Yeah, they were saying before the hurricane hit that those refineries were going to be down for awhile and to expect gas prices to jump up.

Not sure if it's exaaactly Yahoo but it asks me what news I want on my homepage

Wtf? You´re saying that it was wrong to forbid it?

Enjoy this moment while you can.

Well, what business is it of yours if a girl wants to engage in a transaction with a business to sell her soiled panties, and then if said business wants to engage in a transaction with a middle-age man to sell said panties? I mean I know it's weird and stuff; still, they're free people that want to trade their own stuff.

My sentiment exactly. Just because something seems bizzare doesn't mean you should rally against it. I find furry artwork to be absolutely bizzare and cannot possibly comprehend why so many people like it so much, but I don't want to outlaw furry porn, and I don't discriminate against those who enjoy it. I stick by the philosophy of, "As long as no one's getting hurt and everyone consents, it's fine by me."

Well, I never said anything about rallying against it. I was just talking about outlawing it. Yeah, it's weird and stuff, but people do have their rights to engage in their own transactions.

Alright, in my program, I have a little sprite edit modal dialog. It opens fine. I then have a little stage select modal dialog that I'm trying to get loaded, but when it loads it like gets skipped over because nothing happens. Immediately after, when I go to load my sprite edit dialog (which worked before) it won't load. However, I can load my modeless toolbox and the modal Open/Save dialog, which allows me to load my sprite edit dialog again afterward.

What is the cause of this bizarre phenomenon?

I'm putting the finishing touches on my editor and it will be ready for beta testing this weekend, so I am taking applications now for beta testers. In the spirit of peter_ac, here are the criteria:

I want people who have experience in ROM hacking (even if only using other editors); I want people who have some experience in SMB3; and knowing programming is a plus. I expect you to have a copy of the SMB3 ROM.

Here is how I'll do it:

By Sunday night (or earlier depending if there is a dearth of applicants coming about late), please submit your application by replying to this thread and post why you think you should be able to beta test this. By Monday morning, I will post the user names of the dozen people who won the application process and will send y'all copies of the editor along with documentation on it. The Beta testing will last 3 days until Wednesday evening when I will work on the release of the ROM. Beta testers will each post their results of the testing on this thread.

For all others, when I get home tonight from work I will post screenshots of the program. If you have any questions, post them here in this thread.

K, y'all? Accepting applications!

What, what do you mean? Do you mean like what features I'm asking you to test? I thought that generally people would each do individual features and point things out that they see as erroneous or clumsy.

Is that what you were saying?

Sorry for the delay; I tried posting the images, but the board seemed to have gone down.

Anyway,

Roneo Strife,
You won't have to code anything.

captain Qball,
Thanks!

DahrkDaiz,
I think I understand now. Yes, your presence on the board speaks for itself.

The coding is now done. I've done my own test, and it went quite well. I made a world 1 hack exclusively in my program, covering all aspects, and it works. Now we'll see what issues the beta testers catch.

And now the images. Please click each link to view them:

http://www.freewebs.com/beneficii/sprite.png

http://www.freewebs.com/beneficii/tiles.png

EDIT: Unfortunately, you'll have to right-click on the links and save as to view them.

EDIT 2: Hmmm, perhaps somebody could host them? I don't have time to set up any more accounts today; I have to leave in a few minutes to go to work.

Rip The Jacker,

Thank you for following up my request! By any chance you would want to join up?

Roneo Strife,

Sorry it hasn't been released to the general public yet. You may partake in the beta testing though which should start around this weekend.

I'll at least look forward to the public release. Finally, I'll be able to create any kind of an overworld without any problems. Good work!

I hope the beta testing doesn't take too long. I've been testing this out myself as we speak; the beta testers are for catching things that I might have missed.

I plan to have a public release on Wednesday, just so you know.

The following have been accepted for the beta testing (in the order they signed up):

DahrkDaiz
Roneo Strife
Kamek77

(end of list)

Others may still sign up until Sunday night, but the ones already selected can soon start their beta testing. When I finish writing the documentation tonight for the program, I'll send by Acmlm's Board PM a link to the zip file containing the program, the documentation, and 2 IPS files for an ASM patch. Thank you y'all!

Also, if people are willing to host the public release of this program, please reply to this thread.

Thanks!

Oh, and despite what the source code for my layout may leave you to believe, it's not my geocities account.

I gotta sit out on the beta test due to other involvements, though.

Okay thank you! I'll probably want to have multiple hosters; and I'll want to put it on Zophar's, Acmlm's, etc. Once I get the release, I'll submit it to those sites.

I'll contact you via PM on Tuesday or so, OK?

That sounds good; how much did you find? You can go ahead and post them; though in another thread if you don't mind; I wanna keep this thread about the release of my program.

Making it SMAS compatible I would think would almost require rewriting a lot of the code, since it was designed to work with the NES's CHR format, but it's something that I can probably try in the next months.

When I look to see who's doing what online in the past couple days, I keep seeing people (including moderators--I don't remember which ones) looking at this link:

/status.php?u=2183

which is fabio's stats. Why are people so interested in fabio's stats?

EDIT: I've seen Kasumi-Astra looking at it, and just now Forte.EXE and Unknown Sion.

I can add DahrkDaiz to that list.

Don't worry people - It's just because fabio has his status inserted in his layout. Since fabio posts nearly everywhere, and his stats load after the thread itself, online.php says that this is the last page you visited. There you are.

So basically, if your stat was the last to load thing to load on a page, it would be under "Last Clicked"? Thanks Durfar!

Danielle,

Posted on 09-13-05 05:01 AM, in The usefulness of .bat files in backing up your ROMs Link
I'm not sure how many have made use of the .bat files; the way the icon looks makes it sort of forbidden. It's actually quite simple; a .bat file seems to be simply a Command Prompt script. For example, if you tend to have to do this on the command prompt alot:

del c:\files\myfile.myf

followed by

copy c:\files2\myfile.myf c:\files\myfile.myf

It can get annoying typing it out over and over again, or having to go to Explorer to do it visually. This is where the magic of .bat files comes in. You can simply enter the statements in the order you want them executed dileneated by a return carriage:

del c:\files\myfile.myf
copy c:\files2\myfile.myf c:\files\myfile.myf

Open up Notepad, type the statements like that and then save as a .bat file. When you want to execute the .bat file, just open it up from the operating system and you can watch it go!

I wonder how many people know this. I recently discovered it by accident.
