Yeah before he does, I just wanted to point out that I like dropping one-liners and knuck's behavior has no bearing on whether or not I feel like banning him from this place.

I don't see any name-calling here...

Oh, right, now I remember. This thread is pointless.

Satchel: 'Yeah, he's fine... I'm a little more concerned about YOU being fine at the moment. About how much further do we have to go to hit Sandsalot? And what DIRECTION?'

Satchel continued to zoom along. Sparks lined the edges of the track as an object that was clearly NOT meant to be moving along them continued to move.

Janus did a loop, a swerve or two, and a few rolls in the air... This was cool! He liked flying quite a bit. But he didn't have the time to spend learning such a thing... He had to keep going along on the tracks, or he'd never catch up to Yiusi! As it was, Satchel was already moving at a high enough speed so that if Janus wasted any more time they'd be in Sandsalot before he even started to catch up... He had to focus.

Kalar stirred. Garro's spell had sucked the poison out of him, but he felt his head pound as he staggered to his feet and picked up his weapons, both new and old.

Kalar: "I'm not entirely sure... I think I can carry at least two of the bodies. Can you handle Nijote? Cor, I feel like crap right about now. That poison Nijote used was pretty potent, before I dropped off I could practically feel it coursing through my blood. She's a very accomplished apothecary if she can pull that off, especially on me. The airship's not too far away, if all else fails we can use Garro's coat as a makeshift cot and drag them all there. Janus should wake up pretty soon, too..."

He set to work, picking up first the small and rather frail Garro and then the hardier and heavier Janus. There was, however, a small problem. Satchel still lay gripped in Janus' hands, and was still far too heavy to lift by anyone but him. Curses, Kalar thought.

"I'll rephrase that: Janus'd better wake up pretty soon."

With Janus MIA, Kalar still recovering from his fight with Sion, and Grey being caught up in administrative duties on the subject of the tournament's next round, Garro decides to catch some lunch. He overhears Schwa's conversation on the subject of elementals, and takes a seat at the table...

Garro: "I say, you're Schwa aren't you? I don't believe we've formally met. Or, to be more precise, the last time we met you threw a rather large and unwieldly blast of pure ether at me. Needless to say, I couldn't help but hear you speaking of something about power and freedom... Sounds like an interesting story."

He shifts his seat inward, removes his hat and coat and places it over the back of the chair, and pushes his spectacles up his face as he leans on the edge of the table, sizing Schwa up a bit better than before.

"They call me Garro. Care to share?"

Garro: ".....In a manner of speaking."

He gets up from the table. Schwa's overbearing need for good and light and holy had begun to infect him, which he refused to allow. There was no good, there was no evil. Garro needed to remember that.

"There IS, after all, a reason as to why I "twist the ways of Good", as you so crassly put it. I'll see you on the battlefield, Schwa. Though it may not be your own..."

And with that, he returns to Grey...

Satchel slowed to a direct stop, floated off of the Speedway tracks, and waited... A few moments later, Janus was floating in the air alongside him.

Janus: "I see... OK, so what's at Pentalipse? A good restaurant, I hope? I'm not going to start an epic journey on an empty stomach, there's just no spirit when you're concentrating on hunger pangs all day."

Janus: "Ya know, somehow I knew you'd ask that..."

Crap, I'm even getting the Psi Warrior accent... Soon I'll be adding in apostrophes to my regular speech, Janus thought. He appreciated the power that Ethereal energy offered, but really, this was a little too much.

"Your ball thing, when it hit me, I think a bit of Ethereal energy was bounded with my body. I'm currently giving off a Psi Warrior's energy signature, which could be a good or a bad thing. Personally I'd go with "bad thing", since I know what Schwa tangles with on a daily basis, but for the time being, I can deal. It's not like we're going to be attacked by a Garuda or anything. We'd better not, or I'm gonna be breaking down some walls."

He made it sound so simple, but it really wasn't: In fact, the ethereal energy was changing Janus' body from the inside and out... The blue aura that had brightened so highly before was only a dim glow now, barely discernable to most eyes. However, though Janus was more or less relaxed now, it had yet to actually turn off. In fact, it seemed to slowly, almost unnoticeably get brighter.

"So then, I vote for a continuation of a current path. You can pray, I can take you out to dinner, we can go to Pentalipse, all's well? Or do you want to make dinner a regular thing?"

OOC: Let's disregard the numbers for now.

Janus: "Then if Guardian's never been wrong, let's test how right it can be."

Satchel skidded far and skidded true along the lines of the track. With Janus flying by their side, Yiusi, Satchel and the Ball were in safe hands. Once they reached Sandsalot, however, the entire world was open to them. Where would they go? What would they do? Was Janus going to tip the waiter? How well? If Satchel and the Ball were with them did it count as a party of 4?

These questions raced through Janus' mind as they traveled, but one stood above them all...

"Hey Yiusi, what's Sandsalot like, anyway?"

Janus: "Huh, I guess dinner can wait... I'm more curious about this Oracle Temple, now that I think about it."

He looked around at the city: The cloudy night sky of the city that the Acmlm's Board building was in gave way a long time ago to open starlight. The moon shined brightly in the sky. With the city built over an oasis, it felt cool and breezy, yet somehow nice and warm in the summer night. It really was an almost perfect place to live. Maybe he'd hang around here for a while if he didn't choose to go back to Grey any time soon. His adventuring days were certainly experiencing a strong revival with a place like this...

"I can't wait to see it! This city must have so much to offer, so many new things to try, people to meet, places to go, things to do!"

