we've gone from Star Wars to Star Trek

hm...TNG and Voyager were my favorites. I didn't get interested in DS9 until the Dominion Wars and Enterprise as of late is getting good in my opinion.

Anyways, to ask a very stupid question, when in May is Episode III coming out?

OMG there is actually a race for #1 for the month... and at this point of time the point total is less than 200

anyways, I've pretty much disappeared for this month--maybe I'll be back next month

oh...i see (that is something i didn't know...) well then, you obviously know moping around isn't doing you good (hence, this thread). maybe for starters...why don't think think about what you did like in the past (before him) and try doing something with that? Like, what is something you haven't done since you were little? I dunno, I'm just throwing ideas out...it's up to you to act on them--if I knew you personally, I'd probably drag you out somewhere right now

I say it is markup... Japanese artists have two copies of their same CD--one for sale in Japan, and one for "overseas". However, the overseas one is about $10 cheaper.

anyways, if the iTunes Music Store starts featuring Japanese artists, I may start using it

We'll see? You mean you actually plan on testing to see if it screws up your system? Well, I guess if you know how to kill it, then go for it... but still, it seems kind of silly to go about having to kill it when you can just avoid it all together.
Where does the vulnerability truly lie? It maybe in the AOL's AIM client or it just may be in the protocol itself--if it is a flaw in the protocol, then other clients like Trillian or GAIM may be effected as well. But since a majority of clients are AOL's, we can't really say that Trillian or GAIM are not effected by it...

Well, if you aren't cutting of power to the CPU and fans, then there is no point to standby because it would be then no different from drives automatically shutting down and the monitor shutting down. At that point, standby is as pointless as dumping water into the ocean. Oh well.

I just wonder why the main person of the MLBPA (for got his name) was (or still is) doing everything in his power not to stop testing and that fun stuff when the public really wants them to. An interesting point that came out of the NFL conference with Congress was a united front (i.e. cooperation) between the league and its players on the use of steroids and such. One of the congress committee members complimented Tagliabue by saying, "Thank you for knowing what the hell is going on"

We'll see how this goes. If MLBPA has any brains, they'll accept this.

That battery is essentally a substituion for your power cord. Which, now that I think about it, is a good alternative to me if it is cheaper than buying a replacement battery. However, I'm not sure how good that system is under HEAVY usage. It's a good thing if you are going to be say flying and need battery power (although planes nowadays have systems for you to connect your cord). But if the battery dies 1 hour anyways, then there isn't much of a difference...

One thing that I don't understand is when would you have time to play HL2 outside your place of residence? Also, why would you play HL2 on the battery? Laptops are ideal when you do stuff that requires you to move around say doing research or something when you need a portable computer to do homework or when the computer labs are not good enough and you want to have a computer. But if you are going to be playing games and being stationary, then I see no difference between the laptop and a desktop computer. The only thing the laptop allows you is to have a different setting when you play HL2.

In my opinion, you are getting that laptop for the wrong reasons. It's cool and all but more than you ever will need for school work when you are away from home. Plus, I think that thing would be a pain to carry around since it is so big. But if it is the only thing you carry to school, then i should be okay then.

It's about as low as you can get for school work--but it's ridiculously weak for gaming (not because of the processor but because of the video card--on board intel is like one of the worse out there--it isn't strong enough to do 3D IMO). So yeah, between the two alienware laptops, I'd go for the power hogging one.

Might I suggest looking at Dell laptops. They may have something good for gaming with good battery life that you could try looking into. My friend got something pretty good from gaming--I believe P4 3.2Ghz w/ HT, 1GB of RAM, 100GB of HD, 4 hour battery life, GeForce 5200FX powered, 8x DVD+R/RW with dual layer buring support, 802.11b/g Internal Wireless, and the standard inputs like firewire, USB, and external VGA. His was an Inspiron. It is a little weak on the gaming side but a lot better than many laptops right now. Also, Dell has gaming laptops as well that you could look at while you are there.

As far as I know, I've never heard of anyone using laptop memory for desktop computers. What you could probably do is try to sell of the memory and use that money for the desktop...or you could save it for you next laptop...or something...

i know there is probably power and cooling issues invovled but more trouble than it is worth.
