Then how about we put that to the test... You think it will, post the log, state what happened, and the poll question. "If it had been labeled a staff 'spring cleaning' and not a reconstruction like it was originally, would you still have voted the same way?"

Well? How about it, make the new poll or no?

Although you are bad for calling it FF3, I know you are talking about FF6. Anyway, the codes are odd. There's a few different versions of the game floating around, and the codes didn't always work for me either. Not all of the "get item codes" work either, although one of them does.

1: When it's not working, are you getting the experience, but not gaining the levels? If yes, then you need more in your group. If no, then try a lower code, like one that gives 16,000 exp a battle.
2: The learning faster might not be working because the monsters aren't giving any MP. Try fighting different monsters. (Although, you probably did that already.) The first monster that will actually give MP is in the desert near Castle Figaro. Although, maybe the Dark Winds do too...

That help any?

Well, I'd like to see you deal with this bullshit for years and years. Oh yeah, keep a straight face too... FF4 was released in '92, FF6 in '94, and FF7 in 96/97. Probably brought to light not long after FF7 was released.... I'd like to hope that the evil referencing of 'j' and 'us' would've already been over and done with, even after Origins, Anthology, and Chronicles being released.... But noooooo.... So yeah, frusteration mounts...

Take note, this is not my utility, BlitzKrieg made it.

*copies*

For the 2 or 3 of you that actually visit my site/forum you've know for a week or so that I've been working on a little gem. Now comes the first public release. I'll get an HTML manual for it soon, or maybe I'll get DKK to do one for me.

*removed by request*

Here's where you change your trousers.

Lenophis is posting a more complete and extensive fix on the item data that we worked on for a week straight.

*end copy*

And this has been my project in the last week. Evil Peer didn't get everything right on the items, which was ok. I learned a shitload of this game because of it.

Oh yeah, this will be undergoing many updates, since accessories are still kind of unknown. That, and there'll be new goodies later to come.

--Edit--
Thanks Kitten Yiffer

Nintendo have the game listed as Final Fantasy 3, and that is good enough for me.

Number 1: We don't base our logic soley on the words of Nintendo.
Number 2: It's Squaresoft's game, not Nintendo's. Squaresoft since re-released it as the proper number (like it should've been in the first place.) As was FF4. So there are two american versions, one correct, one incorrect and out of date. So if you want to continue to base your logic on something that is 10 years old...go ahead.

If that means that I'm immature in your eyes, so be it.

No, you're just being stubborn when the correct information has been put in front of you.

Why do you think it was renamed to fool the general public in the first place? They didn't want to put up with the translations of FF2, 3, or 5, so that's why they did what they did.

I don't even see Squaresoft coming out with a statement saying that the american SNES Final Fantasy 3 game should be referred to as Final Fantasy 6. If they did, they would get ridiculed.

*awaits Dan to ridicule Nintendo* Think about it for just one moment, if Nintendo didn't play their hand, then they would've been released as their proper title initially, and we wouldn't be having this discussion. They are originally to blame. Well?

Barring a small miracle, the NHL is expected to announce the cancellation of the season Friday. Now I will be depressed, because the chase for Lord Stanley's Cup is by and large one of the greatest playoff races of all time. All I can say is:

Good fucking job, players and owners, you really fucked up and alienated every fan of hockey.

However, it's not ok for Squaresoft, original creator of the game, to fix said game, release it on a new system, with it's original name. Because we need to ridicule Squaresoft for fixing a mistake that Nintendo made."

Dan, you are basing this on the assumption that Squaresoft merely just ported it to the PSX. And for the most part it was. But you can't sit here and call it a direct port of the American version. Bugs were fixed, dialogue changed (as if it were re-translated), so you can't say with absolute certainty that they "retroactively renamed it." For all you know, it was a complete redoing of the original version, so stop with the guesswork.

I think this argument could go on to the end of time really. So, I'll be the one to bow out. (Mostly because neither side is budging an inch, and repeating the same arguments over and over get tiring)

I'm presenting the truth. You won't accept the truth. You say you base your logic on what Nintendo says, and the GoodSnes name? GoodSnes probably based the label on what Nintendo gave it. I'll even quote Shakespeare:
"A rose by any other name will smell just as sweet." The rose is in this case, is the original name, which is FF6. Which Nintendo renamed to fool morons (and since you are taking that bait, you are included in that list) and make them ignorant of the truth (and you've shown a good example of that as well). You have said that someone shouldn't just go and rename something on a whim, then why do you say that Nintendo can get away with it? Renaming is renaming, doesn't matter when it was done during production. Nintendo was wrong, the GoodSNES set naming was based on that wrong information, so guess what that makes you? Wrong on all accounts. And yet, you insist that Squaresoft is at fault....

But since you have shown ignorance, arguing with you is as pointless as arguing with anybody. Because "I cannot possibly be wrong, it's me." Even with the correct information, you refuse to accept it. "...he's just being an idiot about it."

That was my last try, if at this point you wish to "be an idiot" and still stand by your misguided logic, go ahead. Mod, I call you, close this. Since you seem to win "cuz I'm the mod."

The only thing close to that would be some young kid breaking Gretkzy's points record for a single season. Or any of his records for that matter. That'll get the drive back for some, and I know it'll be exciting.

Let's just write this season off already, and try and look forward to next season, if possible.....

I was thinking it was an old version doing this, but, apparently not. TF is crash prone... I probably did about an hour's worth of work in changing item descriptions, but as soon as I click "save," it crashes with stupid IO errors. Oh yeah, it also does that whenever I open a rom too. So not only were my changes not saved, I can't even open a rom now and then! And before you ask:

.NET framework v1.1
TF v1.06
Windows 2000

And I have something else to gripe about too. You have rendered two previously released editors useless. And by useless, I mean "you removing the header means I can't edit the game further because they do stuff that TF cannot."

Oh so nice, and at the same time, oh so limiting....
