Well, Bella, even when on 56k, downloading a new version of Firefox doesn't occur that often; and it is even less than the full install of Internet Explorer, which takes about 70MB when you have either an extremly old version or no IE at all (YES, it can be removed, though this is not that easy; or if you use an external IE remover); I'm on ISDN, I download with 7.6 KB/s only, but some things are important ... I already downloaded 60 and 70 MB files with that

I went to www.yahoo.com, signed up, the page directed me somehow to the German service yahoo.de, but since also the German version now offers 100 MB of space (it shows me "0% von 100.0MB" in my inbox, though ), I can say: It works in Firefox, but I needed to set the signup-page on "bypass" inside the Proxomitron, because the web content filter sorted out the sign-up button for the free service (but for a weird reason the button for the pay-service stood visible ). As for you; bypass the Proxomitron that time you log in (or simply set up a email client to download all the mails from the server), HH, or switch the browser |

So you'd limit the usage to people who have serious knowledge in ROM hacking only ... But on the other hand, the editor is too easy to use for a professional ROM hacker; this doesn't maske sense ? As for me, I don't hack anymore since a very long time; due to laziness and losing motivation (also in designing a RM2k game beforehand; today only playing and rating them ), but usually it is a masterpiece of editor. Not just for Super Mario World, but its GUI easily wipes out any other ROM editor; let's compare it with Hyrule Magic. Despite the fact that HM is a fully another editor, its GUI ist nice, but harder to use and less good organzied than LM (like the tree map structure, the order of dungeon maps etc.). Plus extra "add-ons" like the Block Inserter tool, the Animated Tile editor and pure ASM hacking, most of the people can invent their own ideas and nearly everything; with Blocktool you won't even eed ASM hacking skills, since a mass of really useful blocks is already included and very easy to put inside your hack |

Being honest helps more than wrong criticism: A really bad screenshot should be rated "That screen sucks. The tiles left from the water don't fit from the colors and the mis-shaped ExGFX from the right makes my eyes bleeding" helps more than "Well, the screen is not that bad, but you need to improve it a little, will 'ya ?" As long as does not come to flame, it should be okay. But most important: The post should HELP and show mistakes and HINTS |

That board has many classic elements, which need to be done by hand, like the Mark Forum Read feature; so /online.php is a classic and in the modern era it is simply nice to read something a "nostalgic" entry than a modern board which takes 'everything' funny from it. That would be like a automatic spell checker which would disable lines like 'TEH HAXX0r IS BACK !!!!!11111ONEONEON' And as for viewing /online.php in guest status; I don't care since I'm logged in anyway; except I'm at work (edited by Gandalf The Grey on 06-18-04 05:40 PM) |

The difficulty level should start out low and increase gradually. Extra and hidden levels actually can have a really challenging difficulty; even when already early ones; just see FPI'S demos from TSRP II for example The essential levels should rather include nasty traps than too tricky secret exits. So if you will need for a invisible key hole in a level with no hints like coins around it to proceed, it is simply unfair and far than funny |

I know many people playing lots of RTS games using that mouse too, due to its better precision (like StarCraft BroodWar), Yarx. Plug it in via PS2 to have even more precision than via USB . As for me, I'm using the smaller brother of that mouse, Logitech Cordless Optical since a couple of weeks and am enjoying the nice black design and cordless freedom too (edited by Gandalf The Grey on 06-19-04 02:40 PM) |

Well ... mostly the later parts featured very neat graphics and really good soundtracks mostly (well ... didn't like the FFV OST too much, although not bad; like the nice Gilgamesh theme ), but FF is not the non-plus ultra in RPGs. It often lacks a surprising story, but on the other hand even a boring story was set up in a very exciting way; mini-games, FMVs and other stuff keeps you playing these although you don't expect anything what could surprise you An exception is the story in FF VIII; hell, it's the most annoying and stupid story ever (imo, besides FFMQ), so I didn't finish the game until today Other games feature far more interesting innovations like in battle systems (Grandia I + II), neat storys (Disgaea, Xenogears) or a fully new magic system (Rudra no Hihou, create your own spells) and such, while Final Fantasy offers the fun and effects. From the later parts I only liked FF VII and FF IX, but I didn't rate them even as far as good as FF VI, while at least I enjoyed a lot of hours in part nine, yes; the nice GFX and addictive battle theme music made me forget the huge lack of new ideas in that part; but as long as their were used wise, I don'T have anything if a manufacturer steals from his older games |

If you didn't do it, update your video card drivers. Make also sure not to run programs not needed are opened (only keep required system processes running, such as multiple svchost.exe in Windows XP for example). It seems like Halo 'drives' over your system and seems to last heavily on your entire system in single player mode; are there anything major tasks inside single player mode to render inside the game ? Make sure you also have the most recent patches; maybe it can fix your problem. |

This was suggested on the old board already. A nice idea would be to set up a check boxes for each PM and a button "Delete marked PMs" below your messages; but I dunno know if this or anything else ever will be done.

Heh, I changed my nickname twice; one of it was a temporary change. Now I'll switch to my avatar's name again, since I'm more fond of that name than the wizard from the LotR (although I like his character in the book too ) The name also is written in Japanese letters in my sig |

On the old board it was annoying in IE sometimes, because then in the preview window you couldn't change the post in the same window again (so you had to to press the back button in your browser); usually no problem; but IE sometimes tends to empty the information from the post forum In Mozilla Firefox and Opera you have the ability to block specific images; so if a layout annoys you, you simply block his/her server the image comes froum. It may not solve the problem since it only blocks the page for YOU, but at least it prevents something like broken CSS/layouts to mess up the loading process |

I believe he has/had the software and drivers installed. Otherwise he probably wouldn't have been able to scan and print documents; maybe that is only possible without software using printers via USB. Well, if you ensured it is no mechanical defect like a broken part or a dead laser inside the scanner part, ensure all cables are plugged in corrextly and reinstall the drivers and software the printer came with |

I like 'em Taking some people with you and spending a whole day is nice. Except roller coasters which go "over-head" like these with looping we usually try out out everything. In Germany my favourite parks for me are Phantasialand and Europa-Park; these simply have the best overall atmosphere and goot thematic setup |

It cannot be specified generally for _all_ games, but often games are lacking ideas, really going only on graphics (well, you excluded them; but take examples like Enter The Matrix for example ). There still are really nice games like Disgaea (PS2) and others. As for me, concerning RPGs I rather play FFVI VII or IX, because I simply don'T like the newer RPGs anymore; often you don't experience too new ideas, but just warming up old ones. Let's also take many of Nintendo's games on GBA Yes, remakes of Seiken Densetsu 2, Super Mario Bros. and so on still are good, but only are remakes, taking out money for old ideas |
