Some things should remain secret - as for DW:TLC it might encourage more ROM hackers to implement and invent custom codes/blocks.

I'm running ZSNES Windows on my old P II and it never crashed

Put more different screens onto your webspace. The same ledges/tileset is used in nearly every screen
The overworld looks nice though; what you might try, are some smaller pallette changes, as long you don't make it hurting your eyes or totally mismatching colours, if working on a level only hack.

Heh, I got the wrong dump patched
It was the NoTitle version, but everything messed up - need to search the right ROM first

Heh, the two new screens also looks neat; although it seems hard to come over the gap in the second new screenie

I have support of AIM, MSN, ICQ, YIM and Jabber in Miranda, but I have only accounts in ICQ, AIM, Jabber and MSN

But as for keeping official contacts, I'm using ICQ and AIM onl<, since in MSN it is only possible to search for email addresses and not for UIN/# and/or screennames like in the other messengers. So I don't want to give out some things to everyone

In fact, depending on how much one inhales, the very opposite could be true. In particular, intensive inhalation may be more likely to cause alcohol toxicity than binge drinking.

There's one point here.

And that idea just ist dumb weird; if the known/posted issues might be nullified mentioned in the article, you just could spread out a giant cloud of that stuff and make dozens of people drunk - including children.
I'll rather stick to the good ol' bottle/glass. It is just a matter of fact, that I also like to enjoy the _sight_ of a well-brewn beer with a healthy color and nice foam on its top. Other than else, I don't drink "hard" alco-stuff at all

The same already may happen in SMB3, like in world 7 where there is one room in a level, containing a gint question block with a hammer suit. The exit pipe is upside-down. When entering that room while you're Raccoon Mario, hit the question block, transform to stone and let you drop on the bouncing hammer suit -> You'll also get a grey colour pallette and cannot leave the room using the upside down exit pipe and will have to have run out the time to continue

Changes occurred only smaller and one major one- my life got worse since the first half year, but I'll have to deal with it. Other than else, other changes are only two ones

Two days ago I gave up my plan to let grow a full beard; now it is limited to the area below the neck like before
I'm letting my hair grow too since Feb 04, I had this wish already longer ago but didn't dare to try it.
Even if people will say "This doesn't fit you!" (though no one said that yet), I wanna have my hair long; at least five centimetres longer than in height of my shoulders.
Currently my neck is covered fully and in the front the stuff begins to cover my eye-brows more and more. An estimed one and a half year I'll be waiting patiently, ignoring the fact in that time to have a shitty hair style - but it will pay back in form of a nice ponytail when I'm done

Long hair for both genders = teh woot and means 'freedom'

Hehe, now even a small manager for handling install scripts and such pops up; even Mozilla's update page got blocked the first time; nice
Now I only need to get again my favourite Noia eXtreme 2.0 theme, the other extensions and I'm feeling familiar again; especially using the download sort and download statusbar extensions

Of course Anya did not reach the syndrome. It could have been .... another ... Anya ... up here

I got once Reinfors Syndrome - when I was in a posting spree. I posted like mad. Got about 700 posts in my first year, and in three months I had something above 2,5k in year two
Before the crash, I think I was about 3000+ posts.

But I don't care about the counter anymore. The only thing interesting me is the custom title; but it is not that long left until it to get it "legally" using the second option with beeing registered for at least 200 days and having 1000 posts

I'm using the German AntiVir scanner, which is also available in an english version.

It is free, very small and doesn't suck up too much system resources at all like Norton AntiVirus. NAV might be good, but its qualities got less good over the years - and, yes, I'm comparing a free with a pay-"ware" virus scanner

The AVGuard is active and tracks every time you open a file, instantly displaying a warning with options, when the file is infected. And if you feel disturbed by it, right-click and disavle it temporarily.
The only disadvantage is the update, since you need to load the full virus definitions, when they are new ones, fully and you will have to update manually - but there is the scheduler which allows you automatically do that whenever and as often you want per day - then, unlike starting AntiVir Interner Updater by hand, it downloads new definitions automatically and installs them

And there's no screwing up the browser using outdated extensions or themes anymore
The extension manager refuses to install extensions, if the version doesn't support the newer one (as long the extension is programmed right and a version stamp checks the browser's version, comparing it with the ones the extension support(s)).

