Atma X: I can help you learn ASM if you have time for it. If you do sent me an email and I will dig into my documentations and send-you sonting to begin whit. 1st you shoud learn general ASM programing for 8086 bazed cpu-s (making an tiny program whit the debuger or direct whit hview, implementing some memory modeles for some ports like dos, win16, win32) and after some instruction-s-set-s for other cpu-s as famicon G65SC802, G65SC816, SPC-700 ...

About unlookin, yes can be done but not by anyone and not for all rom-s, when I will finish my hack I will loock-it manualy. If you unloock an rom loocked by LM you will have some palette problems and may some exgfx problems depending on how big is the rom. You can end-up whit combinations from the last insered levels and this is nice :

Send my a .ips (yours not others) for 2MB rom looked whit LM (I do not have time for roms whit custom music or larger ones) and I will send you the .ips whit (for) the un-looked one (some data can be loast). If you expand a ROM to for ex. 4MB and its not changet very mach, then you can "remove" the expansion whit "Send Utility" whit the "Remove Intro" option, edit the rom name, insert the removed 512 b header ...

I have made a fix for v1.1 but can not assemble coze I do not have all explorer dialogs for my Borland C++ Builder 5.5, so I do not work on it till I get a complete set.

If you send-me an email I will send-you in 2 or 3 days the 8192 file to edit whit some exemples and some personal notes. Or better I will put this on my site when will be finished? If you do not know how to use a hex editor or a block inseter tool use the msdos editor in bynary mod and copy, past, find (...) options to find and past the data but make shore to not change the size of your rom file!

1st where can I get DW3 with changed music? (if can)
2nd If you wan to unlook an hack, well ... in some you can not get access for all levels dependig of the style in which the hack was made, but you can 100% access the OW, 30% exgfx, 20% or more levels, just with minimal unprotection. If you are more experinmented then you can cut out the custom blocks manualy, the title demo screen etc.
My hack use 73 exgfx (in random numbers) so far, and for protection I save just one time to the clean ROM the new levels, map 16, palettes, etc. using just one save for level and then I protect then my ROM with LM and manualy. I use this metode couze I give my beta versions to kids in my town and I have no ideea where they will end up

I have big snes gfx files converted from gb, gbc & gba - wario games but I ready have 73 extra gfx in my hack so I will make just one or two wario theme levels ...
BTW, I fix the palette for an object just beafor I use it, if not work I adapt or use another one

Blackhole89's editor isn't that far to release I think (?), what I made so far will be no help for others since I have troble using it for now on my system and I do not have time to fix the bugs for now (it's working just in an custom enviroment and does not make that mach).

You can upload DW3 on your site.

SMWExpert:
You will not be able whit an custom patch from DW1 or DW2 to DW3, just to change all music in your hack, not to make custom music, and it's SMB3 music from SMA from what I know!
I made last year an hack (bugy) whit just two songs changed using the original engine (player) from SMW. So SMW hacks can use difrent engines and this is my problem whit spcedit that will detect 1st what engine SMW or oher game use and edit the custom music keeping the origial engine allready in the rom.
This ken thake some time ...

From what I undestod blackhole89 is making an editor that will update the SMW engine to SMA engine 1st, and then update the custom songs from saved .spc files.

I do not think that is fare to make all hacks use SMA (N-SPC) engine

I get the BCB cd next wek and I will fix some bugs in the last version coze I failed to convert and assemble in masm.
I made an option to join and split back after editing the exgfx files extracted by LM. This is bugy when you use random numbers for the .bin files ...

I think it's more easyer to have an 8192 binary file on your hdd whit the changed title screen pointers coze this can be edited any time whit an common binary editor as 3dedit ...

In an n-spc dump (SMAS+W), ingnoring the file header and the id666 tag, just the last memory region (beafor the binary header) is changed but I can not figure for what? I come to the concluzion that you have to edit the original pointers in the rom and not the extra data, but I am not sure.

I disected the rom header (music track pointers) and I try to undestend what is what in 100% binary; byte by byte! But I will diassemble in future.

I am able to to change the songs order so far, as an demo I relesed an unoficial version of my hack that you can download at: http://pubory.3x.ro/pub/patch/dworyx.exe.

If this can be made manualy, then I do not see the point of making an special program (not the compozer, but just for song configuration in MW) coze some extra options can be added to LM (not new implementation just an more complex options). The compozer is needed to edit the extra track data (and the opriginal, to make-it compatible whit the asm hack), and not just in MW since this data can be riped from SMA, YI, MK, and other SNES games.


SUPER MARIOWORLD: SMB3 - extra music track data from SMA+W (SNES)

This will expand the original snes Mario World ROM to 4MB and will
insert the extra music data from Super Mario AllStars + World used
in DemoWorld 3. This track does not have custom music for Yosy

To use this songs you need to change some ASM values in the cardrige
header after you aplly the patch to an clean ROM. Check for the 512
byte header beafor you use the IPS and use "Lunar IPS".


Editing exemple using an hex editor:

0308h from 0F to 61
030Fh from B1 to 00
0314h from 98 to 80
0319h from 0E to 62
0349h from D6 to 00
034Eh from AE to C0
0353h from 0E to 62
035Fh from E4 to C0
0364h from 03 to 63
03??h ; if you find this one let me know!
18C4h from 0E to 48 ; this value will set the song nr. ?? (used for demo screen) to random or to specific
18C7h from 01 to 15 ; this value will work as the above but the nr. used are song numbers from 00 - 18
(00 it's 01 from "Lunar Magic")

If someone change this values back to default it is no need to remove the extra data to use original songs!
