You are very limited with overworld palettes. It's best to only use palettes 5 through 8 (I think that's the range, someone correct me if I'm wrong) and only the first 8 colors of each palette. Using anything else is just asking for trouble. (edited by Juggling Joker on 02-21-05 04:21 PM) |

You probably screwed something up then. I've used ExGFX on submaps with no problem (well, if you don't count the severe palette limitations, the fact that animations still use the original GFX, etc. as problems). Considering the number of different tilesets (maybe 7 or 8) and the fact they all use more or less the same palettes equals a quick and easy fix. I certainly don't mind a change every now and again. Intentionally changing just the palette of the status bar can be a refreshing change. However, when it's an obvious side effect of simply importing a palette from another game that you just don't care enough to fix, well... that says a lot about the maker. |