My Firefox1.0 FR is slightly buggy, it opens external links, such as from posting on phpBBs in a new window than a tab - and I checked Firefox _should_ open them in a new tab
But the good old middle-click - opens in new tab - still works; I only need to wait when the "Single Window" extension will be optimized for 1.0, then trap links will be opened in new tabs anyway

And Firefox even can be tweaked - a tool named Mozilla Optimizer makes some slight changes inside the browser, like enabling pipelining mode, so you'll notice a remarkable speed up - even for dial up users. These changes can be done by hand of course (simply create a user.jr file inside the profile folder and put in the changes), but the tool is more convenient; and if a problem occurs, it even removes all done changes

This page contains a nice flash game to test your moving skills. It should not be too hard, since the difficulty level increases very moderately.

I had to give up at 180, since I couldn't close one window at the right edge of my screen, instead got into another window - everything duped and soon I was doomed not too later on

Hor far do you get ?

Get a virus scanner, update it and run it in safe mode. Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy are nice ad- and spyware killers but cannot replace an antivirus at all.
And also trojans and worms can block certain files or entries from accessing them.

If you still can't write to the registry at all, even if not creating a new administrator profile (since you even didn't say which OS your are using, I'll have to guess for Windows XP) - then grab your most important data like save files from games, images and your stuff, burn it on CDs/DVDs and make a clean reformatting and installing.

Then, after Windows XP got installed freshly, turn on the Windows firewall, go to Windows Update (or if you have a CD, just install Service Pack 2 from there) and all other updates. If you don't want to install SP2 (some computers got fucked up after installing it), then simply download SP1 and all other updates except SP2.
When you are done, only turn the firefwall off if you have installed another one.

Oh, get a better firewall than the windows' built-in one after you made the security updates (like Sygate Personal Firewallr Zonr Alarm), download a virus scanner, keep both of them updated as new as possible ... and don't use Internet Explorer anymore. Get Mozilla Firefox at http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox, and you'll have a good and fast browser - and no more or way less tracking cookies on your system.

Posted on 09-20-04 06:29 PM, in Thinking about getting a cell phone... Link
Most of very young cell phone users are getting them from their parents ("Mom, can I have one, pleeeeeease. The other ones also have one! ") and then I'm experiencing calls like this when I'm heading home from work in the bus:

"I'll be there in ten minutes!"
"Please bring me some potatoes and a bottle of milk" etc.

Or people having the big new models just flipping out of their bag when being in a crowd, just for showing "My dick cell is better then yours !" or just "random" playing of their newest polyphonic tracks

As for me, I also have one, but I'm using it rarely and it is quite handy in some cases.
I don't like affect too much attention, so inside a bus I'm having it in silent ring mode and not shouting when someone is calling

As for recommendations, I cannot help too much.
I have a 3200, but I got a used one (my 3310 broke after four successful years), but you can take nearly any phone today. The included camera is a toy, but as for mostly messaging and telephoning any cell would fit for me

Via IrDA or a data cable you can load your favourite MIDIs into the phone, so when you can take your most favourite (game) tracks with you.

The Nokia 6230 even has an included MP3player with a lot of space - but since you don't need these extras, get the phone which fits within your price range and appearance

Paying up to two Euros for maybe 20 KB of data ... like a ringtone
It's even cheaper to download these using your cell via GPRS. A good free page, except your GPRS costs, is http://www.polyphonicringtonez.com/wap, only accessible via WAP/GPRS from cell phones, offers a variety of tones ... Watch your costs also, so don't browse the net for 10 minutes using the cell phone. Usually a 8-9 KB tone costs about 70 cent for GPRS includeds navigating through "Seach PolyTone" (prepaid).

The disadvantage is the lacking optimization ... some of the tracks are missing a channel, but all of them work on my phone; unlike some downloaded MIDIs using double channels or "heavy" instruments, sent to the phone via IrDA

What about a ten-year-old boy along with five other children, holding the newest CD of his favourite band and asking a vendor "I need 50 CD-Rs. On which floor can I find them?" ?

As already stated, it is not the vendor's concern what you are doing with that pad.
As for me, I have a Speed Link USB force feedback pad with eight buttons, though ZSNES doesn't support the rumble feature , but I'm very satisfied with it.

Rather pay a little more for a good pad than to buy dozens of cheaper ones, like I did many years ago

Hopefully that'll be soon.

If you are on a really older machine like me, it might be slower when starting due to the time to start-up FF.
My new comp will come soon,so I can at least open so much tabs I want ... unlike now
Don't forget, the essential files for IE are already loaded inside Windows, while FF needs to load everything.

You also can enable pipelining by adding/editing the proper .css or .js file in Firefox. See one of my posts on page 1 or 2, there I linked to a small program called Mozilla Optimizer. It is in German, but does these changes automatically for every version. Also the changes can be undone at any time

This should speed up Firefox a lot.
