Yeah... and to be honest, I *REALLY* tried my hardest to mimic Dani.

One only wonders what she'd say about my effort.

Well, after a few months things should settle down rank-wise. What with summer coming and lamers getting exposed and all that.

Haven't bothered to put mine up yet. Probably will after I hit 1k.

Usually if you do that much damage to a game... well... you seriously might have some anger issues that need to be resolved.

That stuff might be understandable when you're 7-8, but not if you're 15-16.

I think the term would be "regular user" or "board member".

Some of the dialogue in Shining Soul II is pretty fun - "newbie" is used on more than one occasion.

I don't think ANY of those 5 are overrated. Some are injury-prone and some are past their prime, and Beckham is just a very good/great soccer player.

I think Ryan Leaf WAS very overrated, on the other hand...

I think it shall, especially if the next programs are Taker vs. Booker and Eddie vs. Bradshaw.

Yeah... shake up that roster.

I'm sure they were.

I should be up for BW this Wednesday BTW. Last week was filled with homework but I can put in an appearance for sure. Just finalize the time or whatever.

Posted on 03-29-04 09:48 PM, in Xbox gets price cut Link
(This was rumored last week but Microsoft shot down the rumors - which of course ended up being 100% accurate. Now the ball's in Sony and Nintendo's court - Nintendo's moving a respectable amount of Cubes at their price point, so Sony might have to make a move in the next week or so...)

Following plenty of speculation on the subject, Microsoft has today announced that effective March 30 its Xbox console will be available for $149.99 in the U.S. and $199.99 in Canada--representing a price drop of $30 in each territory. The equivalent of US$45 has also been knocked off the price of the Xbox in Mexico, where the console will now be available for 1,999 pesos.

"We have always been committed to providing gamers with the best entertainment experience available," said Mitch Koch, corporate vice president of Microsoft worldwide retail sales. "At this lower mass market price point, we're opening up this great system to an even broader audience of people who can experience Xbox for the first time."

In addition to its console price drop, Microsoft has also announced lower prices for a number of Xbox titles, as well as the launch of a Platinum Family Hits range of budget-priced games suitable for the whole family. Project Gotham Racing 2, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, and Counter-Strike will be selling for $29.99 effective tomorrow, while Xbox Music Mixer, Voodoo Vince, and Grabbed by the Ghoulies will be available for just $19.99.

The Platinum Family Hits range announced today, which is seen as an expansion of the existing Platinum Hits program, will comprise E-rated titles that are specifically targeted at a family-oriented audience. Several titles are expected to be added to the $19.99 range each year, and the initial lineup includes such favorites as Finding Nemo and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

Posted on 03-29-04 09:56 PM, in The NES GBA SP! Link
This would seem like the perfect April Fools joke, but GameSpot would be a few days early with that. A Famicom GBA SP came out earlier this year in Japan along with the first wave of classic, budget NES titles, so this seems no different. Plus I like the layout - old-school NES controller! I prefer it to the Famicom layout actually.

The only two games we're not getting (at the moment) are Mappy (never came out for the NES here) and Star Soldier (did come out but I guess it's obscure).

Info and pic here.

Why do an April Fools joke three days before the actual date?

It makes sense actually - Nintendo was rumored to be bringing out American versions of the games and the SP since they've done well in Japan.

Actually... *checks* Yup. It's on the news page of nintendo.com, so I'd chalk it up as fact.

I *AM* a bit concerned about the tagline...

The Games are, Like, Way Awesome, and the New Game Boy Advance SP is Bitchin'

NINTENDO! What the hell's up with the casual swearing?

wite: It was announced in Japan a while back but Nintendo had only planned an American release. There was no fact or announcements or anything.

Otherwise they'd have that article 2 months ago.

I would LIKE to see Zelda done as a movie, but I dunno if they'd stay faithful to the original... watch Link get a smart-talking sidekick played by Bernie Mac or something.

I know that there's no lockout. Heck, even GB's never had region lockout.

But who wants to pay extra for overseas shipping for a Famicom one?

There is innovation and creativity in games, but let's be honest - if you come up with something original these days, it has to put a new spin on gaming - period. See the EyeToy, Bemani dance games, online gaming, etc.

If you don't think your original concoction will amount to anything on the shelves, then it's safer to go with a tried and true formula - but put a new spin on THAT. Take RPG's for example - there's hundreds of them on the market, and at least half of them follow a cookie-cutter formula or borrow innovations off other games. The rest at least try to come up with unique storylines, unique attack systems, replay value, etc... And in a few of those cases, you get a mega-hit.

WWX: Rumble Rose (Doesn't an all female wrestling game count for ANYthing?)

Been done in Japan.

Cymoro - There's a difference between people who destroy games to be "cool" and those who just throw temper tantrums. In my opinion at least.
