Welp typical of me to post late. I did participate last year and wanted to this year, but since I don't have internet right now I think I can't. Maybe next year.

OK for that deck some suggestions of mine will depend on what type you are playing. If it evolves around artifacts it is bad. you might wana splash in a color or 2 since someone could easily shatterstorm and such.

But if you want to keep it at artifacts this is what I would suggest.

1 Sol Ring
4 Mishras Factory's
4 Jade Statues
4 Juggernaunts.

IMO I like all the cards. Maybe if I have the time I will write down the contents of my deck and make you all go wow hehehe...

If you ask for any more suggestions....uhhh I will try and check back every once and a while...

Tooth & Nail, Ravager, and Samurai are the bigger decks now in larger tournaments. Since Onslaught block dropped out of type-2 the diversity in decks has also dropped (no more better Blue/White Control, Elves, Goblins, etc)

Talking Type-1... many options to chose from. Many decks can be great and cheap also they just require more or a strategic mind. Of course blue/white is arguably the best type of decks to play. Propagandas, War Tax, Isochron Scepter with Boomerang or Counterspell, Wrath of God, Exalted Angel, Akroma, Decree of Justice, Eternal Dragons, Orim's Chant, etc... make very powerful decks!

No offense but Type I evolves at times around 2-5 colors since there is so may ways to pull stuff of nowdays. But it you think hard you could build an unstopable 1 color deck and such. Some key cards to think of for Type I are:

Maze of Ith
Sol Ring
Strip Mine
Ivory Tower
Black Vise

Other cards depends uppon your deck...

I was doing some MTPO hacking at 1 time and there is values in the ROM for every Password. Well most. at 1 time I was working on a password generator. It got really confusing since there was no mathmatical patern I could find. All I was able to determine at 1 time was that there was over 30,006 different passwords possible since I was generating records of like 34-2 2 ko and like 34-0 99ko and such at any start point. All my data I had on paper was lost, but I had a good math system going. If I ever get the time I will restart on this generator.

There is no weapon to my knowledge to kill him in 1 shot, but in the cheesy US version in the Easy mode you can kill Metal Man with Metal Blade in 1 shot.

That would be my only other solution also Heatman since Crash bombs take like 2 shots. I have no other solutions.

Right now the Power 9 is way over priced and doesn't have much power anymore to Type I since there is so many combo's to stop it.

Sorry to post in an old thread but I havn't been here in a while. As far as I know the data is not Compressed. I did start working on an editor for this game and gave up after a while. The tile data was too scrambled around for me to make sense.

If you did work hard enough you will find it all...

I poked around it also...there is some data that was editable...otherwise I think some of it was compressed or something...I could play around with it a little more.

OK, I figured out the level data format. It's really easy, but please forgive any errors or wacky grammar, as it's really, really late. Also note that this data only applies to Niagara Falls; I haven't found the pointers to the other levels yet, though everything's stored within the same bank.

Level header: $10010, the second two bytes point to the "screen order table," the rest are probably related to the block mappings (See Coby's post). Everything from $10012-$10025 is copied to $4B-$5E in RAM.

Level layout: The first screen (01) of Niagara Falls starts at $11D5A (note: this is NOT the first screen you start on, that's actually at $120DA). Each screen is comprised of 64 (8 rows x 8 columns) 4x4-tile blocks, similar (IIRC) to Castlevania. The first row is completely obscured by the status bar, the second row is half-visible, and the last row is just barely visible at the bottom of the screen (only 1 row of tiles is shown). Each screen's blocks are stored sequentially, starting from the top-left corner of the screen and ending at the bottom-right corner, running left to right. There is no break between each room's data, and there is no compression.

The "screen order table" starts at $11C3A. Niagara Falls is 8 screens wide x 6 screens tall (this is probably defined in the level header). Each individual screen is assigned a number from 01 to 1F, and this table determines which screen will be loaded where. A visual aid should be more helpful (0F is the starting position, and 0D is the boss room):

This table also defines the level's scrolling boundaries; a value of 00 will stop horizontal scrolling in the current direction. The edges of the level are treated as 00s as well.

I believe there is another table of some kind, separate from the screen order table, that affects how the status bar is handled during vertical scrolling; adding a vertical scroll where there wasn't one before will mess up the status bar (but nothing else). Should be relatively simple to figure out.

There is 2 tables if I remember right...the 21 byte table should be for layout of each screen in chuncks of blocks or something and then there is another table which will have TSA in it. It confused me after awhile that is why I discontinued MWOD which was going to edit this game.

Aystanax was one of my favorite games...that is why I did the editor. Also I have been slowly working on a V1.5 of the editor wich is having a story editor and GFX editor and an enemy editor. I have so little time so it is going really slow. Well I am glad to see someone is enjoying my editor!!

Alot of this code is build off the document I release along time ago about the item placing. I knew about it long before many people. If you have ever played Metroid M I did use it there.

Also Ark42b, if you ahve any metroid hacking questions I am the man since I know where everything is in the rom from title screen data to end screen data, to structures, phisics of metroid working, and so on. I have been messing around with Metroid so much I could sit down and do a simple hack in about 2 days.
