I changed it to 01 and made it into a Puppet like floating Mario, though trying to pick it up crashes. I'm tempted to make a comedy hack of the text themed around these minor edits.

Why not look for the 02(star 2, the Koopa the Quick object) near by him and change Koopa the Quick, or maybe look off that and find the position he's put and put the big Bob-omb there? I'd do something simular but I don't know which byte is which because you list of what's what doesn't mention if it's in that order, and states there's some other unknown stuff, otherwise I'd be playing with this more then just making my self discovered Koopa the Quick offset a giant pole or a freaky Mario.

Does anyone know the lengths for objects? Here's a little something I found myself near the Bob-Omb data. Note that it may differ due to the byteswapness, so I will list the original values. Just look for them nearby if the value is different. Otherwise you may crash the game setting Koopa the Quick to show up on act 105 or something. Koopa the Quick: 405C62(02) - Act Number Koopa the Quick: 405C62(62) - Act Number I used that to make this image. |

I think I messed up on one of the two, still you can use them for the general location and proper values. Do you know how long an object is, so I could like try and find other objects in the stage without screwing with unknown values? Also, what determens what something acts like, and/or the size? Using the value Koopa the Quick has on the Bob-Omb King makes him a normal sized Koopa model.(floating with a broken neck, none the less)

Can you give a list of objects you have found out? I changed Koopa the Quick to show up on act 1 and changed his object so I can see the different ones, but I skipped around alot in the beginning, and I was thinking I could fill in empty spaces with your data if possible, and vice versa.

From what I see in that pic, does that mean it would be possible close to now to make the program allow you to move the objects and output the proper code and tell you the offset it was at, or atleast tell you where each object would be in the rom to help find what's what? If not I think I'll continue playing with it with this new found info, finding what object is what and trying to figure a tiny bit out on my own now that I know how many bytes each thing is. EDIT: A small bit of something I figured out, the last two bytes of the objects are the type bytes, they determen what the object acts like, but also appear to be quite sensitive. Minor changes crash the game, however copying bytes from other objects seem to make it okay. Some kind of pointer maybe? Changing bytes 17 and 18 seem to affect the status of Koopa the Quick when I used him as a test subject before going on to the last ones. Sometimes it made him act like a normal Koopa, or a shellless koopa, or a Koopa the Quick sized one, one time he acted like normal but said something like "Ehh hee hee hee" and the game crashed(either because I forgot to put the flagpole on act 1 or whatever he was set to crashed the game. Finally I may do some slight aid to the community! (edited by Someguy on 07-01-05 01:01 PM) |

The levels have tons of coins as well as things such as plenty of Goombas, can the current list of objects really be all of that? Perhaps they are in large groups... Incase nobody noticed, the last two bytes of the $1824 objects is the byte that determens how it acts, so you can copy them from other enemies to make duplicates. One or two of the bytes somewhere changes other things, like turning Koopa the Quick into a normal Koopa or a shellless one... Perhaps these objects are like special objects and the others don't have several metric tons of extra stuff...

It may be for multiplayer, I never tried it but the four letter thing matches the low letter system of many things, you may be able to enter a four letter username.

Why is it thought of os a 255 lists of 255? Shouldn't it be thought of as just a single two byte number? Or is it easier on the mind to think 255 lists of 255 instaid of one huge list of 65025? One last thing, perhaps if you are lucky the list will end early, because the game might not use all the object numbers. Then again they could of stuck objects out in the middle of lots of non working/null/crashing objects...

It's hard to say for me. The Nintendo DS is one of my favorites if handhelds count, it's portable to play anywhere, while having a currently low amount of titles the different things you can and/or will be able to do with it are awesome, and it can hold up to partially above N64 quality graphics(with a seemingly 256 color per screen limit, not counting transparent things it seems, though the 3D mode may go past that), the possibility for beautifull high frame 2D graphics, and again I love the touching, one of if not the first time it's a main focus on a game machine home or portable. However, there's so many other things I may forget, the Gamecube has some of my favorite recent games, but the PS2 still is a good contender with some games even Nintendo fans would like(Katamari anyone?), plus the PS1 backlog. However, I shant neglect the whole entire Gameboy series,(Yes, you too Virtual Boy. *hides it from harm*) and there's other older systems like N64, SNES, NES, and there's also the competitors, Sega Genesis, the Gamegear(I never had but one game for my original GB and not many for my old Gamegear either so my only bigger memories of portable gaming of the past are Pokemon Blue, one of those Yoshi puzzle games for the GB(there's like Yoshi, Yoshi's Cookie, and Tetris Attack I think), and some Sonic GG games.), and all the other things. It's too hard |

Here's a quick idea about Quick. *killed for pun* Try "racing" the shellless Koopa the Quick on star 2, or setting the star the flag appears on to star 1, otherwise Koopa the Quick crashes from my experimenting on the originally found object types, so if you are testing on star 1 and don't have a flag it might crash when it otherwise wouldn't. I may be wrong and you may be testing with a flag, but I just want to help. |

I simply made this poll to see after abit of time how many people have gotten a NDS or a PSP, as well as what they think of them and if they regret it or love it or anything, with new titles and such out for the systems, and things they await that they basically bought the system to wait for. I hope it was okay for me to make this. I also hope I picked decent colors for the systems.

Why not just edit another object into the switch right next to the list object? That would be much faster then working on a Gameshark code wouldn't it? Then again, the GS code might be fun to play with anyway.

The collection simply plays emulated versions of all the games, they are not ports. I am not sure if that's the case for Gems Collection though, which is said to sport crisper graphics, though it could be the same as running an N64 emu on a good computer.

Intelligent Systems(Of Paper Mario and Fire Emblem fame) makes things like the IS-NITRO-CAPTURE and IS-NITRO-VIDEO for this kinda thing. Here's a link to the japanese site. If you look around you can see they are even accepting new people! |
