Kitten Yiffer: Glast Heim definitely has a lot of strong undeads, but you might need a bit of help there...

At E3, I was able to play the Nintendo DS and all, hold it in my hand and everything. A few things I noticed about the Nintendo DS was the fact that... A. The D-Pad and Buttons were VERY small. Ridiculously small. B. The Power Button was on the same side as the gameplay buttons... you'd accidently shut it off while playing! C. Seemed really bulky, and not very sleek. D. Where are the damned speakers? E. There is no place to store the stylus! Well, today Nintendo has apparently fixed ALL of these things... and decided that Nintendo DS is the official name, since it's became so well known like under that name. Take a look! Incredible!!! http://www.planetgamecube.com/news.cfm?action=item&id=5472 If you wanna see what the one I played with (the prototype E3 model) looked like... http://www.nintendo.com/e3_2004/ds/index.jsp I'm so excited! |

Looks cool, but I doubt I'll be in any kind of a rush to get it... I just picked up a GBA SP, and I'm probably getting a PS2 around Christmas-time... I'm usually somewhat behind the curve for consoles and portables. But still, definitely looks cool... and I wonder how game developers will cope with 2 screens? That could get interesting.... |

Bah, I couldn't like this thing more than my SP if you paid me. It's never about the looks with Nintendo, it's always gotta be about the games. Just needs to be that way. If Nintendo, out of all of the developers out there, doesn't pour its heart and soul into this thing like it does with the rest of its first party stuff, then it just won't work out. The GBA is so successful because Nintendo really tries with it, giving people everything from awesome new games to rereleases of old games that people love. Without any of that, the DS is gonna crash and burn like the Saturn.

That's very true. Remember the Virtual Boy? That thing crashed in less than 6 months. I must admit though, it was pretty unique idea. Mario Crash and Galactic Pinball were very entertaining. (edited by Wyvernlord on 07-28-04 08:48 AM) |

Kitten Yiffer, find a wiz in your level range (which is 15 levels difference, for anyone still doubting), make sure s/he has decent dex and go to the MvP arena. I don't know which level you're at, but Mycket gained over 50% whenever we killed Incantation Samurai. At level 83 and higher. Plus you get decent loot. If you're fast XD Edit: I also leveled up my BS to lvl 70-ish, together with Adrian's BS. Fun, but now bathories give shit exp -.- (edited by Sofie on 07-28-04 08:54 AM) |

I already saw both the prototype and the 'commercial' version. But they decided to change how the cardridges will be, again. But It'll still support older GB cardridge from what I heard.

Originally posted by Wyvernlord Its lifespan was actually 14 months, according to an old issue of GamePro I have somewhere. Just feel the need to be a nitpicking asshole about this sort of thing. As far as the DS goes, I'm not in any big hurry myself, as I'll likely be grabbing a GBA SP soon (Mmmm, backlight) so's I have something to do in the hospital besides sleep. |

Looks less bulky than the prototype version, nice. *Wonders how much the prototypes are worth after some years * I think it do pretty well, unless the price tag is too high. But I don't think it will beat GBA very quick thought. ;P |

Ailura is on level 80... well I maybe could take the MVP arena with some help. (I have been stuck on level 80 for some time now XD) In meanwhiel I just bash bathories with my Swordsman, I can only take one at time for now. But I get so much EXP whenever I beat one. Dude, we got sofie up to level 90 (from 83) in two hours or something, it went quick as hell. You need to get to 81 or 82 to party with me though if you want to share with me and Sofie. And as always, you only get what we leave behind in loot >D So far I've killed almost all Mvp's, except mistress, luckily I haven't met her yet, she was stuck on a big mushroom last I saw her Incantation Samurai is my favorite, massive exp, it just takes time to kill. His mob is good too. They alone would give you 2 or 3% per kill, and he summons them alot. And I kill them alot >D A question to other wizards here, does LoV push the enemies back? Because that's what I like about SG, it's like a shield, if I cast it and go in the area, nothing can touch me >D Except for Drake when he supposedly 'changes' element, however that happens, although I usually kill him before that happens I almost killed Bapho too, but the arse teleported away like, everytime I met him and dealt damage The Snake lord thingie gives alot of exp too, I didn't fully kill it though since it can teleport when it looses XD I got the mvp kill though since Slayn (Vivi) finished it off later when I was still in the arena. |

I hit it once and it was dead. xD LoV doesn't push back, it stops them at best, and usually just slows them while the effect is going on, then they catch up with you, like JT does, and proceed to kick your arse. Spamming LoV only lags everyone and the monsters still keep walking towards you. |

I had Game Gear long before Game Boy, Cy. It took six batteries and it's battery life was what? 1-3 hours depending on the game? That's what it seemed like anyway. Anyway the point is it ate up batteries and the Game Boy did not, which is probably why the Game Boy succeeded. I mean, Game Gear's commercials openly bashed the Game Boy Actually Sega did that a lot. Anyway, the thing is that you imply it was just support and better games, which while definitely part of it is not the entire reason. (edited by Kyouji Craw on 07-28-04 11:46 AM) |