Janus flips a very strange looking coin into the bard's case, and he looks at it carefully, before staring open-mouthed at Janus and Yiusi as they walked toward the temple. Tears welled up in his eyes, and he got onto his knees, looked to the sky, folded his hands, and began mouthing "Thank you, thank you so very much...".

"So what do you DO at these temples? Pray to Kyr'Shei? Donate? Go to sermons?"

He gave her a playful tap on the arm with his fist. Friendly conversation was good. Check the likes, check the dislikes, keep it simple.

Valcion. He told me to join, I did mainly because I heard the crew also played TwilightRO, and then I discovered the roleplaying community. Now I'm probably never leaving. Go figure.

It's a damn bloody shame that meaning in this message will not effect much, and probably get into more drama.

It IS well meant, and I agree with a lot of it. Eh... not too sure what else to say. Doubtless some of you that post after this may either close it or repudiate him.

It's "effected" or rather affected me, as you say. I'm pissed. If you don't like the drama, don't participate in it. I wouldn't even be here if I didn't owe Thayer a favor, but here I am, and here I am saying that if you don't want any drama, don't stir the goddamn pot. Go home. Or if you are home, disconnect your LAN cable and take a break. You may find the world less dramatic if you do.

Actualy, I believe the board should be entirely unmodded, and all incentives should be removed for post counts. Keep track, certainly, but no levels/avatar-getting etc, or perhaps have it be only by time, not posts. Or some other form of achievement or work.

If the forum was unmodded, there'd be nobody to enforce the rules, and nobody would visit the board because they'd think it was a shitty place where everyone flamed without provocation or restriction. Fail.
Another sad thing is how people get promoted on this board as well. Speak your mind and the truth, you'll be frowned down upon by the powers that be. (At least the ones that matter.) Kiss ass and don't have a mind of your own? Well, there's promotion for you despite the fact that others very much deserve it far more.

This doesn't apply to everyone though. There's a few who actually deserved it. Like YD.

One.

I also don't think you should have to be nice to everyone all the time. Respectfull, certainly, but why should everyone have to sugar coat everything to a mod or admin? In reality, they are here to SERVE the reagular, non-offensive poster, not the other way around. Can't people disagree with them?

I also could do with alot less of mods "giving what they get" when "giving what they get" is a bannable offense for others. Too often threads are closed with a "blah blah you're an asshole hahah!" kind of "I get the last word" remark. Then they are basiclaly using their power to win and or end personal arguments.
Edit: As an addendum, however, I am quite impressed that this thread is remaining open. Kudos to mods and admins.

I don't seem to recall ever abusing my position to wantonly flame people, and if I have, I'm sorry for it. I don't mean to put myself in a position above everyone else. I ask forgiveness, and hope I get it. Thank you.

Actually, users can tell staff to fuck off in arguments and what not. It's happened before and the only people that enforce "OMG FLAMING STAFF" are the ones that have major issues with themselves. I used to enforce the rule, but I see it as tiring.

Ziff, you push my buttons at times. "Seeing something as tiring" is only feeding what Wopple believes is the case on the board. Do your job, even if it is tiring.

Yes, that's nice.

Anyway, would any relevant people like to continue this conversation or is it pretty much dead?

Five.

Five, Legion. Five times you've trolled now. Your attacks on Trunxy were incessant and unnecessary. You exhibit hypocrisy in your assessment of Ziff's "holier than thou" attitude by making yourself out to be somehow better than him, when in fact you really aren't if you're willing to descend to a level where you have to feel the need to wave your manliness around by calling him on his personal beliefs. You also weakly defend yourself with the standard "IDGAS" attitude that is again shattered to pieces by the fact that yes, you do give a shit enough to reply. Stop faking, and start doing your job as a member of staff. I respect you, and I wish you would adhere to the rules and regulations that you will so harshly attack others with and so easily lighten for still more. Staff should be indiscriminate, and you fail in that aspect, unfortunately.

Here, you will more than likely attack me for the same thing I attacked you with, but there is a difference: Where you accept your hypocrisy and embrace it with said standard IDGAS defense, I am willing to correct any misgivings I may have presented, and do my best to continue to set a good example for those around me. Take note, for example, that unlike you I have yet to flame a single person in this reply, and I am doing my best to keep my temper (which by reading this thread has begun to overflow ever so slightly) in check. I may be posturing above everyone else in this assessment, but that is because rankwise on this board, I AM above everyone else. I hate to say it, because this will invite fire from ALL sides, but I am a full moderator here, and it is my job to enforce the rules that I have pledged with my acceptance of this job to their fullest extent. There IS no excuse for obeying and enforcing law, and there is no reason whatsoever why I should not act against any injustice I see.

That, Legion, is a true "Holier than thou" attitude, much tighter and more balanced with my personal opinions than yours or Ziff's is. I accept it, because it is a part of what I am supposed to do on this board. I accept it, I move on, and I do my job. I think you should, too.

Now, this is going to close. This is going to stay closed unless someone of higher rank than me feels that it really does need to open. If anyone else opens it, I will close it again, and I will keep closing it as many times as I see fit, or so long as the rules of the board are disobeyed. This is my job, this is what I have to do, and this is what I want to do.

And Thayer? One Favor owed, one Favor redeemed.

MY INTIAL EDIT: Ah, nearly forgot something:

I think that's interesting, but I really feel the most appropriate course of action is bawk bawk bawk bawk. I AM A CHICKEN DANCE MAN. BAWK BAWK BAWK BAWK BAWK BAWK BAWK BAWK

EDIT again: Bound by the rules I have placed in my favor thread, I am overriding my previous statement, and re-opening this thread by request of Thayer. One favor owed, one favor redeemed.

THIRD EDIT: Telling people the path of my edits.
