Lunar IPS too here. The fact SNES Tool is more a multi-functional tool and applying/creating IPS patches is not good for the convenience; also it runs in DOS afair LIPS has only a VERY small user interface with three buttons ... so _everyone_ can use it in an easy, convenient and reliable way (a patch never messed up my unchanged ROM, unless the patch itself was not broken) |

Do you a preset table (like from zophar.net or other ROM hacking pages) or did you make your own ? Maybe trying the opposite thing might help you; either using a table made up from scratch or downloading a finished one for that game from the Internet? I had the same problem with the letter combination "st", which showed up in a different color in my hex editor and seemed to be like ... a command (?), also Hexpose for DOS that way ... And "st" is used quite often in German |

There are other more important things to be done: - fixing editpoll.php - either removing the disabled /search.php completely or trying to rewrite it that is uses less bandwith on performing a search - redirecting "Last post in ..." to the right page and post So when even these things are not done, I think the Frog Coins won't be implemented beforehand (the rank sets were an exception though ) |

The idea _might_ be nice, but phpMyAdmin is really easy to configure (upload all, simply edit confic.inc.php, fill in server, database, type and password, upload that .php again) and PMA is much more powerful than that program And I have no big clue how to deal with them; but working with PMA really doesn't require too much, if you simply want to add forums, ranks etc. |

Might be a nice idea, but due to the limited user interface and amount text (happily, since it is only used for applying and creating IPS patches), but on the other hand most of the people should not have problems patching a ROM with the original LIPS version from Fu Anyway, since you are doing a lot of translation projects (like a SMW Netherlands patch), Ok Impala!, nice work anyways |

Congrats, Cymoro, three years is nice in one forum/message board Heh, I registered in 06-09-02, so I'm here for at least more than two years, in year one I posted ~600 times, in year two (on the old an that board together) about 3200 times; so I'd have about 3.8k posts today In another forum I will celebrate my personal three-year-anniversary in October 04 ... still time to wait |

Heh, I already said it; Sion reminds me of a certain character in a game mentioned in my sig... you may guess which one, though these are the original names |

Nothing too rare, but I have ~110 manga here ... the most valuable thing I have may be my Rudra no Hihou cartridge; but since there is the ROM and the proper English translation out by Lakmir, nobody pays attention to it. I don't care, it's my own little treasure, in a very good shape and saving now working with a NTSC SNES, hehe The last thing I collected were Micky Mouse comics when I still was in elementary school, until the 7th or 8th class I collected them and had about 250 volumes of it ... but they vanished after I moved several times |

I had the same thing while I used SmartFTP. It has a good overview, indeed and a more neat design than FileZilla (what FreeDOS already recommended - I'm using it since few months too and I'm very satisfied ), but FileZilla has the better user interface and it seems to work much faster than SmartFTP. About the reminder windows in SmartFTP at startup: I think the "Buy now!" window appears every day when you start up the client in a specific time window; but what's more annoying is the fact, it changes your current page in yoru browser to www.smartftp.com, it is annoying, but this can be prevented if you simply close the window by using the task manager; Smart FTP will start up normally but won't touch your current page in your browser But on the other hand ... there's nothing too special on SmartFTP anymore, since there are out far more and even better free FTP clients |

I was Gandalf The Grey before, but since I'm really fond of the SNES game Rudra no Hihou (yes, I'm using these three words again ) and I'm using that animated sprite since about one and a half year, I chose to get close to the char's name : Surlent In IRC I'm using that name even longer. The char seems to have slight similarities to my behaviour. He is no perfect mage or hero and even makes mistakes (see his chapter in the game - like in that phase when he loses his body and is sent to the Netherworld), relatively calm but seems to be wise And that animation simply rocks again and again |

To your first question - Very important: - You need to record Mario's movements AFTER installing the ASM hack; anything else doesn't work. The proper option inside the bonus menu install that hack into the ROM temporarily, so install it, record the movie, insert it and when you are done, then simply uninstall it again. Also you need time to record it; especially when dealing with longer runs. you want and need to do some finetuning |

Didn't notice major differences except there were no or no bigger downtimes recently ... but more important than to speed up the server is to back up the database frequently enough; usually it would be nice to have it backed-up once per day, currently it is 37 539 436 bytes in size, that should not take too long | |||

Uneless I'm using animations (animated PNGs -> MNG; animated GIFs -> GIF ()), because MNG still is no match for animated GIFs (), I'm using PNG since a longer time due to its better qualities with less space And the transparency issue in the first post is very weird. PNG has far better properties than GIF, only to mention the support of one alpha-channel, semi-transparency and such (except my post background image maybe, but I'm too lazy to rip the title screen new just now ) I usually use the default PNG optimizer settings in my PSP7, unless I'm working with really large files which should turn out smaller from file size. |

There were other people banned for insulting the board staff before If critisized in a normal way, any problems with certain staff members could be solved openly in a calm manner or with a PN to the person in a friendly (!) way, but something like "omfg, you moron, suck my dick" and so on, I think, a ban is just the right solution. I am moderating a single forum, okay that's no comparison with an RPG Maker and a ROM hacking forum, but as for Apple's mentioned rules we have one, like the thread creator may bump his/her thread(s) with a certain reason, it doesn't play a role how old that topic is. I think the bumping rule should be extended to at least one month; so nobody bothers to create the 78356789345th "What's youer favourite Mario game ?" thread in future (okay, it cannot be prevented, but it cuts down these repetitive threads in general ). Personally I have no problem with the staff here, since I never got a warning or ban (it also would be funny though ). Except this small bumping attitude everything is fine (an imho too short time period); what about a ROM hacker who wants to bump his large thread with lots of data, after he didn't find after a long time, say two months. Is this not better than to create a new one ? I'm not active enough to comment on all staff members individually |

That didn't happen to you before ? I don't have a NGC, so I don't know if this happens more often, but if it is something similar like a Windows BSoD, it is weird. As pointed out, calling the customer service, if you still have warranty on your console, might help you. At least it doesn't kill your data on your memory cards; but on the other hand you don't know if it may haoppen just when encountering a boss in a hard game; so it should be time to check if a repair would rent (if you don't have warranty anymore; in Germany the minimum warranty usually is two years after buying the device) or if a new GC might be the better choice. Register an acount on a free hosting service, most known ones are Lycos, Angelfire and Photobucket Especially the last one is nice.. Then simply upload your images, either with your browser, or (better), if the service provides it, using an FTP client (I recommend FileZilla; the data you usually receive in your confirmation mail). Some hosts don't allow direct hotlinking, in that case simply upload the file normally and rename its extension to .txt on the server (!). Then use some HTML or [ < [ |
