on what is going on. A new version can be expected in the next couple of days, here are the details.

First, drawing has been very verrrrrrrry slllllllllllllllllloooowwwwww... So, there has been practically and literally 0 progress. Character sprite editing, overworld maps, monster sprites, etc are NOT, repeat NOT in.

Second, there is a bugfix, this was mentioned last month. Well, on June 1, which is way old news.

Third, added effect for the monster editor is in. After some chat in IRC last night, it came to me on how I could actually code it in. I thank all of the members of #rom-hacking for just being there. Now if I could just find something new to implement. (Don't push me with graphics, you will earn a nice shiny blast of ignore.)

That is all for now, just informing everyone that the project is not dead, dying, on ice, or anything like that.

Tonight, he became only the third pitcher to defeat every single team in the majors. Though it is only his second win of this season, this one really counted. Cudos, Terry. And btw, go Twins!

I got two, first, playing Earthbound, last fight with Giygas starts. The song is 8 bit! But that's not the best part. The best part is 52 seconds into the song. For those unfamiliar with what I am talking about... a gift.

Second, Final Fantasy VII... two things in the game, Meteor, and Sephiroth's summon "Supernova." I first address Meteor, the slowest moving object in existance! I also have a comic, but I forgot who made it. Now to Supernova, which ravages the good old Milky Way, wastes away Pluto, Jupiter, the Sun, which then destorys Mercury, and Venus. But... it approaches Earth, and only hits your characters for 98% of their current hit points... =p

A big ol "wtf?!"

Today, we won his 6th straight Tour de France. What's the significance?
No person has ever won 6 tours.
No person has ever won 6 consecutive tours.

The man of Texas has impressed the world, and yet is surrounded by controversy. Go Lance, prove em wrong, and show them what you are made of. Hope you do so again with 7, should you try the Tour again next year.

He relies on his team mates, his fellow cancer survivors, and of course is unwavering fan's support.

Oops, that would be a typo on my part... I did mean to type the 'h', but you're right about what he said.

As for the tour officials, let them try to stop Lance. They will not succeed, and I don't honestly see how they could. They've already broken into his hotel room (or someone did) looking for evidence of doping. Nothing, nadda, blah blah. I hope he returns for the next tour, cause he can reset the bar of endurance and greatness. Just my rambling though.

If Disch were to reply, his response would look something like "Madara owns."

As for me, there's a couple tracks in River City Ransom, some in TMNT 1, and then again, some tracks in Madara do kick ass. But overall, I like a lot of songs, but I don't think I could single one out. If I had to, it'd be a three way tie of Still More Fighting (FF7), Dark Messenger (FF9), You're Not Alone! (FF9). Yet, that doesn't answer...ahh whatever, so I can't pick. =\

This sounds really familiar with something I am doing... =\ But you know what? You should just do it anyway, and when it's finished, you'll have a lot to show off. That'll get some attention. BTW, I haven't really been paying attention to the rom hacking section, so I haven't seen your thread.

Valcion: Isn't that against the rules? Hmm, well if rule breaking gets attention...

Yes, actually, it's in two games in the FF series. The songs makes a second appearance in FF5, after you beat Exdeath in Galuf's world.

But to answer the in game question, yes, it is in. Reading your post, I won't directly say it, you'll have to check the spoiler tag...

Spoiler:

After you get Ultima, you'll need to go into the Mirror Room in Castle Phin. Head up there, and show the Egg. The Hiryuu will be born, take that into the Whirlwind. In the Whirlwind, defeat the Emperor, after a little scene, you'll be in Castle Phin, and then the Waltz will happen. Then the fun stuff begins...

And that, is where you hear the Waltz. The song would be touched in the Final Fantasy Origins re-release/port for the Playstation. You should get the timed NSFE and the plugin at Slick (look down at my signature). If you do not look at the spoiler, rest assured, the song IS in the game.
